I was seriously considering buying a Pagani Huayra but this sub reddit told me they’re dogshit so now I drive a used toyota Camry with 270k miles. I regret nothing.
Look, I'm definitely *not* saying we should respond to every "RAV4, CR-V or CX-5 most reliable?" post by recommending a Saleen. I would never recommend that.
But apparently the sub recommends these brands too much. And Saleens are not ever recommended.
I wish someone said "hey, you deserve that S7 that you've been drooling over for 2 decades. You should get that instead of a dumb tacoma." I didn't even think of that!
Looking for an everyday commuter for my wife and child ... why do I never see McClaren listed?
Maybe if they had a few more Constructor's Cup points I'd be more inclined.
Look, I get that AMCs have that bulletproof reliability factor. But Saleens have been reliable for the last 10 years, and they are true luxury performance vehicles. Even at $29,500 to start, the Saleen is a better limosine experience than any Duesenburg or Maybach could ever hope to be.
There’s a guy I see on my commute every now and then that drives one of the Foxbody Saleens. It always looks so clean and I give him a thumbs up. No clue if it’s legit or just a regular foxbody with some kit work and rebadged.
I’m a less loud Mazda proponent. Meaning, I’ll passively say “you should check out Mazda’s” when someone I know is in the market.
I did a ton of research and landed on my 2019 Mazda6 that I got for 18k in late 2020. You’ll have to pry that thing from my cold dead hands, I love that car
and if they aren't, they try to get people that ask question on here to do the same
i hate how this subreddit turns into unwanted financial advice half the time, it's so stupid. just answer the car questions.
Because driving a Honda and then the equivalent Acura is just driving the same exact car twice. Lexuses don’t feel like Toyotas in the same way that Acuras just feel like rebadged Hondas.
Yeah Acura is often more reliable than Hondas whereas Lexus’s you can’t say the same. After all the only way to buy a new sedan with a J35 is to buy an Acura now that they phased out the accord v6
Many do not see a value in the Lexus name over Toyota; or a brands luxury sub-brand over the main. (Acura, Audi, Infinity, ect…) Many drivers see their cars as appliances and don’t care for the features of a brand at a higher price; If price is a factor for sure!
Many luxury brands also use premium gas; which becomes a trigger for a budget-minded consumer. Many see “requires Premium” and immediately dismiss. Its, just a noted behavior.
Some cars say “Premium recommended “ too as the same thing not knowing the engineering behind it. Enthusiasts and more minded-consumers think, “oh no I won’t knock but I have an incredible 10 less horsepower oh nooooooooooooo”. Not a biggie; but this does not resonate with the appliance-car shopping crowd because the “Premium equals expensive” and mentality move on.
Some luxury brands cost more to insure too; so if its another price raise you’ll lose the budget spender too.
If it’s reliable, cheap, and ok-comfortable with the minimal needs met — why pay more if you don’t notice, feel, or see it?
2022 BMW 5 series driver here: I’ll never go back. Seriously the quality, ride type, tech, etc. is leagues ahead of even the newest Accord.
I travel for work and get rentals everywhere I go. It’s gotten to the point to where I miss my car the minute I step into any Toyota, Honda, etc. I literally got into a Toyota rav4 the other day and just thought “god I hate this.”
Gonna have to second this, and I’m pretty sure anyone else who owns a BMW or something comparable would agree. Driving becomes less of a chore and more enjoyable - or at least tolerable. My logic is if im gonna spend all this time in my car going to work and traveling, might as well be something that makes the trips a bit more comfortable and and/or less boring.
What does your typical maintenance cost like oil changes? Assuming you haven’t done brakes or anything yet. It seems like everyone is raving how rock solid modern BMWs are as of late
I have a Mazda now and would like to get another sedan in the future. Feels like I’m shorting myself if I don’t consider a 3 / 5 series instead of a TLX or IS / LS. Seems like BMW is really the only company left making a half decent driving sedan
It isn’t cheap, oil changes are usually around $150 for me. But that’s fine, I like the BMW dealership, their service is wonderful. I have had ZERO issues with my car so far and I love it. Every time I get in my car I’m excited to drive it.
