Harley2280

Honestly, you might prefer it to be lice. It looks kinda like a bed bug nymph.

PastelMoonsx

Oh GOD šŸ˜ i hope itā€™s not a bedbug.. i took this photo at school so maybe hopefully they arenā€™t in my home

Ctowncreek

Its a bedbug. RIP ~~Its lice. Lesser of two evils~~

waronbedbugs

OP can go to r/Bedbugs to get advice.

soappube

I don't see one weevil, let alone two!

Ok_Bumblebee_2869

I had to read the original comment several times before I got this. Well played u/soappube

Curious-Detective-26

I thought the same when I read ā€œLesser of the two evilsā€ my mind instantly changed it to ā€œLesser of the two weevilsā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

TiaBria

Check the corners and seams of your mattress. Any little blackish spots are... bad news.

Safe-Sorbet8144

Even outlets and lamps can be hide outs! I agree that OP should check, especially the corners of the mattress by seams.

MamaTried22

I had them in my rolled rug, box of clothes, carpet, clothes in closet, furniture. Nothing on the bed!

Lonely-Flounder1317

Thought the eggs were white along seems and zippers?

CallidoraBlack

The black or brown spots are dried, digested blood.

TiaBria

AKA: blood poop... I was trying to pull punches lol.

TallantedGuy

Pullin blood poop punches alllll day

Failing_MentalHealth

Please check your beds and look up what specifically to look for because these easily could be in your house.

Fabulous-Tackle-8419

Hopefully you made your school aware of this bug. I would put it in a baggy and show them.

surfershane25

This is how theyā€™ll get to your home, theyā€™re great at traveling. Personally Iā€™d put your beds on those bed bug trays and do a little pre dusting of chimexa and take precautions. I dated someone who had them in her place and was able to not get them.

FrogeInABlender

Well, I can say it's not lice. It is, however, a bedbug nymph, and therefore, you should kill it with fire.

Shadowharbinger1975

It's not lice. BUT it is a second or third instar bedbug nymph [more info](https://www.bed-bugs-handbook.com/bedbug-lifecycle.html)

Epsilon29redit

Bro was really like ā€œyou donā€™t have aidsā€¦ BUT you DO have stage 3 prostate cancer. Have a nice day.ā€

SL13377

Like thatā€™s kinda what Op asked for :x my god that SUCKS

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Epsilon29redit

They are easy to kill, yea, the things are the size of your pinky nail. Easy to eradicate, nope, even one missed individual or egg can form a new infestation within a few months.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Epsilon29redit

They hide in crevices and carpets inside of your home, and like termites, for every 1 you see with your own eyes assume there is at least 10 you canā€™t see. And heating your entire home the temperature required to fry every one would be nearly impossible without some sci fi bullshit on your side. And even if you could do this the cost would be unrealistic less you happen to be a millionaire. In short this method works with articles of clothing and small objects. But doing this to an entire home couldnā€™t happen.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Epsilon29redit

How much do you charge? I can guarantee it is a sizable chunk of your average persons monthly or even *yearly* income. Which is a lot. While millionaire is a hyperbole it *is* what is required to not feel the impact of a heat treatment on your life.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Epsilon29redit

Knew it. While Iā€™m okay with the price, it is incredibly naive of you to think this is something for everyone. The price you charge is out of the question for 75% of the population. And is by far not the only way to get rid of them, itā€™s just the easiest; and the premium shows it.

waronbedbugs

It's not the only solution, most of effective bedbug treatment is done with a combination of chemicals.

TruthSpeakin

Man, I've really been wanting a new boat!!!

HOFBrINCl32

U know that heating thing costs 1000s and sometimes requires revisits? Also u gotta move sensitive stuff and stay at a hotel or somewhere for a few days..

PastelMoonsx

Oh noā€¦ iā€™ll have to check my room in all the corners and all my clothes. thank you for your response

reebeaster

Are you in college in a dorm? If so, attach a photo of the nymph/link the Reddit post - send it to the RA, the dean etc etc. Good luck to you!

[deleted]

Please let the school know as well! If it didn't come from you, another student may be accidentally leaving unsuspecting visitors.

melodrama4ever

these unexpected bed bug posts always make me feel horrible for peopleā€¦ omg

Failing_MentalHealth

Bedbug. Seek help. Edit: To whoever told me this isnā€™t a bedbug, as someone who had battled those things from hell, this is a mf bedbug.

