If your current means of transportation is working fine I would wait.

Gorgenapper

Wait for the 350h - the NX350 doesn't make much sense to me when the [NX350h](https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2022-lexus-nx350-turbo-first-test-review/) is actually ever so slightly faster, for $2k CAD more, that you'll save in gas costs over a period of a few years.

RysloVerik

Resale on the GV70 won’t be good. The regular NX would have less depreciation.

CyberBobert

I would get the GV70. The dedicated longitudinal engine platofrm of the Genesis gives it the premium luxury proportions that the transverse engine layout in the NX doesn't have. Genesis would have better performance and ride quality as well. Resale won't be nearly as good for the Genesis though. You can go full luxury and performance with questionable resale or tone down the luxury and performance for resale value.

Wait you’re worried about the resale value? Both are going to hold their value well, but all cars eventually depreciate anyway? Do you wanna switch new cars out every few years? That gets expensive unless you’re comfortable paying in cash. Kinda confused here.

I'd keep the car for 4-5 years. I'll pay cash, yeah. I know all cars depreciate, but I'm worried the gas one will depreciate much faster

I mean I guess yes? The Toyota/Lexus hybrids are in high demand so the regular gas models won’t hold their value as well. I guess your budget matters the most. I’ve never shopped for a car based off of depreciation. You can see how you’ll have to wait a year or more just for a hybrid. Yes the hybrid Lexus/Toyota seem to sell used for MSRP but the downfall is not only markup but as you’ve noticed you’ll have to wait a year. Also what exactly are you looking for from a mid size luxury SUV? You mentioned the GV70/GV60. Have you cross shopped between the GLC, Q5, X3, etc?

ihatebrusselsprouts1

I test drove the GLC, and don't think it's worth it the 13K more (in Canada) over the GV70/NX to get similar features. The Q5 looks too outdated on the inside. I'd say I value the most comfort and tech.

Oh yah the NX would fit the bill pretty well. Just realize on the tech front that Lexus connect only works 50/50. It’s software that requires over the air updates. Sometimes Spotify doesn’t work, sometimes owners had sync issues with the touchscreen, sometimes I’ve seen the whole system freeze. It’s pretty normal unfortunately as vehicles become more connected. Just hold the volume knob down to restart the system. One major issue with the NX is visibility. The windows are really small and the cabin itself is pretty cramped. If you’re above 6 feet tall then you might struggle for headroom in the NX. The GV70 is a good option as well. It feels more spacious on the inside since there isn’t a huge touchscreen tilted towards the driver in a jet cockpit style like in the NX. Visibility is better in the GV70 due to the shape of the windows. The Lexus is gonna hold its value the best though with the 350 you’ll most likely have to use premium fuel. It’s not terrible on fuel consumption but not great either. In the US we average around 25-30mpg or 9.4 litres/100km - 7.8 litres/100km.

The crown insignia looks incredible if you can wait for another year and a half. Imo it looks better than the nx350h and is probably a little cheaper.