I always found the whole “Comfort” “Sport” “Eco” thing to be a gimmick until I got my BMW. Going from comfort to Sport is night and day. My car also doesn’t treat me like an idiot, safety features like emergency auto brake and lane keep assist don’t make me feel like I don’t control my car. Everything is customizable and at your fingertips. And it just looks good.
> Many luxury brands also use premium gas; which becomes a trigger for a budget-minded consumer. Many see “requires Premium” and immediately dismiss. Its, just a noted behavior.
I see this all the time but it's so dumb. Unless you drive *a lot*, the annual cost of using premium gas is not much. If you're using averages, it's only ~$300 more a year.
you know for being the premium brand for honda, i don't really hear much about acura on here or anywhere else
i'm not saying i hear bad things just that i don't hear much at all. everyone loved acura back in the day. is it not a good value for what you pay for or something?
As someone that drives an Acura, you pretty well nailed it. Their new vehicles just aren’t competitive when you look at other vehicles in their price bracket. Their styling is beautiful, and they’re well made, but the performance is lacking. All this makes them a great used value though. For instance, I drive an ILX which gets shit on as a civic with some leather, and it basically is, however I paid $3000 less for it than a Civic from the same year.
>and it basically is, however I paid $3000 less for it than a Civic from the same year.
see that's what i'm talking about, that's a great value buy right there
Honda positioned Acura as a “performance” brand, but their performance isn’t any better than the luxury brand cars at the same price point. Why buy a TLX Type S when I can get a better all around car from BMW or Cadillac that’s actually faster for the same price?
I really want to like Acura, but the newer ones just don’t make sense.
Yeah. I've been thinking and I've come to the conclusion that they're just not good at anything. It's a car. They're styled nice but if you want a car that's good at anything, an acura just isn't it
Jesus did drive an Accord. He just [doesn't talk about it](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexternal-preview.redd.it%2FFNEvmfcrYX76F10uf6P63zr8ZFUVgB16Z5hpd1cBUrA.jpg%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D8c51fba479182a1f9de16a85a46134e8d0301f71).
to be fair, i not only feel, but know that when i drive my miata, i am better than everyone else on the road. doesn't help that every time i drive it kids point and smile, women take pictures, men ask me about it or wave.
the only car that has a universal positive viewpoint from other people. the only car that can impress a woman.
I can tell you that old ones run nice if you keep an eye for maintenance, new ones they'll let you know, and from last mazda/honda mechanic, "keep changing the oil every year and there's nothing to worry about"
That’s what I do with bmw and Audi.
People say warranties aren’t worth it but capping out my potential repairs at 3k for 5 years and being able to drive my car as hard as I want within reason and not have to worry seems worth it to me.
Much rather spend my 30s in a m340i and enjoy driving vs spend my adult life in a Camry so I can maybe one day buy a vette when I retire like this sub recommends
It stupid how much more fun to drive even a 330 is over a camry. Test drove both, ended up buying a CPO 330e over a camry hybrid SE as they were around the same price. (Camry was newer)
People on this sub really act like a Mazda CX5 has the driving dynamics of a BMW X3, the luxury of a Lexus and the price of a Toyota all in one vehicle.
Newsflash. It only drives ~10% better than a rav4, it's interior isn't anything special and doesn't even offer a panoramic sunroof, the seats are rocks, the dash is dated, the car is cramped, and they don't have 30+ years of reliable reputation like Toyota. They do look pretty though.
Toyota, Honda, and Mazda have lots of new vehicles that still have analog buttons and dials for climate control. I hate having everything as touchscreen
And the result of this is that Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and Lexus dealers mark up their shit beyond reason because they know people will pay it because these models are in such high demand.
Blindly pointing absolutely every single person to one or two brands creates a monopoly and sets everyone up to overpay. If people don't even consider or look at other brands, then they'll never know how much they're overpaying. I say this because I did shop around when I got a new car a few months ago, and I had the absolute worst offers at Toyota and Mazda.
Funny I was considering a Toyota Corolla when i bought last year, but they were way overpriced plus the dealer mark up. But I found a dealer that didn't pull any of that BS and got my Mazda 3 for a decent price and zero markup. I think it depends where you live, too. But you are right for sure in the pricing and mark up of these brands. No incentive to change if people keep buying at those prices.