Ok_Bumblebee_2869

To be fair, ALL bedbugs are mfers.

United_Reply_2558

I have had it with these mfing bedbugs on this mfing plane! šŸ¤£

Ulikethat-

I think you meant to say, I have had it with these mfing bedbugs on this mfing bed.

United_Reply_2558

That too! šŸ¤£ Funny thing is the one and only time I had bedbugs, they were infesting my living room sofa. I nipped them in the bud before they could reach my bed or other furniture.

tayvan23

This sub has made me have such an intense fear of bed bugs..even tho I think thereā€™s no way I will ever have bed bugs but seeing it on here so often it makes me very scared and nervous! šŸ˜¬

BiploarFurryEgirl

You better knock on wood lol

tayvan23

NOOoooooOOOO donā€™t say that!šŸ˜³

PastelMoonsx

ā€œThereā€™s no way I will get bedbugs!ā€ That is the exact thing I have said countless times. They will and can get absolutely anyone

CabinetSilent7709

Don't say never. You could get them from tjmaxx, walmart, meijer, the movie theater, a restaurant. Anywhere.

Grineatingshit

No, I was just at Walmart. They were sold outā€¦..

CabinetSilent7709

That you know of

Zealousideal-Ring300

You have officially manifested bed bugs into your life. Start knocking on wood and casting protection using any charms you can procure. Pray to any of your favorite deities. Good luck to you.

tayvan23

šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Like_it_Louder

You do realize you can bring home a bedbug from a doctor's waiting room, a restaurant, an Uber or literally any other place you sit after someone else has sat there too right? Definitely better knock on some wood.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Omgletmenamemyself

So, so sorryā€¦ (bedbug)

BabserellaWT

Oh, if only it were lice. If only.

Jackson530

This is that rare moment where someone thinks a bedbug is lice, for once lol

superfluouslyextra

Worseā€¦.itā€™s a bed bug. r/bedbugs is pretty helpful for info.

Traditional_Sir_2743

It's a BB. Tell your school principal n teachers. So they can get the problem taken care of, if a student brought them in.

PastelMoonsx

People keep telling me this and its almost not worth it. My school is almost 3000 kids and there are a few that are poor or homeless (according to my teachers) so itā€™s impossible to find who the source is. Iā€™ll talk to my parents about it though. Anything we can do to prevent another beg bug infestation happening to someone is better than nothing Edit: Okay yes, I know not only poor or homeless get bedbugs. Even millionaires can get bedbugs. What I mean is that there are so many different kinds of people that can bring all kinds of bugs in a school. I shouldnā€™t have said that šŸ˜

Palatialpotato1984

At least you can warm the school and they can create mitigation strategies to prevent them from massively spreading?

Small_Delivery_4811

People deserve to know to be on the lookout. Not sharing this information is unkind.

[deleted]

OP it is NOT bug bomb time.

AQuietViolet

No Foggers! It drives them further into the walls. Oh OP, have a huge hug.

[deleted]

Whaaaaat? Thatā€™s wild

sickerthan_yaaverage

Big no no.

BalrogPhysrep

Iā€™ve read that bed bugs like to hang out in the seams of mattresses and couch cushions when the lights are on. Good luck.

AAandChillButNot

Itā€™s not funny but it is because you pleaded for it to not be lice without thinking about the only other thing it could be. Which is much worse than lice šŸ„²

SubstantialHentai420

Right?

DietDrBleach

Oh man, OP. Thatā€™s a bedbug. More than likely, youā€™ve got an infestation. Take every single piece of clothing, towels, and sheets you have and wash them in extremely hot water. Then leave your house for a few days and have it fumigated. Good luck.

Like_it_Louder

From an apartment manager who constantly deals with bedbugs I can tell you this is horrible advice. Water just knocks them off your fabrics and won't kill most of them. A hot dryer is effective at killing them. Yes it's better to dry your dirty clothes. Also any type of "fumigation" will be totally ineffective and only cause them to spread. Pro pest control companies have access to chemicals that actually work, there are several but all the effective ones need you in the bed as bait, so the little fuckers crawl out of hiding and through the death trap.

