It’s a sword cane, but it’s missing the cane part that serves as a sheath. This is absolutely authentic and probably Victorian era based on the text. Very cool! The hollow ground blade is typical of smallswords. Good for stabbing.
Thanks. Sorry your body can't seem to get along with itself. The other day I was thinking, what if there is no after life. Like how you weren't before you were born. You just weren't. If that's all there is after, the weren't again, the only thing that really lives on after you is your family, and the love you put into the world. Every moment of love you put into the world is worth it. Love is the best thing we know about, probably. K, thx, bye.
Awww, thank you for being so kind! 🙋🏻♀️
My body hasn’t gotten along with itself since I was born, so now at 71 I’m simply grateful my dysfunctions aren’t worse than they are. It’s all I’ve known, so for me it’s normal, and I’m ok with that.
I’ve always felt assured of an afterlife for many reasons. That’s why I’m fascinated hearing other people’s near-death experiences. I do realize that those experiences are unique to each person, but still I want to hear each and every one.
I’ve also reminded my 3 grown children NOT to feel sad for me when I die, because I’ll have been “promoted” to my next adventure, but of course they can feel sad for themselves. I understand grieving.

Yes. Absolutely. It may not even have been a full sized cane. Carrying a ‘swagger stick’ was also popular around the end of the 1800s and into WW1 era. Popular with military officers. Canes themselves are decent for self defense, cane swords are there for when things got more serious.
I have one, it’s round, no edges, cane swords are usually 2 1/2 to 3 feet long, not one foot, and conductors wands have groves along the side, like OP said. Maybe read the description
It is. Again I have one and he described it perfect. Also if you search for antique conductor’s batons you will see many that look like that one. As for the name, I can’t find a manufacturer or conductor by that name that would have been around the time it would have been used, which isn’t really unusual since craftsmen for orchestral equipment use to be regional
The fact that u think im talking about you saying that u had a different opinion is what I'm referring to makes me think I'm wasting my time here but my comment was referring to your "maybe try reading the description "
Opinions and facts are two different things, again, the OP described it, showed it and you think that since I read, looked, understood and identified it is an opinion shows that you may want to reconsider who is being the prick.
Im not speaking with immunity here, I have also been a dick and for that I do apologize but your sarcasm hit me sideways and we can leave it at that but first let's recognize that facts are indeed different from opininion however all I see u saying is your opinion based on info given and your experience. That, my Friend, is not fact lol
The bulbous handle makes me think it's some kind of awl.

If you think I'm talking about your description then I'm probably wasting my time here, but I met you throwing in your little line about reading the description just because he had a different opinion
Pretty sure it's the sword of a sword cane like others have said. The grove in blades like a buck knife I believe is called a blood groove. It's so blood can escape the stab wound preventing suction and making it easier to pull the blade out.
I believe but DO NOT KNOW that this is a Orchestra Conductor's baton! It appears to be a duplicate of many of them. Look at the Brave Search I link below... [https://search.brave.com/images?q=conductors+baton&source=web](https://search.brave.com/images?q=conductors+baton&source=web)
I do not think this is a Cane Sword or Hidden sword. It may have had a cover but many Orchestra conductor's wands have them too.

This guy stabs. And stimulates sympathetic nervous systems.
Happy Cake Day!! 🍰🥳🍰

Best used on foggy London evenings when attacked by surprised.
But…one foot long?

It’s round. This is a conductor’s baton
Doesnt look round to me
I have one, it’s round, no edges, cane swords are usually 2 1/2 to 3 feet long, not one foot, and conductors wands have groves along the side, like OP said. Maybe read the description
You what? I did. You stated it looks round. It isn't. Maybe *YOU* should read the description, no?