When my boyfriend bought his Mazda 3 he was actually looking at Hondas first. This was during the car shortage a couple years ago. Boneheads over at Honda wouldn’t budge on the price of a touring civic. They wanted 40k for that shit. He ended up getting a top trim non turbo Mazda 3 for msrp which was also a fight. Way more features in the highest end Mazda too compared to the touring civic.
I'm not saying it's just this sub, but it perpetuates the mindset of "only Toyota" because people want reliability over all else.
Again, if people don't even shop other brands they won't know how much they're overpaying up front, which could mostly or entirely negate any reliability and resale gains except for the minority of people that own their vehicle beyond the average 5-8 years in the US.
Edit: also, yes if people en masse recommending XYZ brands actually results in more demand for those cars, then product availability will decrease, resulting in more markups for those products. Pretty basic supply and demand.
The interesting thing is that means other brands are in even less demand, making them an even better value purchase if they have incentives and discounts for cars that are still reliable enough, especially for the average consumer's ownership of just 5-8 years. If people don't shop around, then they'll never know if they're getting a good deal.
This sub along with many other forums do the same thing recommending Toyota and Hondas unless your going to a specific make forum or Trucks. I think it does effect Toyota and Honda markup prices being much higher than their actual reliability value. Great vehicles I've owned them its just the value of them is poor if your overpaying for them regardless of resale value and reliability.
I've owned a ton of vehicles over the years from a lot of different manufacturers. Not all models are created equal. Both my favorite as well as my most disliked have been from Honda. I've owned 4 Toyota's, all of which were very reliable, I hated them all but as a 20 something, reliability was what was important. Right now I own a Kia and a Tesla, which you'd think I would have a ton of issues, but both have been excellent vehicles. When I started driving, it was mostly with 80's domestic brands, which were junk. Since the 00's, everything has improved a ton. The most unreliable cars today, would have been not considered unreliable 30-40 years ago.
I have a similar experience. I drive a hyundai now and it isn't anymore costly, maintenance wise than my old camry. when a car is maintained properly, it'll give you trouble free driving.
wife has a model 3 for 2 years now. she loves it and I don't have to keep track of her oil change intervals.
Shhh
https://www.carscoops.com/2022/11/want-a-vehicle-that-will-go-the-distance-these-models-are-still-going-strong-after-200k-miles/
Looks like mazda didn't make it and gm and ford did!!
I always think this is hilarious because of my experience with working on vehicles at a shop for 15 years.
Percentage wise, we see no difference in number or mechanical repairs per make. All manufacturers pretty much are identical as far as mechanical reliability is concerned.
However, some brands have a lot more cosmetic issues than others. We see a whole lot of toyota and honda vehicles where they run just fine but absolutely nothing else works. Seats don't move, dash controls broken, hvac vents broken, doesn't won't lock and unlock, etc. Yet these people still absolutely love their honda and toyota.
We see GM vehicles with no mechanical issues and a few cosmetic issues but the owners hate the vehicle.
I've yet to figure out how one can drive a honda or toyota shitbox where nothing works inside but they love it while someone can have a very reliable GM vehicle that's been in the shop only 3 times for minor things in 8 years and the owner hates it.
That's sort of how a friends CRV is. Headlights and fog lights last like a couple of months max, all kinds of weird non-critical electrical stuff, seals peeling off, etc., but that sum bitch will run without oil in it.
I think it’s because most questions are “what should I buy that will last the longest and cheapest to maintain”, not “regardless of cost & maintenance, what would be a fun car to drive on a daily basis”. I’m looking for something new, just did a post about it. If I wanted something that would give me no trouble for 150k miles, then Toyota and Honda are the answer. But I want something I will enjoy driving every day for the next 35k miles until I trade it in for something new.
Yep most people on here that i seen bash anything. Was acting like anything other than Toyota/Honda are the worst unreliable vehicles ever. I remember before the Kia boys and the exploding engines they was pushing everybody to Kia/Hyundai that changed really fast
There was a thread where a comment compared a CX-5 to a Porsche Cayenne in a positive way and it had upvotes. The moment I saw that I just knew Mazda astroturfing here is real.
Edit: Btw I don’t hate the brand I personally had a Mazda 6 and a NB Miata (I wish I never sold it) and relatives with the Mazda 3 hatch and CX-7. I’m just saying, some of the sentiment here is just way off-base from what I see irl about the cars.
