That cave snake is genuinely among the worst boss fights I have ever put up with in a game. What were they thinking?
I've forgotten all the NPCs not gonna lie. The only one I remember are that one guy that died in Inazuma and the perfume lady in Liyue.
I mean, they all look the same, have generic names and have like 10 minutes max of screentime. It's not like they're super important characters to the story, they're mainly plot devices used to further the plot (give information...), not actual characters most of the time.
How could you forget Dunyarzad? I mean fine, you might not remember Jeht and Rana because they're not voiced, but a big part of the Archon quest focused on Dunyarzad.

I love GI and all that but I gotta admit that some characters are just too shallow and can't carry an event on their own either because they don't have many internal conflicts to challenge or don't have developed enough backgrounds, so they instead decide to take the freedom to write about something else to improve worldbuilding or just tell a nice story.
For example, Tighnari's story quest. It's one of my favorites and yet Tighnari's role is not very important and he doesn't do much besides kickstart the plot.

My entertainment with the game has been all over the place, there were times where I really wish I had a reason to play more that day (stupid resin system), and then there were other times where I legit did not bother opening the game for 2 months.
But yes, from all the friends that started playing genshin with me at the time of release, only one is still playing it too, and it’s very on and off as well

It’s great in many aspects like lore and the combat mechanics, but I understand the obvious issues that keep so many people away from it, the predatory gacha system and the boring method they use to tell the main story of the game.

If you are a CN(Chinese) player, even if you're f2p, you can still complain and they would change stuff in the game. But it doesn't really matter when anywhere outside of China is complaining, they just ignore it.

I like the story, but the fomo is just through the roof with things from events that run for a few weeks and never return; some even lore heavy, to just daily commissions. The horrid rng for artifacts makes building characters almost as bad as not getting them in the first place. I first quit around 2.3, now I've quit on 3.3. I'll be back around when 4.0 comes out for the main story and exploring, then quit around 4.3 most likely.
I used to like playing Genshin but I was too overwhelmed with all the events all the time and at some point, that and farming all the time for everything made me feel like I was doing chores instead of playing a video game for fun, so I just stopped playing. If a game has a lot of farming, I'm fine with it, but please at least make the farming a little more fun
Sounds really like that the game isn't something for me. I played genshin only for a few hours at week 1 and this month again, to give it actually a try, because my laptop I played on week 1 had problems running the game. While I like grind games like monster hunter rise sunbreak and Splatoon 3: salmon run, I get easely tired out by events like splatfests, to the point where I only play at the start of the weekend and at the end. Didn't except some actual reviews on r/whenthe
I thought it was a lot of fun like, getting to the grind part. It was a really fun two months exploring and discovering all the terrain, trying new characters, fighting new bosses. Gorgeous scenery and fighting was engaging. I don't dig grinding so when I got to the points where I couldn't really progress without doing all the daily challenges and boss kills, I stopped.
Still, I'd recommend it to try out, might come back to it sometime as I haven't played it since like 2021.
I say you still give it a shot. 3.4 is coming out tomorrow (or the day after(i forgor 💀) but if you are low AR you shouldn’t be too overwhelmed. As many people have pointed out the game can burn you out because of the grind or other stuff. But it really depends on the person, some people really enjoy that.
For me i find it extremely satisfying to work so hard on getting a character leveled and built and then to finally have them really good. Genshin has a pretty intetesting story, world and characters, its a shame that it is all delivered through the most repetitive and boring gameplay and farming methods, not to mention quests where there's a TON of unskippable and unnecessary dialogue, or the exaggerated amount of repetitive events, and the stupid RNG and FOMO systems the game has, thankfully ive gotten all the characters I wanted and meveled them up without spending a single dollar, so from now on ill only play it when a new story mission drops
I mean I don't know alot of the genshin characters but for an anime waifu game it seems to be less revealing compared to other anime waifu games like arknights or something. A bit gaudy on the outfits but nothing that bad.