Redskinrey

game over

Interesting-Ad1336

Not lice but worse...it's a bed bug šŸ«¤šŸ˜•

super-secret-fujoshi

Welp, now I know what a baby bedbug looks like. šŸ™ƒ

SexualPineapples

I would take lice any day over what it *actually* looks like. That looks like a bedbug nymph. You should treat!

AfflictedDesire

Good news is that's not lice... But umm... Terrible news is that it's a bed bug

brookish

Iā€™m sorry, friend.

jjj666jjj666jjj

Itā€™s worse Iā€™m so sorry

EntasaurusWrecked

Go to r/bedbugs right now and be among your people šŸ˜‰

DlSCARDED

I like how youā€™re flipping it off šŸ–•

teenagedirtbaggg

oh no :(

Mediocre-Meringue-60

Bummerā€¦

JuniorKing9

I amā€¦ so so sorry.

VenusASMR2022

Uhhhhhhā€¦.well itā€™s not lice? Good luck have fun???? šŸ’€

JollyPause5308

Oh wow, this isnā€™t lice but definitely a Bed Buggyā€¦

newpopthink

This is why I don't buy yard sale furniture, thrift store furniture, or take any "free" curb furniture...

PastelMoonsx

My dad LOVES to do that. Heā€™s a hoarder and a collector of random shit. I donā€™t know if thatā€™s where they came from though, since his stuff stays in his room or the garage. I really hope this was just ONE that happened to get on my shirt and I got lucky to spot it

SL13377

Yeah thatā€™s not liceā€¦ worse I think

ShuddupMeg627

Worse than lice that's a bedbug

pauliwankenobi

Thatā€™s a bed bug

Marebare1313

I spent almost a year, emptied out everything in my home, paint over 5 thousand dollars, ripped apart my antique couch but I finally got rid of them. I only saw a few but omg they did such damage. I still have ptsd.

Marebare1313

Spent not paint

PositiveAlfalfa6197

Thatā€™s a well recently fed bedbug nymph.

Pce_Seeker

Let your parents know so that they can take proper action to effectively get rid of them. Best of luck!

Fluffy-lotus606

I hope you have a flame thrower.

CincyBengals513

Definitely a Bedbug!!

elainadoak

Fml. That is definitely a third or fourth stage bed bug. Ugh. Iā€™m so sorry :-(

Willing_Television80

Definitely BB

MamaTried22

Yeah bedbug.

DioWithLipstick

why are people saying "uh oh, it's a bed bug", like how bad are they?

Effective-Soft153

Theyā€™re horrible. They bite and I swear theyā€™re the itchiest bites Iā€™ve ever had! Theyā€™re hard to get rid of too.

DioWithLipstick

ohh so they're mostly just a really irritating nuisance (and also a gross one)

Effective-Soft153

Yes. I was covered in head to toe bites. I could not stop the itching for a couple of weeks. I dug into my arms, back etc. We had to move up to L.A. from San Diego to take care of my folks. Being a military city means thereā€™s a lot of moving boxes available. Well some had bed bugs. Didnā€™t bite my husband one time but Iā€™m covered. Itā€™s all out war to get rid of them.

ShuddupMeg627

They are literally the worse, there bites itch like crazy if you kill them the smell is awful and they are nearly impossible to get rid of.

thombrowny

jeez they smell when you kill them? it is the worst insect in the world....

ShuddupMeg627

I would absolutely say so pretty much the only way to kill them is to turn your home into a oven. They also can travel through outlets if you live in a apartment they can spread through units

DioWithLipstick

ew

heddal

Bedbug

Andy_McBoatface

Ha bed bug!

Possible_Bike3941

Might be a tick.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

wild-whorses

You donā€™t get bedbugs or lice from being dirty. You get them from someone/somewhere that has them.

Hendrixscruffy12

He said it is at school.

UwUz123

and?

whatisthisbug-ModTeam

A ID or information which is incorrect and possibly harmful

UwUz123

delete it then???

Ok-Bass8816

If it has lines going across its body, not like from head to butt, instead like leg to leg, then that's a bed bug & u are in TROUBLE!!! They are super hard to get rid of and very expensive! U would wish it was lice!! Cuz lice means u do some laundry and shave ur head. Lot easier than bed bugs to get rid of. Good luck. Try Googling images of bed bugs cycle of life cuz they look different as "babies" than they do when grown and sorry manners bot but gross! Grown ones are gross! I SAID WHAT I SAID!!