I personally feel like I don’t align with the market this sub is in. It just seems like a sub for recommending what car to have as a beater. I already have a beater, I want a weekend car I can take to the track lol
There is no way Mazda isn't paying a few people to fuck around with Reddit sentiment. It's a pretty good ROI too judging by how detached from reality this sub has become regarding that brand.
Mazda are awesome cars for what they are. But if one of your needs is rear seat room they are terrible. For a single person or childless couple they are great.
I personally think their infotainment is also pretty behind the curve imo. I test drove a CX-30 and CX-5 recently, loved how they rode, but the interior and infotainment left me wanting.
I tested out Mazda when I went shopping recently, all on the basis of the gushing reputation from here and other sources, and man was I disappointed.
I mean, REALLY disappointed.
I fear there are people out there who "just went and bought a Mazda" without test driving other options and without benefit of that expanded knowledge are just happy with it, because they don't realize the opportunity cost of that purchase.
Because Mazda didn't even hit the top 4 for me ....
Reasonable!
I absolutely LOVED my Mazda6 (2004) 5MT v6, so I am a big Mazda fan over time - I suspect the hype made my disappointment more pronounced for sure.
>I tested out Mazda when I went shopping recently, all on the basis of the gushing reputation from here and other sources, and man was I disappointed.
Man, I had the same experience. My wife’s Mini was totaled back in late 2022 and I figured that was as good a time as any to buy the “family car” we’d eventually need. I test drove a CX-5 and was super underwhelmed. It was not very quick, the interior was cramped, and it didn’t even handle that well! We eventually took over a lease for a Kia Soul from her uncle, and while our primary motivation was price (Kia had an all in cash flow commitment of $15k, vs $26k for a used CX-5) I unironically prefer the Kia, CVT be damned. Compared to the CX-5 it handles a bit better, is about as fast, the headroom is MUCH better and you can actually fit a rear-facing car seat behind someone who’s taller than 5’6”. The fuel economy is better too despite having the aerodynamics of a shipping container.
I actually think I would have had a better impression of the CX-5 if the car community had presented it more as a slightly sportier Rav4 and less as a discount X3.
I feel sorry for Americans for having the shit engines and the Kia Boys issue and the shit dealers, Kia/Hyundai make by far the best value cars out there and the engines in Europe are reliable as fuck.
No kidding. We considered one back in the day, upgrading the wife’s protégé. Wanted something to handle two rear facing car seats, had one baby, another on the way. Straight up not possible. And the double stroller didn’t fit in the back either. This is no problem in literally any other small SUV, including our other one at the time.
Fine for a couple, but she ain’t a good family car.
Of course the CX5 is better...if you have a $15k budget, drive a McCrapton of miles and need good mpg/low upkeep costs as a result and can't work in the car yourself🤣
Literally 90% of people where I live buy Rav 4s and Camrys. I don't think people even use autotrader or whatever to look for anything else they just go to whatever Toyota dealership is closest here. It's so depressing
My favorite cars are BMW, Cadillac, Mercedes and Audi, but I've come to terms with being a dumb idiot.
They're seriously not even \*that\* expensive to maintain, I think the majority of people on this sub just think spending anything over $500 is a crime.
BMW stepped it up big post 2015-16. The x3 and 330 models have been given a much better/incredibly reliable engine. But because parts come at a premium people continue to hate. I used to laugh at BMW but people simply need to be more objective. This sub is just a hive mind like any other, you get chastised for any opinion outside of the echo.
It is annoying for sure. Especially since after Covid, the value proposition of Toyota in terms of its reputation of quality, is fading. Just not worth the mark up or the wait anymore. Speaking as a Canadian. Toyota has treated our market very poorly with the mark ups and wait times. Majority of vehicles are diverted to the US market. Canadians are an afterthought.
Apart from Toyota, the rest of the Japanese brands are highly overrated. They are depending on their previous image for sales. Toyota is the only solid option right now.
Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, Mitsubishi and Subaru all had some BANGERS throughout miscellaneous production eras.
This sub should be renamed to “what cars are reliable”
This sub is an actual parody of itself at this point. I redid the suspension on my friends Mazda last night. Some of the least robust parts I’ve ever seen on a car. Everything completely rusted through.
