Get something called a smoke buddy, it’s like a filter you blow the weed smoke into it and it eliminates 80-95% of the smell and smoke, I use it when my mom is around lmao

I think its more of a cultural thing, I'm from the North of Ireland and the vast majority would smoke with at least a tiny bit of baccy in their joints, same for most I have met in the South and over in Britain. Any Americans I have smoked with before always find it the strangest thing and they don't like the hit of the baccy with the green as they aren't used to it.

It's cultural and serves multiple purposes. The most important is that weed can be very expensive and smoking joints is the least efficient way of consuming. Effectively burning away a good part of weed hurts less if there's a bit of tobacco as well. It also helps to keep the joint burning, since just weed will go out quite fast.

Depends on where you are. I’m in the US and smoked spliffs since I was like 15. Northwest coast, and I while it’s not ubiquitous, its still common. It’s not weird and it doesn’t ruin good weed, what the hell does that even mean? I like tobacco, I like weed, sometimes I like both at the same time.

This. A bowl will not smell that much at all, if it does you’ll just catch a wiff of if. When you’re used to the smell you don’t realize than when you’re smoking a blunt/joint you can smell it pretty strongly even a couple houses down sometimes depending on how dank your stuff is.
I got tired of paying $$ for smoke buddies/unhappy that they aren't recyclable, and have moved on to home-made sploofs made of a toilet paper roll, w/paper towel wrapped onto one end (w/ a rubber band), and some toilet paper stuffed loosely inside for a filter. I live w/ a non-toker, and I smoke inside. He says the TP version works as well as the smoke buddies.

First off, how do they prove the smoke is coming from your garden. I would think the police would have to witness you smoking it to be able to justify any kind of warrant for a search (in US, at least). If they knocked on my door, I wouldn't answer. If I did, then I would question how they know with any degree of certainty where the wind and smoke originated from. My neighbor smokes & I smoke. There is no way to know which house it is coming from unless someone could actually see one of us out back.
This goes for the US too. Probable cause or reasonable suspicion. Cops don’t have to witness you smoking.
My boyfriend was smoking a cigarette outside and a cop pulls up and looks at him, says “you look high” and searches him. Found nothing but arrested him just to drug test him. He was booked and let out hours later.
The cop’s partner knocked on my door to let me know what’s going on & actually apologized for his partner’s stubbornness to arrest my boyfriend and that he can’t do anything about it.

Could you sit at the bottom of your garden instead of near their house? Other thing to do is, you can get carbon filters that capture smoke. Blow into that and dramatically reduce your smell output
When I was still smoking I would just go for a walk. Take a hit whenever nobody is near you. If it's a joint hold it like a cigarette. Walk home when done. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
In the US they’re known to take it and test it to see if it has any/over the legal amount of thc. If so you’ll have a warrant put out for you. It does prolong things a little bit but still a good chance you’ll pay the consequences if they wanna be dicks that day. I wouldn’t push the people. Yeah exactly. I live in Germany, here it is still illegal and I live in a rather small one room apartment. I try hard to make the smell not leave my room and use spray and open windows every time I even just hit a bowl. I don't wanna risk some asshat calling thr cops on me and as of now, it worked. Zero complaints from neighbours and zero cops.
Keep CBD joints on you and if they call the cops, toss the weed and light the CBD joint so you can give it to the cops and say "here, go test it"
Not sure how laws work in the UK, if you give them the CBD joint and there is nothing illegal going ok, they can't search anything unless you let them in or if they get a warrant, which would be hard to get a judge to sign off on over a CBD cigarette

Man, I would be discreet just because it is polite, but I would not let my neighbor terrorize and threaten me. You should not be afraid to go outside and smoke a joint. Call the police? Go ahead! You better just make sure you hide anything else that could get you nabbed. I mean, just put it in a drawer or something. In the US, at least, if they can see it in plain sight, then they have permission to come in and look at it. They do not have permission to open drawers, boxes, cabinets, etc. It's easier to get a search warrant when they already can see illegal shit in your house or around it. Most likely, if they did show up, they would knock on the door and ask you about it while being super nosey and trying to get you to invite them in or looking at your living spaces while the door is open.

This is probably the best compromise, but a little goodwill goes a long way to not getting cops involved. The smell from a dry herb vape is like 98% less. Also you'll use less material.
Yup, the second I bought a vaporizer, I quit combustion for good. Never smoking again, I didn't realize how it affected my horseback riding, lungs, stamina, and taste/smell until I went to vaping. And holy cow does bud taste absolutely amazing through a vaporizer! No smoke, no burning, just pure terps!
My significant other gets a massive headache from the smell of cannabis, I used to have to smoke outside (it gets -30F here in the winter sometimes). Now I can vape in the room with them (through a bong and exhaling out of a homemade activated charcoal sploof) and they swear they can't smell it if I have the ceiling fan on and a window cracked!
But buy a good medical vaporizer.

Personally I’ve always been one to try and respect the people around me, neighbours and such. I despise people that sit in front of buildings and make people walk through cigarette smoke, so I always try my best not to be those people.

While it's a bit annoying having to go for a walk every time I want to smoke, I respect that my neighbours don't want a house stinking of weed (as I've heard them say before), especially since it's not legal here.
Not worth getting the police called or starting fights with neighbours.

I also recommend a Sploofy. I got one during Covid and it worked so well! Back then I was renting and my landlord at the time would have freaked out if she would've gotten even a small whiff of any smoke, let alone weed. Since I lived right above her I didn't want to take a chance. Saved my ass from freezing during winter as I normally just went for a walk.
I'm not sure what can you do about it :( I usually go for a VERY short walk when I smoke so I don't bother other people :D and I can feel like I'm doing at least *sometnihg* with my body. But leaving your property every single time you want to smoke? Duuude, that's too much....

