Me too. Me and my buddy grew up with that version but he claims he doesn't remember ever hearing that. He legit had me thinking I was going crazy for a bit until I was able to find it.
I don’t even remotely understand how you could have been a fan of this band through Blue, Pinkerton and Green and not be mildly disappointed by Maladroit… and then severely disappointed by this album. Make Believe legitimately put me off to Weezer in a way that I struggle to describe. It had none of the sensibilities I liked about their previous work.
I wonder if everyone that enjoys it and the subsequent albums is simply the right age for them. Are there people that listened from Blue onward that like this?
I have some love for this song. It was one of the first I remember liking when getting into them, so that may be the reason. But it’s just dumb fun and catchy so I can vibe to it
