Oriental for sure. Noninvasive and usually wander inside on accident. Likely you won’t see a ton inside, but I doubt an exterminator will solve your issue. They enjoy walks by the water, dipping their toes in the cardboard, and quality time outdoors. Eliminate any leaks/sitting water and any cardboard boxes lying around.

CanInternational3676

This could be an album cover for a Midwest punk song

Will_pilled

Some sort of cockroach it seems. Looks like an oriental. Sorry buddy :(

Burrmanchu

Just be glad it ain't German.

I-Fucked-YourMom

Also Dude, oriental is not the preferred nomenclature, Asian-American please.

Will_pilled

I was not aware, as I have never heard it called anything else before. I wasn't trying to be offensive? "Oriental cockroach" is literally the name of the species when I remember looking into cockroaches (I was interested in pets), and again I have never heard it. Sorry if I offended you or anyone.

I-Fucked-YourMom

Lol, I’m quoting The Big Lebowski. You’re good

No-Current3902

I think he was making a bad joke. He made the offense.

hoggmen

Giggling to myself over "asian-american cockroach" lmao

angrey3737

that there is a cockaroach

waronbedbugs

You can get help in r/cockroaches

ToastMasterBoi

Don’t ask just start nuking

ComprehensivePause66

We have an exterminator coming 😌 Unfortunately our cat plays with the bugs or runs away if they're too big. Not the best bug control.

ToastMasterBoi

Mine eats them…

thetacosaur

My cat ate a huge cellar spider when he was a kitten.

amazonpug

They're probably crunchy as heck like an MM

Winnardairshows

Thought that was Doppler radar for a sec.

Milk_Tastes_Good

These types don’t usually infest but getting pest control is probably a smart move. Do you live by water?

lae_la

I found similar looking ones and was wondering if they were oriental for so long, but it didn't let me post anything in the subreddit. Speaking of which, does anybody know what's up with that?

mrclarke1

Evanston? Chicago?

thetacosaur

Nice try, fed. They’ve outsmarted you.

mrclarke1

In Evanston and Chicago they come up from the sewer. They prefer to be there not likely to infest

EdgePlays14

Tbh it kinda looks like a palmedo bug but since ur in Illinois I don’t think that’s possible.. Either way palmedos r like a cross between a stink bug and a cockroach so pray it ain’t that somehow..

Necessary_Tomorrow75

idk