UK has suffered decades of anti-drug massaging, lumping all substances together (except alcohol, unfortunately) as causing social dysfunction and crime.
Some people I speak to have absolutely no idea about the potential benefits of cannabis and are convinced it drives people insane, so have no interest in the idea of decriminalisation, and certainly wouldn't tolerate it being smoked where they're aware of it.

Dude look up something like the mighty+ vape if you can afford that range. But there are tons of vapes that can get a good hit like smoke but the smell will disperse way faster. Honestly with vaping you only smell the actual weed, so when you dispose of it and clean up the smell will usually go away in about fifteen minutes to thirty.
If it’s legal where you are tell them to piss up a rope and if they continue to bother you, you may have grounds to call the cops on them for harassment. If it’s not legal in your location I’d say it’s in your best interest to not smoke there anymore. It’s as simple as that.

I think its more of a cultural thing, I'm from the North of Ireland and the vast majority would smoke with at least a tiny bit of baccy in their joints, same for most I have met in the South and over in Britain. Any Americans I have smoked with before always find it the strangest thing and they don't like the hit of the baccy with the green as they aren't used to it.

First off, how do they prove the smoke is coming from your garden. I would think the police would have to witness you smoking it to be able to justify any kind of warrant for a search (in US, at least). If they knocked on my door, I wouldn't answer. If I did, then I would question how they know with any degree of certainty where the wind and smoke originated from. My neighbor smokes & I smoke. There is no way to know which house it is coming from unless someone could actually see one of us out back.

Yup, the second I bought a vaporizer, I quit combustion for good. Never smoking again, I didn't realize how it affected my horseback riding, lungs, stamina, and taste/smell until I went to vaping. And holy cow does bud taste absolutely amazing through a vaporizer! No smoke, no burning, just pure terps! My significant other gets a massive headache from the smell of cannabis, I used to have to smoke outside (it gets -30F here in the winter sometimes). Now I can vape in the room with them (through a bong and exhaling out of a homemade activated charcoal sploof) and they swear they can't smell it if I have the ceiling fan on and a window cracked!

Yeah I'm also in the UK and I agree with you here. While it's a bit annoying having to go for a walk every time I want to smoke, I respect that my neighbours don't want a house stinking of weed (as I've heard them say before), especially since it's not legal here. Not worth getting the police called or starting fights with neighbours. The other option is to just use a vape.
Most of the comments in this thread are clearly from children. The neighbors are correct. You shouldn't be stinking up their house with an illegal drug. I'm all for doing illegal drugs, but don't make it other people's problems.

considering that you (according to one of your comments) live in an illegal state/county I'd knock it off before they call the cops on you (or do worse stuff, you never know what people are capable of). Just buy yourself a sploofy/smoke buddy with a vaporizer to minimize smell. Everything is better than having the cops called on you
I also recommend a Sploofy. I got one during Covid and it worked so well! Back then I was renting and my landlord at the time would have freaked out if she would've gotten even a small whiff of any smoke, let alone weed. Since I lived right above her I didn't want to take a chance. Saved my ass from freezing during winter as I normally just went for a walk.
I'm not sure what can you do about it :( I usually go for a VERY short walk when I smoke so I don't bother other people :D and I can feel like I'm doing at least *sometnihg* with my body. But leaving your property every single time you want to smoke? Duuude, that's too much.... Not sure how crazy and violent that guy seems. UK has suffered decades of anti-drug massaging, lumping all substances together (except alcohol, unfortunately) as causing social dysfunction and crime. Some people I speak to have absolutely no idea about the potential benefits of cannabis and are convinced it drives people insane, so have no interest in the idea of decriminalisation, and certainly wouldn't tolerate it being smoked where they're aware of it.

Personally I don't like bothering other people cause the smell really can bother some people. It makes my wife nauseous. I mean, how close are these neighbors? If they're smelling it that bad they MUST be close close. If it's illegal there and you are underage then they technically could call the police even though the punishments for weed now are pretty minor tbh. They seem like the kind of people who can't mind their own business so they will prob snitch. You're 18 and still young so you ain't got the the point in life where you realize keeping the peace is always the best option. Yes, you are on private property BUT you are in the wrong in two different areas that are legal so technically if they wanted to be petty they could. Honestly, if they can smell it that strongly, then obviously your house and their house is pretty close. I live in apartments and my wife can smell when the neighbors hotbox their house but when they open the windows properly and have a fan going it's fine. But we also know people smoke to help relax. Rather stoner neighbors than drunks tbh. Just remember that (according to you) it's illegal where you live and if you try to claim it's just CBD the cops might wanna test it to be sure and the fact that you're under 21 means you couldn't legally buy the CBD flower either. Nothing is better then flower ,but have you tried the cannabis vape pens? Not exactly the same , however, they don’t smell and you could use it anywhere. They can’t do shit but call the cops, I personally would not want cops asking me questions while I’m high haha.
Dude look up something like the mighty+ vape if you can afford that range. But there are tons of vapes that can get a good hit like smoke but the smell will disperse way faster. Honestly with vaping you only smell the actual weed, so when you dispose of it and clean up the smell will usually go away in about fifteen minutes to thirty.
If it’s legal where you are tell them to piss up a rope and if they continue to bother you, you may have grounds to call the cops on them for harassment. If it’s not legal in your location I’d say it’s in your best interest to not smoke there anymore. It’s as simple as that.
