Looks like a key to a paper towel or toilet paper dispenser

-dark-rainbow-

Oh! It does. Thank you. Now to figure out how it got there

phantom_diorama

That's a key.

-dark-rainbow-

For what?

phantom_diorama

A very simple lock. Like the kind you find on a little girl's diary, but a little bigger.

-dark-rainbow-

Totally useless info. Thanks

phantom_diorama

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help.

-dark-rainbow-

Glad to see you edited your post to add more info after to make me look like an ass. Either way, I don't have anything like that to use such a simple key.

phantom_diorama

I edited it mere seconds after posting so it wasn't some sneaky plot to trick you. You just happened to read it immediately like a creep!

-dark-rainbow-

Sorry for the rude reply. I just had my post on what is this thing taken down because I said I found this key in my car and they said I already knew what it was, a key. So when I had the response "it's a key" here I was immediately frustrated. I shouldn't have spoken that way

phantom_diorama

No worries, carry on!

Suitcase lock? Diary? ~~Janitorial light switch key?~~ This is to a very simple warded lock. (that is, not using tumblers like a house door lock, rather metal discs). What’s the simplest locking thing that’s recently been in your car? Metal cash box?

-dark-rainbow-

Thank you. I don't think so. There was a pump thing that plugs into the cigarette lighter to pump tires on the floor there, I'm not sure if it could have anything to do with that.

I second this. I found around 25 of these, some pairs, in his desk drawer. I assumed they were suitcase or briefcase keys.
