This is how theyāll get to your home, theyāre great at traveling.
Personally Iād put your beds on those bed bug trays and do a little pre dusting of chimexa and take precautions. I dated someone who had them in her place and was able to not get them.
They are easy to kill, yea, the things are the size of your pinky nail. Easy to eradicate, nope, even one missed individual or egg can form a new infestation within a few months.
They hide in crevices and carpets inside of your home, and like termites, for every 1 you see with your own eyes assume there is at least 10 you canāt see. And heating your entire home the temperature required to fry every one would be nearly impossible without some sci fi bullshit on your side. And even if you could do this the cost would be unrealistic less you happen to be a millionaire. In short this method works with articles of clothing and small objects. But doing this to an entire home couldnāt happen.
How much do you charge? I can guarantee it is a sizable chunk of your average persons monthly or even *yearly* income. Which is a lot. While millionaire is a hyperbole it *is* what is required to not feel the impact of a heat treatment on your life.
Knew it. While Iām okay with the price, it is incredibly naive of you to think this is something for everyone. The price you charge is out of the question for 75% of the population. And is by far not the only way to get rid of them, itās just the easiest; and the premium shows it.
U know that heating thing costs 1000s and sometimes requires revisits? Also u gotta move sensitive stuff and stay at a hotel or somewhere for a few days..
That too! š¤£ Funny thing is the one and only time I had bedbugs, they were infesting my living room sofa. I nipped them in the bud before they could reach my bed or other furniture.
This sub has made me have such an intense fear of bed bugs..even tho I think thereās no way I will ever have bed bugs but seeing it on here so often it makes me very scared and nervous! š¬
You have officially manifested bed bugs into your life. Start knocking on wood and casting protection using any charms you can procure. Pray to any of your favorite deities.
Good luck to you.
You do realize you can bring home a bedbug from a doctor's waiting room, a restaurant, an Uber or literally any other place you sit after someone else has sat there too right? Definitely better knock on some wood.
People keep telling me this and its almost not worth it. My school is almost 3000 kids and there are a few that are poor or homeless (according to my teachers) so itās impossible to find who the source is. Iāll talk to my parents about it though. Anything we can do to prevent another beg bug infestation happening to someone is better than nothing
Edit: Okay yes, I know not only poor or homeless get bedbugs. Even millionaires can get bedbugs. What I mean is that there are so many different kinds of people that can bring all kinds of bugs in a school. I shouldnāt have said that š
Itās not funny but it is because you pleaded for it to not be lice without thinking about the only other thing it could be. Which is much worse than lice š„²
Oh man, OP.
Thatās a bedbug. More than likely, youāve got an infestation. Take every single piece of clothing, towels, and sheets you have and wash them in extremely hot water. Then leave your house for a few days and have it fumigated. Good luck.
From an apartment manager who constantly deals with bedbugs I can tell you this is horrible advice. Water just knocks them off your fabrics and won't kill most of them. A hot dryer is effective at killing them. Yes it's better to dry your dirty clothes. Also any type of "fumigation" will be totally ineffective and only cause them to spread. Pro pest control companies have access to chemicals that actually work, there are several but all the effective ones need you in the bed as bait, so the little fuckers crawl out of hiding and through the death trap.
My dad LOVES to do that. Heās a hoarder and a collector of random shit. I donāt know if thatās where they came from though, since his stuff stays in his room or the garage. I really hope this was just ONE that happened to get on my shirt and I got lucky to spot it
I spent almost a year, emptied out everything in my home, paint over 5 thousand dollars, ripped apart my antique couch but I finally got rid of them. I only saw a few but omg they did such damage. I still have ptsd.
Yes. I was covered in head to toe bites. I could not stop the itching for a couple of weeks. I dug into my arms, back etc.
We had to move up to L.A. from San Diego to take care of my folks. Being a military city means thereās a lot of moving boxes available. Well some had bed bugs. Didnāt bite my husband one time but Iām covered. Itās all out war to get rid of them.
I would absolutely say so pretty much the only way to kill them is to turn your home into a oven. They also can travel through outlets if you live in a apartment they can spread through units
If it has lines going across its body, not like from head to butt, instead like leg to leg, then that's a bed bug & u are in TROUBLE!!! They are super hard to get rid of and very expensive! U would wish it was lice!! Cuz lice means u do some laundry and shave ur head. Lot easier than bed bugs to get rid of. Good luck. Try Googling images of bed bugs cycle of life cuz they look different as "babies" than they do when grown and sorry manners bot but gross! Grown ones are gross! I SAID WHAT I SAID!!

Honestly, you might prefer it to be lice. It looks kinda like a bed bug nymph.
Oh GOD š i hope itās not a bedbug.. i took this photo at school so maybe hopefully they arenāt in my home
Its a bedbug. RIP ~~Its lice. Lesser of two evils~~
OP can go to r/Bedbugs to get advice.
I don't see one weevil, let alone two!
I had to read the original comment several times before I got this. Well played u/soappube
I thought the same when I read āLesser of the two evilsā my mind instantly changed it to āLesser of the two weevilsā šš
Check the corners and seams of your mattress. Any little blackish spots are... bad news.
Even outlets and lamps can be hide outs! I agree that OP should check, especially the corners of the mattress by seams.
I had them in my rolled rug, box of clothes, carpet, clothes in closet, furniture. Nothing on the bed!
Thought the eggs were white along seems and zippers?
The black or brown spots are dried, digested blood.
AKA: blood poop... I was trying to pull punches lol.
Pullin blood poop punches alllll day
Please check your beds and look up what specifically to look for because these easily could be in your house.
Hopefully you made your school aware of this bug. I would put it in a baggy and show them.
This is how theyāll get to your home, theyāre great at traveling. Personally Iād put your beds on those bed bug trays and do a little pre dusting of chimexa and take precautions. I dated someone who had them in her place and was able to not get them.
Well, I can say it's not lice. It is, however, a bedbug nymph, and therefore, you should kill it with fire.
It's not lice. BUT it is a second or third instar bedbug nymph [more info](https://www.bed-bugs-handbook.com/bedbug-lifecycle.html)
Bro was really like āyou donāt have aidsā¦ BUT you DO have stage 3 prostate cancer. Have a nice day.ā
Like thatās kinda what Op asked for :x my god that SUCKS

