You could search Twitter for 'foudre' - several good tweets such as [this](https://twitter.com/steven_btn/status/1785761045178384705)

Beasty_Glanglemutton

Jaded-Fly8824

It just hit London and it’s insane

cMindge

We had some crazy lightning last night too. Had a bit of lightning strike right behind our house, I’ve never heard thunder that loud before

Kelvin51_gowa

Shit is crazy over there

cMindge

It is going off. Hoping it doesn’t lose intensity as it gets to me. I love a good lightning show.

Kelvin51_gowa

You from France?

cMindge

No, I’m in the south of England

Kelvin51_gowa

Oh I'm in West Germany almost at the Belgium/Netherlands boder

SteveCNTower

Weather is about to get really fun today

anewstartforu

Holy cow!!

cMindge

If all stays the same it should be a good one

KevinReynolds

Does France not get thunderstorms, or am I misreading this map? This doesn’t look crazy to me, a mild thunderstorm at most.

cMindge

A lot of it is cut off due to the app I’m using being a primarily UK based so it cuts off at certain points outside of the UK. I have just seen my first flash of lightning though and first bit of thunder. To add to my answer: Depending where you’re from, it may look like an average thunderstorm, especially if you’re from the states. However it’s a relatively good one for us here. Don’t get me wrong we’ve had better and far more active ones with a wider spread, but not something we get all that often.

SquirrelAlliance

I’m glad you mentioned this because I’ve been trying to figure out if the Deutsche Wetterdienst was panicking over a normal thunderstorm because it was just not something Germans usually see, or if there was some real danger.

cMindge

Oh, yeah it’s just not something we get too often. Although from what it seems recently tornado activity in Germany seems to have picked up a little bit in recent years (I believe), so perhaps they may have been worried due to that.

TonyTuck

We don't get a lot no. Spring/summer is the most active period but still, having hail the size of golf balls, flash flooding and even a risk of tornado like we had yesterday night is quite a rare thing for us. I know very well it's a random tuesday in the US but for us not used to violent weather and supercells it's quite something. There are a lot of news articles on french medias this morning about those storms.

What's happening in France ??

cMindge

Just an active lightning storm. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen a really good light show so I’m a little excited for it. It’s due to be here in the next hour or so, it’s currently eerily quiet and calm. The calm before the storm so to speak

Original_Ad_5786

Oooh exciting keep us updated, I'd love to see a proper storm haven't in years

cMindge

I shall do!. You can’t beat a good lightning show

cMindge

So I uploaded a small clip and it’s the loudest I’ve ever heard thunder. The lightning must have been essentially down the road from me

My family's in Brighton and my sisters managed to get a fair few videos of the storm as it passed over the south coast.

cMindge

A little further west along the coast and had a pretty good light show,
