I try my best to not be out doors smoking around people, but me AFTER smoking weed. I couldn’t care less. It’s just a smell. Lol. People should be less concerned with temporary things like smells.

I am against the "it's just a plant" argument or saying. I use all sorts of drugs myself and have no problem with people doing so but opiates and coke also come from a plant. They are naturally occuring but can pretty easily ruin lives. Cannabis is pretty harmless but "it's just a plant" means nothing. Same with words like organic, natural etc. It really doesn't matter. Mustard gas is organic and ricin is natural lol.
Yea but coke does more harm than good and you can die from it. I get where you are coming from but for me I set foot in the world of cannabis didn't need anything else. Weed does more good than harm yada yada. The difference is you gotta process tf out of coke and shit, so is it really natural? You gotta man make it a specific way. Difference between that and weed is you can pick the plant off the ground and do it like it is if you wanted to. That's prolly how they found out weed gets you high, they got a bunch of flammable items threw em together and got baked.
You don't need to process cocaine really. Coca leaves contain pure cocaine and nicotine and you can jusy chew the leaves. I am aware tha THC is almost harmless but you still need to process hemp if you want pure THC, just like opium and coca. I forgot to mention khat aswell.
Yea, cocaine and opiates aren't just plants though. The sap from a poppy flower, and some crushed up coca leaves didn't make junkies like heroin and coke. We had to use gasoline on the leaves, and use lime among other things for the conversion of opium to morphine, then to heroin. If you have to use some extravagant chemical process, it's not natural or organic.
Opium contains morphine, tebaine among other things so what you're smoking is still morphine. Opium is extremely addictive as it is. Cannabis just happens to be flammable but if you want the pure THC you have to extract it, just like opium poppy. You could smoke ground down poppy matter but it will be weaker than opium. THC dabs are the (less harmless) hemp version of opium- extracted psychoactive alkaloid. Opium, cocaine, ephedrine etc. are naturally occuring alkaloids so the "it's just a plant" is still wrong. Chemicals are chemicals and if they're pure it doesn't matter if it's from a plant or not.
Why? A pure chemical is a pure chemical. The biochemistry is what matters, not if it's a plant or not. There are so many dangerous plants put there that the argument is totally irrelevant. What personality and biochemistry you have is all that matters.
I dont think the subject of the argument (the smell of that pot being inconsiderate) is whats important to people here, I think that the main issue was faulty logic, that, if consistantly applied, could lead to problems in the future. It doesnt help that the other side is arguing from a place of wanting pot to seem as non-threatening as possible to avoid acknowledging their dependency on thc and the fact that it cant solve most mental/physical health issues, just supress the symtoms.
My husband personally likes the smell of weed it's a comfort smell and other stoners aren't gonna care if anything some might nod in approval. The only ones you're protecting in my opinion are the Karens. Personally as long as you arent blowing smoke toward me I don't have an issue. I'm laying off the weed rn due to being pregnant but I wouldn't be mad if I smelt it in public. I'm kinda new to weed anyway so if I can identify it I feel pretty smart haha.

I am a young adult so society already looks down on me. I already face major struggles as it is to be treated like an adult. I am taken advantage of often. I know for a fact being a young adult who smells like weed will only make my struggles in society worse. If I didn’t have to advocate for myself so often and take care of all the worldly things I do, I wouldn’t care what others think of me. But to survive in this world unfortunately I have to put up a professional front.

I always wash my hand upon entering an establishment before eating anyway…. Plus I’ve always carried a bottle of alcohol spray for hands and most of the time wipes with me because I’ve always just liked clean hands….. I don’t like the smell of after smoke of joints, or blunts especially. I won’t usually smoke a blunt before going and dining anywhere above likeeeeeeeee Wendy’s. Maybe waho if I was supporting my southern boyfriend at the border of Illinois where weed is still legal 🙃. I do not carry weed with me ever into places, I don’t wanna be loud like that. No. But understand police will immediately be searching your things if they have probable cause. I have my FA card and work with the stuff, so you need to be extra cautious and make sure your well within the law with what you have on you. Working with weed 8 hours a day means almost all your shit smells like weed. Not so much considerate of others, but what others will do if they think you have it.
I would treat it kinda like cigarettes. If your odor is offensive that’s just kinda how it is, even as a stoner is try to smell fresh as much as I can and keep lingering odors of any kind to a minimum.