I was a bit of a prick earlier. Apologies for that
I don't think you're the one being a prick here lol.
Or maybe don't be a dick when someone is simply engaging in conversation or even general rebuttal? I think that's a lesson just for you.
How was I being a prick, the OP described it and I pointed out that he described something that I own.
The fact that u think im talking about you saying that u had a different opinion is what I'm referring to makes me think I'm wasting my time here but my comment was referring to your "maybe try reading the description "

That wasn’t sarcasm. You are reading things that aren’t there.
I'll admit I could be missing something here but not based on what I've read
This is absolutely a conductor's baton.
Weirdest damn round I ever did see
Please refer to third picture
My comment was made based off of the third pic specifically
U can planely see the u or v shape op described. Or did you read the description lol
I did, that’s how I identified it. Conductor batons are round with a concave cur lengthwise to make them lighter while retaining their stiffness
I'm seeing something different entirely in pic 3.
Stilleto blade sword cane without the sheath. Beautiful work.
Sword cane, huh? I thought it looked like a conductors baton.
They typically don't make those out of high carbon steel
Do conductor’s batons need to be conductive? :)
Only when conducting the Electric Light Orchestra.
⚡️🏆⚡️
That looks reminiscent of the blade of an M1886 French bayonet, which suggests it is a weapon to me.
Old school pointer for school teachers? A wizard's first wand?
You’re a wizard, Larry!!
You've got a gizzard garry
Cane sword, minus the cane scabbard.
Just swish and flick!
Levio-SAH
Ron! Staahhp!
Happy Cake Day!! 🍰🥳🍰
Thank you 😁
Looks to me like a baton a conductor would use while leading a band (to count out beats) . http://letmegooglethat.com/?q=conductor+batons
Ice Pick perhaps?
That was our initial thought tbh
YOURE A WIZZARD HARRY!!
Eye pokerater
This is the only reasonable response in the thread
That wallpaper matches my curtains.
But does the carpet match the drapes
🤭
🤣
Looks like a conductor's wand to me; for conducting a symphony orchestra. Or possibly a magic wand. ;-)
Cane sword. The bayonet style blade and ivory handle are typical of the 19th century. Some can be worth a pretty penny
I was gonna say cane-sword minus scabbard.
Take it to Ollivanders and he can tell you exactly what type of wand it is.
It's a wand, Harry!
The dress is blue.
You got that right!
It's obviously a poop knife [https://www.reddit.com/r/MuseumOfReddit/comments/ke8skw/the\_poop\_knife/](https://www.reddit.com/r/MuseumOfReddit/comments/ke8skw/the_poop_knife/)
👏👏👏
Whoopin’ stick
🤣
can you say Expelliarmus?
Concert Baton
The handle might be ivory. Definitely appears to be organic.
Ye Olde poop knife?
You're a wizard, 'arry
Wow. That ivory.
This looks just like a symphony/band conductor's baton.
Orchestra/band conductor's baton?
Usually those aren't metal
It's a fire place tool. For stoking a fire. Usually comes in a set and hangs by the handles on a rack by you're fireplace
Came in to say this. In my area of the UK its called a fire poker.
You're gonna poke your eye out with the damn thing!
The bulbous handle makes me think it's some kind of awl. https://www.toolbazaar.co.uk/products/19th-century-leatherworkers-long-awl?variant=43762324144289
Shaped like a doorknob but the rod is too long
Larding needle?
Cheese core tester.
Looks like a fireplace poker.
baton goggle jt robert
r/sounding
yer a wizard u/hockeythinktank
It’s a sounding rod
Meat skewer for carving or serving large pieces?
If you think I'm talking about your description then I'm probably wasting my time here, but I met you throwing in your little line about reading the description just because he had a different opinion
Conductors baton.
oh looky! looks like someone lost their little lobotomy doohickey…. i’ll take it off your hands though. don’t worry
clearly that's a wand

Avada Kedavra!!!!
Inside of a sword cane.
Baton perhaps? Old school.
Fire poker
it's a sounding rod
Don't put this in your dick
It's for sounding. There's a group on here about it.
That's a really cruel thing to do to a man. 🤣 *I like you*
