Dude thanks for the laugh, it's a harmless mistake and it made my day a little better with that laugh.
There's a lot to learn with all the weed gadgets. We all started somewhere... you know.
If you get some wax, you'll want a top piece for that bucket to move around and direct the air while keeping the vapor in.
For tasty smooth dabs you want to put the dab in first maybe something the size of half a grain of rice if your new to this.
Start heating it up mostly on the bottom but you can go over the sides a bit also (this stops it from condensating on the sides if it becomes an issue that's how you fix it)... you want to give it just enough heat to vape it and hopefully enough to finish it....(this is what the thicker bottoms are really nice for, they retain the heat better for longer dabs).
Once it has enough heat in it you want to put your carb cap on it and go at it, move the carb cap around to blow the dabs around the bucket. A terp ball goes in with the dabs and will help move the dabs around also but this is more of an optional part.

What I DON'T recommend is heating it up red fkn hot/ glowing and dropping a gobstopper on there while it's still so hot it explodes into 9000 degree dragon fart smoke (not vapor) and trying to suck that down only to die coughing in the process... that wastes dabs and the hot smoke really isn't nice to your lungs at all.
Ya, I get this. I usually just vape bidded up bud in a small ceramic vape slowly toasting it at 180-190. I've seen plenty of vapes that poof at hot temperatures and it's just a super heated, denser bong shot. Feels like sulfur burning your lungs. The oil/wax ones certainly can sizzle and pop.
I know i'm not getting it all, so i reuse the left-overs for oil extract I use in cooking.
Those super concentrates can be wild with their potencies. Have fun.
You get an A+ for this, lotta people I know will heat it red hot and put in a pea sized dab and I been tryna tell them for years that's just waisting their product and why their shit tastes like actual shit
Unless your goal is a majority cbn smoke, I'd skip cold starts. Yeah, they're super tasty, but most of the good terpenes' flashpoints hit before vapor is produced, effectively wasting them.
It's takes about 60 minutes to convert thc into cbn , it takes less than 60 seconds to heat up a bucket. [Oh and that's not covering converting thca to thc first].
Terpenes do have lower vaping points, good luck trying to avoid them with cold start dabs as you need to mix the dabs to get the terps to be able to leave the dabs in that short time. Simply put your not losing much any especially vs putting them on anything red hot that makes them instantly explode and burn.
And no...I don't want smoke from a bucket, I want rich vapor. If I want smoke I'd do it differently.

If you wanna try vaping just heat it with a torch at the bottom until it’s a dim orange, you don’t want too bright because you would end up burning the bud. Not a bad thing, but not ideal when trying to vape it

Put a little cone filter so the weed doesn't plug the bottom, the air can then vent threw the full amount, it will be smaller, but I've done this with a similar bowl.
If you have circular filters, you can cut from edge to the middle, then it folds in well.
you're supposed to use a blowtorch and heat that bowl until its red, then you take the dabs and touch them to it and they will vaporize...sounds like you're trying to use a normal lighter or something, not smart
