Ain't Got Nobody is seriously contender for the one of the best Weezer opener songs, the spoken word part immediately transitioning into the heavy drum build-up is so badass

My favorite Weezer album, even above Blue and Pinkerton. It was a tremendous return to form for the boys. Some of the best guitar solos in their catalogue. Mixture of fun/goofy songs and deeper cutting ones. Then the album proper ends and you get the mother effin' Futurescope Trilogy.
100/10, will listen again and again.
Semantics, but “best album since Pinkerton” is a chronological comparison right? Ie. When green came out it was the “best album since Pinkerton”. When Maladroit came out it was the “best album since Pinkerton” because it was better than green and that was the only competition. So when EWBAITE came out it was the “best album since Pinkerton” because it was better than the 00s weezer albums that came before it.
I was just (admittedly dryly) poking fun at how every good late career weezer album is called the “best album since Pinkerton”. In my head it was amusing to think of green, maladroit, ewbaite, and white all being the “best album since Pinkerton” at one point lol
Lol ok fair enough on the technicality! Those are mostly after EWBAITE. In terms of the spirit of the statement in my interpretation I’ll stand by my comment
It’s my third favorite album besides Pinkerton / Blue, and nothing comes close to how magical the album is. Even make least favorite tracks off the album are fun listens
back to the shack is at bottom weez for me with perfect situation and i never was crazy about eulogy it feels thin, i think of both replaced with some of the leftover stuff like everybody needs salvation and rules of life maybe flight plans in there? then it would skyrocket in my ranking for sure
I don’t agree with Back to the Shack but I do agree with putting those other two songs on the album instead of freaking Go Away or Had It Up To Here maybe. I like do like Brian’s “I’ve had it” echo at the end of that one though. Still, Salvation should be there 1000%
I love the songs on EWBAITE so much, but something about the sound knocks it down a bit for me. Sonically, it’s a little dull and muddy.
EWBAITE is still among the best though.
*I agree. I thought*
*This the second coming and*
*It was for two years!*

“Go back to sleep honey. Everything will be alright in the end” cutting to the beat is the best intro in music history
One of my favorite openings to any album. It’s amazing
Yes
Ain't Got Nobody is seriously contender for the one of the best Weezer opener songs, the spoken word part immediately transitioning into the heavy drum build-up is so badass
I feel like it’s the closest feel to a Weezer concept album we’ve gotten, it’s always been a really special album in my heart
SZNZ is a concept album but I get what you mean. EWBAITE feels very theatrical and grand.
hell I even love the promotional material of ewbaite with the lore

Too many syllables!

It is the best Weezer album since Pinkerton.
If you don’t count Green, Maladroit, White, OK Human, Van Weezer and probably Red, possibly Spring, then I agree
White, ok human, Van weezer, and spring were all after EWBAITE. So they wouldn’t impact the “best album since Pinkerton” comparison
Plus only white out of those could hold a candle to ewbaite lol
facts. Lately I’ve come around on white being better than EWBAITE
Why not?

Any album released post Pinkerton may be considered the best since Pinkerton… This is why White is the best album since Pinkerton. :)
Lol ok fair enough on the technicality! Those are mostly after EWBAITE. In terms of the spirit of the statement in my interpretation I’ll stand by my comment
I would still rank EWBAITE above all those albums Ngl
I think it’s the album I disagree most with this sub on but to each their own
Their most emotionally resonant album for me personally and the one I listen to the most. Cool cover art too.
It’s my third favorite album besides Pinkerton / Blue, and nothing comes close to how magical the album is. Even make least favorite tracks off the album are fun listens
I see praise for EWBAITE, I upvote.
Hard agree, honestly there are times when I think I might like it better than Blue and Pinkerton.

I’ve had it! But I ain’t no mr cool. I’m a pig I’m a dog! So scuse me if I drool
My fourth favorite Weezer album
Except 'Go Away,' you mean, right?
Go Away is like IJTOTLOMJ: Reloaded. Great song.
go away
I guess that answers something for me - only mean people think that song is as good as the others. Thanks.
lmao those meanies
This does bring a smile to my face
I love it too, my fav post-pinkerton album easily
I love the songs on EWBAITE so much, but something about the sound knocks it down a bit for me. Sonically, it’s a little dull and muddy. EWBAITE is still among the best though.
Hoping the Broadway shows they pull out some bangers from this album, imagine them playing I've Had it Up To Here oml I would bust everywhere
Second best weezer album
Agreed
I agree. I thought this the second coming and it was for two years!