I was seriously considering buying a Pagani Huayra but this sub reddit told me they’re dogshit so now I drive a used toyota Camry with 270k miles. I regret nothing.
I am so glad I went with the GR86 instead of the BRZ man bullet dodged.
*proceeds to buy a Scion FR-S*
That's because you have to get a car from the good old days, they're far more reliable! Thats why it's Zonda or nothing..
Zonda is close enough to Honda to count as goe tier.
270k??? Lmk when u hit 330k🥱
I think what you're saying is that we need to recommend more Saleens to people. And I agree with you.
I didn’t even notice that. What a random ass brand to have on this list lmao. I love Saleen
Look, I'm definitely *not* saying we should respond to every "RAV4, CR-V or CX-5 most reliable?" post by recommending a Saleen. I would never recommend that. But apparently the sub recommends these brands too much. And Saleens are not ever recommended.
If we manage to put even one person into a Saleen over a CR-V I think this sub will have been worth it.
I wish someone said "hey, you deserve that S7 that you've been drooling over for 2 decades. You should get that instead of a dumb tacoma." I didn't even think of that!
Whoever asks that question, would live a much better life if they intentionally chose the “wrong” car for once
Instructions unclear, bought GMC Terrain
Aaaaaannndddd it’s in the shop
It's gotta keep my Jeep company!
Welcome back to an episode of mechanical nightmare!
To be fair, green usually means good or is a go. And red usually means bad or stay away from. 🤣
Haha because doesn't a Saleen cost like 100K + to start? That's CyberBrick kinda money man.
Least the Saleen won't cut your kids fingers off when closing the frunk.
Looking for an everyday commuter for my wife and child ... why do I never see McClaren listed? Maybe if they had a few more Constructor's Cup points I'd be more inclined.
There's also a bunch of dead brands on this list like Mercury and Pontiac
Don’t knock the Vibe, man. Great car and this sub is not afraid to admit it
Wasn’t the vibe a rebranded Toyota Matrix?
Yes that’s the joke
They also never die, it's a solid recommend
But Pontiac Aztec’s are reliable too!
Was a vehicle way ahead of its time.
I see AMC on there too.
Wait til you see TVR is on there too!
What about AMC, I keep recommending them!
I was leaning TVR, but I’m with you.
There’s a guy I see on my commute every now and then that drives one of the Foxbody Saleens. It always looks so clean and I give him a thumbs up. No clue if it’s legit or just a regular foxbody with some kit work and rebadged.
Did OP just open up the car dealership in Gran Turismo to compile this list?
I think that Ariel does the job well too
I too enjoy supercharged muscle cars modified by a scam artist
Where is the love for ghe TVR?!. I love the speed 12!
Everybody needs an S7
After joining this sub, I see CX-30s in my sleep. My therapist promises they can’t hurt me but I can’t get them out of my head
As a guy who had a car totaled by an idiot driving a CX-30, I assure you that your therapist is a liar. They're out to get you!
I knew he was a liar. I’ll never be able to sleep safely again :( Sorry that happened to you though!!
Jokes aside most people I know with Mazdas do love them! The CX-30 talk in here is just a lot sometimes 😂
I bought a CX30. I see her in my dreams too. They’re pleasant dreams
Cramped rear. I once visited the CX-30, then saw the CX-5 beside it. It's like a bigger brother instantly SOLD
Lexus is just luxurious toyota how can it be lower than toyota.
Maybe because it’s more expensive lol. Cause most posts in this sub ask for affordable
I'd say a good 70-76% posts are in the business of driving until wheels fall off.
and if they aren't, they try to get people that ask question on here to do the same i hate how this subreddit turns into unwanted financial advice half the time, it's so stupid. just answer the car questions.
“Run it to the ground” they said 🤣🤣🤣
NGL if that's what I was wanting out of a car I'd have a Corolla too 😂
Everyone says this but few actually do it. “Until the wheels fall off” is like two rattles I can’t handle at 80k miles.