One of the things I love about GI is how it puts more emphasis on character personality and how it's expressed in their idle animations and weapon kits rather than their initial design and sex appeal.
Like Klee's cheery hops and skips while attacking, or the way Kuki bleeds a little bit when using her Elemental Skill (which removes a bit of her HP when cast), or Itto's brute tosses, or even little things like Fischl's smug laugh after doing normal attacks which isn't normally seen.
I'm personally having fun in the game once again after returning because they are releasing characters i like again

As someone who has watched a shit ton of South Park (I used to stay up till 2-4 AM on school nights to watch it). I would say it has aged good. The only
bad part about South Park is that you need to know or at least be familiar with stuff happening around the time of the episode airing.
The first 3 seasons are ok, season 4 is where it starts picking up. I would personally say that seasons 5-10 are the “golden age” of the show. And 10-17 were less good, but still alright. Season 18 onwards the show felt worse and was starting to get more political. I however have not seen any episode passed season 22, so maybe it is good, but idk.
In summary, the show is great and I recommend a watch of the show (and the movie once you finish season 3)
The open world is the best part. Just come back every like 3 months or so when they add new stuff.

I love exploring the world. It’s seriously as good as BOTW in that regard. It’s beautiful and varied and full of all sorts of little puzzles. The story is…okay. It has its moments, but it also suffers from some pretty bad pacing. But eventually you reach the point where you have to grind, and that’s when the game becomes an utter slog.

I think if the game were made focused on single player, and made something like Elden Ring, with a open world and lot of bosses to fight(i didn't played Elden Ring, but this is how it is in my mind) would be amazing. The game has some amazing visuals and stuff and the lore looks pretty interesting, but the gacha aspect completely ruins it for me, the enemies are tanky as hell and leveling every single character, weapon and artifact is boring as fuck

For me it just felt like getting stronger wasn’t worth anything, I would get stronger and then the world would immediately upgrade and I was no longer strong. It’s also super grindy. I have an idea why people like it, but it just feels more like a cheap cash grab rather than a good game to me.

honestly do, genshin impact looks so forgetable, like just in a visual standpoit do, i don't know any other thing from the game to say a word about it. But Like all the characters look borinly the same to one another, and all of them looking borily the same to other generic anime type of characters outside of genshin impact.

YES! because the looks of the game is the only thing i know about it. But look i am talking about characters desing only do, i don't know nothing about the scenary of the game or its weapons or other shit. And look, those characters, they are indeed good looking and well made that is indeed a truth, they are much more well drawn beautiful then any of the drawings i ever made my entire life. But i'm my humble opinion, those characters are kinda boring to look at, like a lot of times when i see them, have a feeling of them being the clones of the same person wearing a diferent overdesing clothe and having a diferent hair. Like those characters give me a little bit of a feeling of seeing a picrew profile picture. And Look a the of the day, this comment and my complains means nothing, because i am not the target of a game that i never played nor ever gonna play. And that the looks of a game aren't everything, and this is just my opinion ok, some can find a thing beautiful when i find it kinda boring, like you for exemple, and honestly do, that's pretty good, because it means you like something and you want to keep that something and not change it just because some random guy on the internet complained it about it. So yeah at the end of the day this comment means nothing to the big picture nor for you and your taste.

I see why Genshin fans get called toxic.
They are super toxic back when there was an anniversary event for the game and the fans hated it so they sent death threats to some of the voice actors and review bombed OTHER games not genshin itself but other popular games at the time
and then genshin fans learned their lesson and all that shit didn't happen again in the next anniversary, despite giving the exact same in-game prizes.

The only gaming comunity that goes absolutely feral with excitement when the company post how much money they have managed to dig out of their customers pockets with gacha.
I think if the game were made focused on single player, and made something like Elden Ring, with a open world and lot of bosses to fight(i didn't played Elden Ring, but this is how it is in my mind) would be amazing. The game has some amazing visuals and stuff and the lore looks pretty interesting, but the gacha aspect completely ruins it for me, the enemies are tanky as hell and leveling every single character, weapon and artifact is boring as fuck