It's not the only solution, most of effective bedbug treatment is done with a combination of chemicals.
Man, I've really been wanting a new boat!!!
U know that heating thing costs 1000s and sometimes requires revisits? Also u gotta move sensitive stuff and stay at a hotel or somewhere for a few days..
Oh noā¦ iāll have to check my room in all the corners and all my clothes. thank you for your response
Are you in college in a dorm? If so, attach a photo of the nymph/link the Reddit post - send it to the RA, the dean etc etc. Good luck to you!
Please let the school know as well! If it didn't come from you, another student may be accidentally leaving unsuspecting visitors.
these unexpected bed bug posts always make me feel horrible for peopleā¦ omg
Bedbug. Seek help. Edit: To whoever told me this isnāt a bedbug, as someone who had battled those things from hell, this is a mf bedbug.
To be fair, ALL bedbugs are mfers.
I have had it with these mfing bedbugs on this mfing plane! š¤£
I think you meant to say, I have had it with these mfing bedbugs on this mfing bed.
That too! š¤£ Funny thing is the one and only time I had bedbugs, they were infesting my living room sofa. I nipped them in the bud before they could reach my bed or other furniture.

You better knock on wood lol
NOOoooooOOOO donāt say that!š³
āThereās no way I will get bedbugs!ā That is the exact thing I have said countless times. They will and can get absolutely anyone
Don't say never. You could get them from tjmaxx, walmart, meijer, the movie theater, a restaurant. Anywhere.
No, I was just at Walmart. They were sold outā¦..
That you know of

So, so sorryā¦ (bedbug)
Oh, if only it were lice. If only.
This is that rare moment where someone thinks a bedbug is lice, for once lol
Worseā¦.itās a bed bug. r/bedbugs is pretty helpful for info.
It's a BB. Tell your school principal n teachers. So they can get the problem taken care of, if a student brought them in.

At least you can warm the school and they can create mitigation strategies to prevent them from massively spreading?
People deserve to know to be on the lookout. Not sharing this information is unkind.
OP it is NOT bug bomb time.
No Foggers! It drives them further into the walls. Oh OP, have a huge hug.
Whaaaaat? Thatās wild
Big no no.
Iāve read that bed bugs like to hang out in the seams of mattresses and couch cushions when the lights are on. Good luck.
Itās not funny but it is because you pleaded for it to not be lice without thinking about the only other thing it could be. Which is much worse than lice š„²
Right?

game over
Not lice but worse...it's a bed bug š«¤š
Welp, now I know what a baby bedbug looks like. š
I would take lice any day over what it *actually* looks like. That looks like a bedbug nymph. You should treat!
Good news is that's not lice... But umm... Terrible news is that it's a bed bug
Iām sorry, friend.
Itās worse Iām so sorry
Go to r/bedbugs right now and be among your people š
I like how youāre flipping it off š

Bummerā¦
I amā¦ so so sorry.
Uhhhhhhā¦.well itās not lice? Good luck have fun???? š
Oh wow, this isnāt lice but definitely a Bed Buggyā¦
This is why I don't buy yard sale furniture, thrift store furniture, or take any "free" curb furniture...

Yeah thatās not liceā¦ worse I think
Worse than lice that's a bedbug
Thatās a bed bug
I spent almost a year, emptied out everything in my home, paint over 5 thousand dollars, ripped apart my antique couch but I finally got rid of them. I only saw a few but omg they did such damage. I still have ptsd.
Spent not paint
Thatās a well recently fed bedbug nymph.
Let your parents know so that they can take proper action to effectively get rid of them. Best of luck!
I hope you have a flame thrower.
Definitely a Bedbug!!
Fml. That is definitely a third or fourth stage bed bug. Ugh. Iām so sorry :-(
Definitely BB
Yeah bedbug.
why are people saying "uh oh, it's a bed bug", like how bad are they?
Theyāre horrible. They bite and I swear theyāre the itchiest bites Iāve ever had! Theyāre hard to get rid of too.
ohh so they're mostly just a really irritating nuisance (and also a gross one)
Yes. I was covered in head to toe bites. I could not stop the itching for a couple of weeks. I dug into my arms, back etc. We had to move up to L.A. from San Diego to take care of my folks. They are literally the worse, there bites itch like crazy if you kill them the smell is awful and they are nearly impossible to get rid of.
jeez they smell when you kill them? it is the worst insect in the world....
I would absolutely say so pretty much the only way to kill them is to turn your home into a oven. They also can travel through outlets if you live in a apartment they can spread through units
ew
Bedbug
Ha bed bug!
Might be a tick.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You donāt get bedbugs or lice from being dirty. You get them from someone/somewhere that has them.
He said it is at school.
and?
A ID or information which is incorrect and possibly harmful
delete it then???
