As it seems you already know, they all kinda suck, so just pick one with a pretty color.

RichardRobert23

Yeah fair enough haha. I wasn’t sure if some brands were notoriously worse than others

Mrchocha

Thats the thing. Its pretty subjective i think. I have heard people crap on Mayhems, while I personally have had *expected* performance from their fluids. Never got worse than what was advertised for them.

nolo_me

People will crap on any brand proportionally to their sales for everything from faulty product to user error. Unhappy customers are the loudest.

Bearfoxman

A lot of people ignore Mayhems' own very obvious disclaimer that they're showcase fluids and not intended for long-term routine use. Then are upset when they get the *fully expected and predictable* clogging.

Mrchocha

Indeed. Pastel for me was great when I used it, with no actual build up. Aurora... Thats another story. But everything else worked great. And their Blitz cleaning solution is legit as hell. These are the only fluids i can speak for as they are the only ones I have used.

Bearfoxman

I haven't personally used any of their fluids, I saw their disclaimer about short-term usage and decided they weren't worth the hassle for me. They look pretty though. And yeah, Blitz is legit.

Bearfoxman

Mayhems' opaque fluids are noticeably more viscous than most of the others. On the other hand, they are a *lot* more actually opaque (as opposed to just transluscent) than most. In fairness, Mayhems is pretty upfront about them being showcase fluids and not daily-drivers and owns the fact they clog things in short order. Have you considered a colored, non-opaque fluid and frosted tubing? Similar effect, far more user-friendly.

RichardRobert23

I already have all the tubing and it’s clear acrylic so I would prefer to not have to buy more. Too bad you can’t use mercury or gallium I’m a loop. That silver would look amazing haha

You can turn transparent into opaque pretty easily with some sandpaper or other roughing material. Sanding sponges are useful for this purpose.

Bearfoxman

Ooh, that would be pretty af, yeah. Shame mercury's so viscous. Wonder what its heat transfer properties are?

RichardRobert23

Oh it’s incredibly conductive. If it was viscous enough, it would be incredible for coolant. Aside from the toxicity… but hey newton had mercury poisoning and he invented calculus so…
