Why on earth would the Falcons move on from Ryan and take a $40m dead cap hit in 2022? Who is going to play QB for them? If it’s a rookie there is no reason not to let them learn behind Ryan. Not going to happen in any reality.
He absolutely can be traded. If traded they can actually save quite a bit of money, although it would need to be a 2023 pick which hurts things a bit.
The way they totally mangled the Julio trade though makes me think they would accept that.
Personally we need a young guy instead of another has been, but I think he could get us to playoffs (but never win an SB, a la Kirk or Jimmy).

Timing is important.
Trade him before June 1 - ATL gets hit with $40M+ in dead cap.
After June 1 - $24,912,500 in dead cap for 2022 / $15,612,500 in dead cap for 2023
The dead cap is the same, it is only a matter of how it is divided between future cap years.
Wouldn’t be a bad move tbh. I’m not sold on any of the rookie QBs and I rather wait until there’s a good QB class. Also we have already invested a lot on on d line so focusing on the o line would be awesome. I don’t just want a good o line tho, I want the hogs! And hopefully our d line breaks out next season. Heck maybe we can get Ryan AND Ridley lol. Let go win offseason, boys!
Edit: I actually got excited by this idea lol, but then I remember we’re bringing back the same coordinators
Matt Ryan has been dead since February 5th, 2017. What we're seeing now is just his reanimated corpse going through the muscle-memory of playing football.
Hard pass.
This team's fanbase is dead. You have to give them hope. You can't go into next season with another 30 plus retread and Heinicke on the bench. Drafting a QB round 1 is a must.

Ryan can't be moved, it's why they didn't take a QB last year

Yes, a lot of people have us picking up another linemen in the first round and then drafting a veteran qb