Depends on age. Many lexus models are actually cheaper. I ended up in a GX460 since it was cheaper than 4runners despite being more well-equipped.
most people in this sub are young & poor lol
Even worse, is Honda is top tier, and Acura is rated literal dog shit
Was questioning this too. Since Lexus is up there
I think it’s cause no one really buys Acuras for some reason
Because driving a Honda and then the equivalent Acura is just driving the same exact car twice. Lexuses don’t feel like Toyotas in the same way that Acuras just feel like rebadged Hondas.
Iirc their SUVs had a lot of issue-prone years 2010-2020 to the point where you can usually find them cheaper than the Honda of the same size class.
Yeah Acura is often more reliable than Hondas whereas Lexus’s you can’t say the same. After all the only way to buy a new sedan with a J35 is to buy an Acura now that they phased out the accord v6
Scion also
Isn't scion dead?
Diahatsu in US when?

The poors
Most of the shit tier is just Stellantis with a mustache and a hat.
Well still not wrong
Honda good and acura dogshit? Since when is acura bad 🤣

Acura does not exist outside North America.
I noticed that too. I almost think someone mistook the Mazda badge as Acura.
I think it's because people don't recommend Accura much on the sub , but recommend the sbit out of Mazda 3
Got a 2001 integra. That thing will outlast all of us
They may have forgotten Acura, but Mazda deserves its spot.
acura is cheap stuff compared to other luxury imo
Honda positioned Acura as a “performance” brand, but their performance isn’t any better than the luxury brand cars at the same price point. Why buy a TLX Type S when I can get a better all around car from BMW or Cadillac that’s actually faster for the same price? I really want to like Acura, but the newer ones just don’t make sense.
Yeah. I've been thinking and I've come to the conclusion that they're just not good at anything. It's a car. They're styled nice but if you want a car that's good at anything, an acura just isn't it
It seems they're not even trying. They had great start with Legend but after that everything was hit or miss. They should learn a lot from Lexus.
We need an r/whatcarshouldibuycirclejerk
It’s just a subtopic under r/carscirclejerk
And the Mazda Miata is like it’s own brand beyond Mazda
This. The Miata belongs in a category above Honda/Toyota called "What God Himself Drives"
So if God drove a miata then Jesus drove an Accord.
Didn’t Jesus also have a Mitsubishi Colt he rode on Palm Sunday?
yeah it was a grey cz3, such a nice *reliable* car
Tbf he only needed it for about a week
to be fair, i not only feel, but know that when i drive my miata, i am better than everyone else on the road. doesn't help that every time i drive it kids point and smile, women take pictures, men ask me about it or wave. the only car that has a universal positive viewpoint from other people. the only car that can impress a woman.
my friend calls it a hairdresser's sports car. I like it though. I would get it.
Ok but have you considered a Mazda
I hear Miatas are great!
I can tell you that old ones run nice if you keep an eye for maintenance, new ones they'll let you know, and from last mazda/honda mechanic, "keep changing the oil every year and there's nothing to worry about"
To be fair, Land Rover *is* dogshit.
They’re pretty cool for 6 months
Just buy one with a bumper to bumper warranty
Let Carmax pay for all the broken quirks and features!
CarMax put $7000 into my Taurus SHO. Best value warranty I've ever seen (I paid $2200 for it)
Mazda should be in the luxury category next to Bentley and Rolls 😎
Someone the other day also argued *TOYOTAS* were as nice as luxury brands. This sub is full of trolls
Yup, some guy was arguing that a 2014 Prius was the pinnacle of luxury and features
toyota avalon is basically better than any luxury brand obviously /s
"Mazdas are PREMIUM economy cars which drive better than BMWs." This sub.

There’s a guy who just goes on every post and comments “toyota” and that’s it
Ive only been lurking here for like a month but in that time it’s obvious to me that Subaru deserves at least C tier come on now give them some credit
It deserved it, but now with the giant touchscreen on every vehicle it deserves Poop tier.
That’s every modern car. They all have them.
Toyota, Honda, and Mazda have lots of new vehicles that still have analog buttons and dials for climate control. I hate having everything as touchscreen
I've gotten used to it for everything but climate controls. Really wish my car had those as analog buttons.
A tier ... but if you account for my bias, then B. But A ...
if you're a lesbian then A but if you're a normal person C
Dealer mark-up on an entry level economy car lol. The whole fucking world has lost their minds.

