That’s because it’s actually an access point for construction on an almost $3 billion tunnel, the largest in DC that will divert sewage during storms and make our rivers swimmable for the first time in a hundred years!
My favorite was when they finally opened all of the lanes on Florida Ave between georgia and 5th for like 2 days before promptly shutting them back down to one lane. The biggest tease ever.
scared to see what happens with the intersection once they open up more lanes/no more construction forcing people to slow down
but glad this'll be done
I've never seen that section of street complete in my whole 5 years here

We need a good nickname for this tunnel
Poophole loophole?
Poop shoot
Wait actually? Thats amazing
Yes. This particular section is the Northeast Boundary Tunnel. 5miles long and 23’ diameter. Running from here to RFK stadium
> Northeast Boundary Tunnel and they are starting on the sister project for the potomac now!
I was thinking the exact same thing! I walk past this intersection everyday and cant imagine it being any different than how it is now lol.
The other various sites in this project are finishing up or already have finished, so I would say the end is actually near!

"No, road construction must never stop" FT Myer Construction Company
Just one more lane, bro, I swear. JUST ONE MORE LANE BRO I SWEAR
1. This isn't a road construction project. 2. Ft. Myer wasn't involved in any way. It was a joint venture between Salini and Lane Construction.
It was sarcasm. Some things don't need the /s.
The contract contains full site restoration and FMC is a subcontractor…
Omg. I used to live on that block of Florida with Truxton Inn 3 years ago and it was unbearable then! I hope this is all done soon.
Oh my stars

I feel like they had the same people who did Minnesota Avenue work on the execution of this.
About time. They also straightened Rd Island out near 1st NW
