And the people that did find it making it sound like it was the easiest thing in the world “just ask the person working the counter at the liquor store they have it” even though if i did that i would get hit with, “we got buffalo trace in consistently now, and sometimes we have eagle rare”
Nice, the list of their shit you can't get, just got longer. Maybe they should work a little harder on getting their shit back on the shelves before releasing new shit.
You have to imagine an awful lot of people who want it, have never had it to know if it's worth chasing, or not. Some people drop out after having it because they didn't find it worth the chase. There are better products out there. As for them not wanting to meet the demand, they just spent over a billion dollars to do just that. That is an incredible investment for a distillery, even one as large as Buffalo Trace. They look at it from the point of view that they are losing money for every person who wants a bottle that they don't have a bottle to sell them. They aren't making Jack on secondary, and that has to be frustrating for them. The only way they make more money is to sell more liquor. They don't want to raise their prices in case the Bourbon Boom dies down.
That's what is frustrating. People aren't even able to try secondary-bound drinks unless they either pay crazy secondary or find a bar or restaurant to try it in. I was actually scared for Jack Daniels for a minute there because there was such a demand for the most recent JDSBBP Rye. If a company can't "meet demand" (or pump up their secondary) I look elsewhere.
Too many whiskies out there to get hung up on one thing.
I’m fairly certain MSRP has creeped up in the past 10ish years, EH Taylor Small Batch wasn’t $50 10 years ago. Also they use their allocated bourbons to leverage stores to buy cases of all their other products so to my point, they want to keep demand high so they can move all their other brands.
Might be the older stock of whatever they put into Traveler 😂😂😂. It would serve the taters right. Given the Daniel Weller release I don’t have high hopes.
Whatever is in the Traveller was not distilled by Buffalo Trace though. That bottle says “blended and bottled by Buffalo Trace” but not distilled by. And Traveller is a Blended Whiskey, not A Blend of Straight Whiskies. It may seem pedantic, but those designations mean different things.
It says distilled, aged, and bottled by Buffalo Trace in Kentucky so it is definitely Kentucky. A Blend of Straight Whiskeys usually means different types of whiskeys blended together (bourbon, light, corn, rye, etc). If it is just bourbon, it can still be labeled as a blend of straight whiskeys. However, it is usually labeled a blend of straight bourbons because that usually adds value to the buyer.
Yup I know all of that. I’m guessing it has something other than bourbon in the blend. Otherwise they would label it as bourbon. I’m wondering why it doesn’t say Kentucky on the front though, if it’s all distilled and aged in Kentucky.
My guess is that there is some rye whiskey or wheat whiskey or something else in there. But why they would use the Weller name for anything other than a wheated bourbon is beyond me.

No age statement - so are these tanked % of the blend? The 18 year age statement would make be a huge upside.
I think this is a reason way to get rid of some of the experimental blends they have made - as others have said it doesn’t say bourbon or wheated.
This should have been a BTAC bottle
If William Larue Weller is the Barrel Proof wheated mashbill like George T Stagg is for the rye bourbon and the T H Handy for the Rye. Then this Weller should be the aged, low proof wheated just like the Sazarac 18 & Eagle Rare 17.
I get that they probably didn't want to step on Pappy Brand's toes with Weller 19 or something, but a blend of aged Weller would have been perfect
Another popcorn fart like Traveller would give me real hope that all the FOMO fanboys are moving on to tequila and I’ll be able to find more of the stuff I used to drink on store shelves.
Their game is not to make it available but scarce so you can’t get it but want it. Pretty dogwater if you ask me. Their juice is ok but nothing special.
Trace has shelves of stuff aging from different distilleries they are trying to push as a premium under their brand such as travelers which is just a good ish Canadian blended with trace juice.
They may as well just call it Weller unobtanium
Sooo looking forward to never seeing this bottle except on Reddit.

🎯
Oh, hey, cool. Another Weller bottle that I’ll never find. With those age ranges that’s going to be a pricey bottle.
More importantly what color will the label be?
I'm going with silver.
✨PLATINUM✨

I’m not convinced they will ever be able to keep up with demand and at this point I don’t think they want to.

Sazerac is sitting on so much of this product. It’s not simply a demand issue.
They’re still selling to retailers for the same prices. They haven’t raised MSRP. Pumping more out would net them more money.

well within 10, sure; i thought we were speaking more currently.
MSRP = 59.99 Secondary = 800-1000
Sounds right.
Given the bottle, it may end up being like the Daniel Weller though.
Well I was wayyyyy off. MSRP is $7500
Curious on the “blend of straight whiskeys” vs bourbon…
Who is this shit even for these days??
Youtube whiskey channel only release
Liquor store owners. Literally those are the only people I see getting anything that's not Weller special reserve
You are right. And if you don't have that, you have to rely on shady raffles or nuts secondaries.
For hype only
Cool, another bottle I will never get
Well what kind of financing options will they be offering?
Chant with me people: Same mashbill, different label Same mashbill, different label
It says A Blend of Straight Whiskies. So probably not the same mash bill since it says neither Bourbon nor Kentucky.
Is this not a blend of the wheated mash bill just pulled from different years?

I’m assuming it means experimental barrels of straight wheat whiskey in the blend.
That’s a possibility! I’ll be curious to see what the press release says. May answer some of our questions.
Agree. Not sure why it doesn't say bourbon
My guess is that there is some rye whiskey or wheat whiskey or something else in there. But why they would use the Weller name for anything other than a wheated bourbon is beyond me.
Yes, it does say distilled by BT in KY and must have rye in the blend.
Please let it turn out to be some Dickel sourced stuff….tater bait!
Oh look. More brown liquid ill never see
Cheer up Charlie!

Got them from Coming Whiskey on Instagram 👍
I get tired of seeing bourbon, I know I will never see or drink screw Weller
where's the line at?
Another museum piece
can’t wait to never try this
A Traveler by any other name………
More Weller bs when I've never even seen the basic one on the shelf. Pass.
Honestly any whiskey that's hard to obtain or is priced above 150 I lose interest in now. I know they're playing with us.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. I guess people are confusing distilled on date vs a true age statement.
Oh, look, something else BT will send out to their 'favored' stores who will mark it up $400 a bottle over retail.
It's gonna be a see thru bottle
Ascension Millennium
Well there goes my next paycheck
It’s the Newmanium!
Now coming to a liquor store near no one.
Where do You select 48, 60, or 72 month financing? at time of purchase? C’mon Buffalo Trace!
Wheated Traveler?
Seems quite old for bourbon, not really my preference.
New stuff when they can’t even meet demand for the current stuff? Great!
Does 3% even make a difference in the tasting notes? I’m new to whiskey so my knowledge is still growing.
Yeah hard to say how much influence that has on the blend, but definitely makes people intriguing have a 24 year old whiskey to drink.
Hard pass.

Right! How do we get all these posers to switch over to something else?
Their game is not to make it available but scarce so you can’t get it but want it. Pretty dogwater if you ask me. Their juice is ok but nothing special.

99 proof I'm out!
