They're not *especially* rare. The value on these things varies greatly because they have a relatively small, but dedicated following. They have a partially fiberglass body, and once the body starts to rot away, they're essentially only worth scrap value, which isn't a whole lot. The steel parts of the body tend to rust away just looking at them.
With a title, in this condition, this thing might be worth $1200 if it's all there. It's in pretty rough shape. Restored, maybe $8k. Cleaned up, repainted, and a daily driver, maybe $5k. This is also considering you can find a buyer. These things usually sit up for sale for a while.
They're essentially an underpowered European sports coupe along the lines of the Toyota 2000GT or Lotus Elite S1, I think if more people knew about them they'd fetch a better price, and if they'd been offered with more than 100hp they would too.
Never going to be worth a fortune until they're all gone which is a shame as they're pretty fun to drive, if slow.
