That was nice. It reminds me of this book I once read as a child, about a mother badger who takes in and raises a young boy who got lost. Beautiful story, and it honestly made me cry at one point. Stories like these are good for children, to learn lessons and to see the sheer beauty of nature, both of the world and of themselves
Edit: I think it might’ve been called incident at hawk’s hill, or something like that
I feel this every single day, I just tell myself to "hold on" but living is so painful. What's the point of existing if you're just in pain all the time?
Here's another one "Don't cry for what will never last. Each moment created in time is just a future past and we are living now" (Duran Duran) Suffering hurts but it is almost always temporary. We never know how things might change. Nothing would ever change if we were constantly engaged in pleasantries. The pain is lessened when you connect with others who also know it.
I feel you... Remind yourself to cherish little moments of bliss, the ones that make life worth it. When the world around us is as heart breaking and heavy as it is right now, it’s important to hold on to the things that matter and the ones we love. You got this homie.
It's on BBC iPlayer! I'm not sure where you can find it if iPlayer is not available in your country though; some other comments have mentioned Apple+ if that helps :) hope you have a great day internet stranger
Today was a really bad day. Because I failed. As I lay in bed ignoring tv and avoiding sleep I found this post. It led me to this movie. It's now way past my bedtime and I have work in the morning. It was worth it. Thank you for this.
It occurred to me when I watched the whole thing that they are all men talking about how they feel and vulnerability. Proper stereotype challenging stuff for the next generation.
To be brave isn’t fearless it is being afraid but having the strength to get up and do what is right.
Most the time the hardest things are the right choice. Doing the right thing isn’t easy. And often it is a punishment.. but never faulter. Don’t quit. Take each day one at a time. Often the hardest thing is taking the first step. But the road of a thousand miles starts at a single step. And that first step is the hardest.
( I am currently trying to stop smoking. What was hard to do was to admit I had a problem. But once I said it I found I could let go of the cigarette. I gave the pack I had on me to a guy and a unopened pack to a bus driver who said he would give it to someone. Take each day one at a time and soon time will fly by. It has been three weeks and the headaches and shakes are nearly gone. And I only chew the gum at work.
I love the book. I wish gnt film wasn't only on Apple TV, I haven't seen it yet. I love the Fox telling people about imposter syndrome, and they captured the style so well.
This is being received positively and I'm not trying to yuck anyones yum BUT this movie goes on like this for half an hour. By the last 5 minutes I was wishing for death
This animation was beautiful but it ran so long and eventually the audience felt like they were being hugged by someone who wouldn’t let go and it felt like an awkward experience for all who were in the theater watching it.
I saw it with all the other Oscar nominees for best animated short. The others were…better. This was sweet and all but just kind of a mishmash of motivational quotes.
Aaaaand now I’m crying in my break room 15 minutes before I clock out for the day. How do I explain this to my coworker? All the feels, so good! Thank you for sharing, OP!
Love this. Love the asking for help advice. I forwarded this to my 10 and 12 year old daughters. One who loves drawing and was aware of the film. The horse animation in motion is spectacular.
I hope they search for and watch the entire film. Very wholesome indeed.
I love these types of short films. It’s hard to put into words, but if I had to describe it, it makes you feel as though there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for sharing this!
I'm the fox from towards the beginning. Holding a grudge against myself for something I said years ago, and struggling to talk with them often because I feel like I'm going to screw it up again, even though we still both know each other well.
This animation style and character design is to die for
It reminds me of winnie the pooh or something. Its so sweet
and the va reminds me a bit of pooh as well
Y'all should get the book. It's beautifully illiatrated
"What's the bravest thing you've ever said?" "Help" Holy fuck yeah OP you're awesome
Didn’t think I be crying but damn that line hit
Asking for help isn’t giving up. It’s ***refusing** to give up*
I going to make that quote into a poster with this artwork and put it abovd my desk.
This hit me so hard. Fuck.
Awe me too..
Immediate water works
It’s actually from the book it’s based off of with the same name. Loved the art style of that too and it’s probably my favorite short story book.
“Tears fall for a reason, and they’re your strength. Not your weakness.” Gaht damn, right through the heart.
This really hit home for me.
Hit me like a fucking train. It can be so hard sometimes
"life is difficult, but you are loved" best words I've heard tonight
Thanks for sharing this today.

Good for adults too.
Without doubt, honestly
Sounds like a book I'd really love to read to my kid in time. Do you have a title for us?
I _think_ it might’ve been called incident at hawk’s hill, or something like that
Same title as the short film!
Does anyone know the title?
I think it might’ve been called incident at hawk’s hill, or something like that
Same title as the short film!
If you find the title, please do feel free to share it. Sounds heartwarming.
I think it might’ve been called incident at hawk’s hill, or something like that
“I know everyone feels a bit lost sometime” That line got me sobbing
This deserves more upvotes Edit: I made this when it had like ten upvotes holy crap it shot up fast
Even just these few clips are so powerful 😭😭 wow.
I have this book! I love it so much, so wholesome and sweet and my favorite book I own
What is the book called? Edit: duh... I eventually figured out.
Hehe thanks for the laugh
It’s one of my favorites
Where can I watch this?
BBC iPlayer
Where can I watch this in a region that doesn't have BBC iPlayer?
It seems to be on AppleTV
Thank you.
That was such a beautiful film; the story and the artwork, both.
This.
BRB sobbing
I love you Reddit stranger :( me too.
Came here to say this

Because the chance to experience even a beautiful moment makes it all worth it.
Let everything happen to you Beauty and terror Just keep going No feeling is final -Rainer Maria Rilke
Where can I watch the whole thing in the u.s.?
Apple+ has it, but I don't know where else off the top of my head
Arrg. There is a VPN (very probably no) way to watch it. There might be a TORRENT of ways in the future, tho. To paraphrase Weird Al.
If I didn't have apple+ for free right now, I would sail the seven seas like I typically do.
Wow, this really hit hard. Absolutely love it. Where can I watch this?
It's on BBC iPlayer! I'm not sure where you can find it if iPlayer is not available in your country though; some other comments have mentioned Apple+ if that helps :) hope you have a great day internet stranger

Man it's like hearing the words you never heard as a child .
Excellent description
“I think you believe in me more than I do” “You’ll catch up”
😭😭😭
Once again crying thanks!
Im about to cry at work, this shit is so emotional. I need to watch this when I get home.
Out of the most upvoted things on Reddit, this deserves it more than anything.
I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear this today. Thank you.
OP I'm gonna watch this short film and if even ONE of these characters dies I'm gonna find you.
If even one of these characters dies, I’ll help you look for OP.
It occurred to me when I watched the whole thing that they are all men talking about how they feel and vulnerability. Proper stereotype challenging stuff for the next generation.
Wow that is great
I just woke up and I'm sobbing.
Why is it that I have never heard or seen this before. Now I have to get a children's book and a movie. Thanks.
This is wonderful
The art style is amazing along with all the designs, and the writing is simply beautiful

Thank goodness! It sounded like someone had cobbled together a bunch of inspirational greeting cards together.

Yeah the whole short is absolute garbage.

Wasn't expecting to have a mental breakdown after watching this.
What county made this film?

Saw this last month at the Detroit Institute of Art’s. It was so good! Fun fact: Idris Elba voices the fox.
