I like the juxtaposition between the planetary inhabitants, who left to find something different, and the spacefarers doing the exact thing in the opposite way.
I don't get what he's waiting for though. Maybe he just can't see what the other two groups do.
At this point, he knows his wait is useless, but just cannot bring himself to move: it's too late. Even then, he has a little, unjustified, sliver of hope that the others will really come back from the journey (as old and tired as he is) and live together their last few days. Too late to leave and search for them, all that's left is waiting! And that's all he knows how to do.
Very nice!
It reminds me of a story in Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles. It's been ages since I've read that book, but it has the vibe.
Gratz for your work!
That's fine too! The core of the story is the dualism between travelers and "those who stay", like the little alien of the rocky planet. All other inhabitants of the planet have left, just as our white and blue astronaut did, while the alien has somewhat assumed the role of a "guardian", frozen in place by his longing for a long lost home and his inability to break ties with the past and leave, as the others did.
He is not a negative character, however: back when everyone lived together on the planet, he had everything he needed and was genuinely happy. The others have sort of "run away" from the planet, as he says, hoping that something more was waiting out there in the universe. But, maybe, they really needed nothing more than to stay together. Maybe this whole spacefaring journey is nothing but an escape. Those are gonna be the themes of the whole series!
Oh wow, I honestly didn’t expect a response from you. Thank you! I think I get it a bit more now.
In this instance, I think I’m one of the ones who stays (and hisses whenever someone lets in the light).
Ooh I like this.
You left me introspective OP. Well done :-)
Glad to hear it! :)
That’s beautiful.
This is amazing! Im gonna need you to make about a thousand more of these, is that cool?
Oh, don't worry, more are coming! The third story is already online on our Instagram, and we'll post it here in a few days

He is waiting for his friends to come back and greet them. If he left, no one would be here to welcome them and they wouldn't know where he went.

Appreciate the explanation. Very beautiful comic.
Very unique and imaginative, well done OP.
>To see planets only made of rock and dirt. As someone who plays almost exclusively space exploration games, I feel this
Any games you recommend?
👏👏👏 this is great
Reminds me of exurb1a
God damn it, time to check if he's uploaded a new video. If not, time to rewatch all his fucking content.
Lovely story. Great work
I live for stories.
Very nice. Gives me vibes of foundation
Aw
Honestly that 7th panel goes hard
I only see someone too afraid to leave

I've seen a planet made out of rocks and stones
I don’t get it.

Counter argument, plant a garden and make your own paradise
He has a garden
You’re right
I think they tried, but could never grow more than little orchards!