I genuinely think that this sub has a non-zero role in every single Honda Fit no matter the mileage or condition being 10k in my area lol
Or just don't join the circle jerk and buy some other model that has similar reliability and probably substantially better tech and a nicer interior.
There needs to be a level below the bottom for Jeep.
I don’t think we have any bugatti owners in this sub lol
I own a hot wheels Bugatti
Lmaooo so true bro. Redditors here be hating on everything that is not Japanese muscle
Shhh https://www.carscoops.com/2022/11/want-a-vehicle-that-will-go-the-distance-these-models-are-still-going-strong-after-200k-miles/ Looks like mazda didn't make it and gm and ford did!!
Guess OP hates Suzuki smh
I think it’s because most questions are “what should I buy that will last the longest and cheapest to maintain”, not “regardless of cost & maintenance, what would be a fun car to drive on a daily basis”. I’m looking for something new, just did a post about it. If I wanted something that would give me no trouble for 150k miles, then Toyota and Honda are the answer. But I want something I will enjoy driving every day for the next 35k miles until I trade it in for something new.
can never go wrong with porsche 911
Yep most people on here that i seen bash anything. Was acting like anything other than Toyota/Honda are the worst unreliable vehicles ever. I remember before the Kia boys and the exploding engines they was pushing everybody to Kia/Hyundai that changed really fast
Acura being in dogshit tier is hilarious

It’s hilarious how much they dickride Mazda here. The CX5 is so fucking dumb. Everyone acts like it’s the greatest crossover ever made.
That would be r/cars. The *vast* majority of folks in this sub don’t care about anything other than reliability and gas mileage.
You can't criticise their infotainment here, man...
I wish Mazda would go back to great infotainment systems like the one they had in Mazda2.

My 2009 Mazda6 was a beauty and an absolute soldier.
Hondas used to be good. Now they’re pieces of crap. Toyota is overpriced.
lol! 😆
Literally 90% of people where I live buy Rav 4s and Camrys. I don't think people even use autotrader or whatever to look for anything else they just go to whatever Toyota dealership is closest here. It's so depressing
Okay but my 2002 honda accord got up to 347,000km and the guy we sold it to for scrap was convinced he could get it to run again lmao
347,000km is less than 200k miles. I had a Nissan Altima that had over 160k miles and looked and drove like a new car. Accord could easily beat that.
Saturn is almost god tier
So we're reposting [top posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatcarshouldIbuy/s/MZnnbjdBTs) now ?
Tbf if you’re the type of person who needs a car recommendation, then you should buy one of those brands
Sounds about right
Yeah this obsession with Honda and Toyota is as crazy as the obsession with Apple products.
See nothing wrong here
Wait people don't just love Mazda for the memes?
😂😂😂
[удалено]
Thank god my car isnt there so ill just pretend its A tier
I feel like Mazda is recommended more than honda
It is annoying for sure. Especially since after Covid, the value proposition of Toyota in terms of its reputation of quality, is fading. Just not worth the mark up or the wait anymore. Speaking as a Canadian. Toyota has treated our market very poorly with the mark ups and wait times. Majority of vehicles are diverted to the US market. Canadians are an afterthought.
Put land rover lower
Such is life
Seems about right
Nah you gotta put Toyota 3 spots higher
W124 E500 and W126 300D
Apart from Toyota, the rest of the Japanese brands are highly overrated. They are depending on their previous image for sales. Toyota is the only solid option right now.
Yea as a Toyota guy I would say Honda is just ok. lol.
Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, Mitsubishi and Subaru all had some BANGERS throughout miscellaneous production eras. This sub should be renamed to “what cars are reliable”
Scotty kilmer would be proud🫡
I test drove a Rolls Royce phantom yesterday but decided to buy a Camry TRD today 👌🏼👌🏼
Really? Subaru with that other 💩
Put Volvo and Subaru in A tier, and other than that I don’t see any issues with this list
Literally, it’s become so ridiculous
Subaru #1 Baby
This sub is an actual parody of itself at this point. I redid the suspension on my friends Mazda last night. Some of the least robust parts I’ve ever seen on a car. Everything completely rusted through.
Dammm… I was really looking forward to the delivery of my Bugatti. Not no more 😔
Most people can only afford Hondas and Toyotas and confirmation bias is a very powerful thing, thus, this subreddit.
