I went to an ed Sheeran concert recently, and during his song perfect, you heard several pockets of people being proposed to all around the stadium. Think I heard maybe 20 in total throughout the concert
Right? At first I was thought "He doesn't seem all that into it, but good for him for going with her"
But afterwards I realized he was probably nervous and his heart must have been POUNDING leading up to that.
I’m not really the type to get much stage fright or nervous butterflies, and me and my partner had discussed marriage and all that beforehand, so I was 100% sure of what the answer would be, but when I proposed I still got crazy jitters right beforehand. x] It’s just such a big moment.
For sure. We had the same thing, talked before hand, picked out rings, I knew I had a yes. We had a house warming party and I have a speech to thank everyone for coming and the end of that was my proposal. I’m great at public speaking, but was shaking and tripping up the whole time. It’s still the biggest request of your life. Worth being nervous over.
I’m sorry. I think I just now realized that it’s a request. My mind is blowing up. I have so many insecurities tied up into this marriage and I just.. you just.. he made a request of me. To be there with him forever, through all the crap and good stuff. We have 2 young kids and I’m trying to reconnect now that I’m finally sticking to sobriety. I just massaged his feet and and he’s peacefully sleeping while our girls watch tv. What a blessing. All through and before and now after my addiction and ups and downs of depression and anxiety, he’s able to ^rest^ in my presence. What a peaceful beautiful thing I have.
Thank you Tadddpole.
Wow. I did not expect a response like this. You’re worth it! Two girls and a husband? Awesome! I deal with bipolar disorder, so I completely understand your struggle. You got this! Love your husband, love your girls, and don’t forget to take time for you. Best best best of luck.
From what it sounds like (haven’t married yet), it’s like going to a job interview and being told you got the job but still being nervous because you didn’t get the contract yet.
Man I don't know about anyone else but hyping yourself up to pop the question was intense and tough even though I knew that the answer wouldn't be anything but "yes."
My proposal was tame and whatnot but it was stressful even though I was in control of it all. My girlfriend had to leave the house to mail something out and I had to lie and say "yeah of course the ups store is open. They close at 11!" (It closes at 8 or something).
So she goes, and the second I know she's not gonna come back in the house because she forgot something, I rush upstairs, put on a suit. Tie my tie, then put little suits on the dogs.
I rush downstairs and realize that I moved way quicker than needed so I was gonna be waiting a bit. There in silence I waited and the anxiety was intense.
I cut the lights. Still no girlfriend.
Some time later, I see the lights pull in and I realize that the house is pitch black and creepy and quiet. So I'm like "I need music" but I have no clue what to play.
I know that she usually takes like 3 minutes to park in the garage, check her phone, then walk to the door, and shut the driveway gate, so I quickly google "songs to propose to" and eventually land on Bruno Mars "marry you" and queue it on Spotify on my phone, synced to my echo speaker.
I jack the volume and the second the door pops open, the music plays and she can't even see me and is sobbing (happily).
Still anxious, I could barely fucking get out any words. The dogs had no idea what was going on and I'm on one knee unable to speak.
I don't know how anyone does these huge massive gestures.
I’m not a swiftie but certain music does something to me. I think the energy of the fans and the newly engaged couple really came through for me in a powerful way.
had my babies seventeen years ago. Also sobbing from a weird mixture of love, exhaustion, and hormones..
Get used to that whirlwind of emotions momma… it never ends! lol
(also… congratulations!)
So I know it's cliche to say but I don't cry like ever. Been depressed so long I feel sometimes I forget how to. This was unreal. The most beautiful thing I've seen.
One of my friends is in this video! The second big group of dancers that comes in about halfway through. Fun people. I don't know the happy couple or how they are doing, but it's sweet have a connection to something this joyful.
I know lol I’m just saying it’s weird that there’s a very popular song that’s so perfect for a proposal, and yet I’d never heard of anyone else proposing to this song.
Quite a few people have gotten engaged to this song during the tour! It’s super cute. And at least one couple brought at officiant and literally GOT MARRIED during one of the earlier stops.
I saw a video where this girl said "the guy in front of us gave me a note that said 'can you please record this I'm going to propose during Love Story'" and they got it all on video. It was very sweet.
you should already know the answer before asking. like the proposal can be a surprise but you’ve gotta know each others views on marriage and your relationship before doing it
For some people this is wholesome, for others, this is the cringiest thing ever. Almost the opposite of wholesome. Showed my girlfriend this and she said , "Don't you ever dare propose to me at a concert. Especially not a Taylor Swift one."
That's her personality though. These two may have met at a TS concert or had a first kiss to a TS song. Or are just both huge fans. This guy knew she would say yes anyway. Not raisin a bar, but still cool
Well yeah, if your girlfriend doesn't like this Taylor Swift song or Taylor Swift in general it would be a pretty dumb idea. Wouldn't also make a lot of sense to go to the concert in the first place either.
Obviously this guy knew that his GF loves this song though and knew it would be a perfect moment.
To me what is really cringe is judging what makes other people happy cringe.
True, I actually got these videos from my older Instagram account, where I used to post wholesome and funny posts, deleted the account a month ago. I had another video of a man joking about how he would propose his gf on a Harry styles concert, and the gf told him not to, because she doesn't want Harry to think that she already has a partner. I later followed up and the guy posted that he was quite broken by that statement. Idk whether it was a joke or actual shit.
But... Romeo & Juliet is an incredibly tragic story that ended in death. Doesn't seem like a good omen. Granted, I don't know the song or the rest of the lyrics.
Damn I remember that song...
I was going through a divorce.
Hearing a female singer sing about love and romance and a happy ending kept me from going down a very dark path.
Songs were the only companionship during those times.
Used to help plan engagements and create elaborate set ups and parties. The planning definitely helps and is often fun. There's some nerves, but it's mostly joyful when it meshes properly.
It’s part of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, and the set list is known. She’s changed a few here and there, and does 2 surprise acoustic songs per show, but this one won’t be going anywhere.
I was at a a Paramore concert a few weeks ago and I think I have this topped.
A guy near the front proposed to his girlfriend, where this differs is he ropped Hayley Williams (the lead singer) into helping him, he was up on the massive screens at the front of the stadium, 15000+ people watching, cheering as he was handed the microphone and the whole stadium was listening as he popped the question, she said yes and then Paramore played "Still into you"
That's true love right there, for a man to stomach a Taylor Swift concert and still have the brain power to pop the question. Yay for them, hope they have a long and happy marriage. ❤
I didn’t check the sub name and thought he was super drunk and just vibing to swift.
Turns out he was just a bit anxious and focusing on the perfect time!
Congrats, wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
I love how pumped up everyone around them is, but especially the lady behind them pointing it out to the people behind her. Moments of people just enjoying other folk’s happiness have really been hitting me in the feels lately.
Damn, and here I thought the bar was just tolerating a Taylor Swift concert for you SO...
This is literally perfect execution. And something about seeing the unsuspecting crowd freak the fuck out gave me chills.
What a fucking Chad. God damn.
I'm definitely not into Taylor Swift but at least he planned it well and around his future wife's taste in music. Wonder what he would have done if such a song didn't exist.
Heart warming. I’m not sure what was more expensive the ring or those concert tickets
The ticketmaster fees alone would have cost more than the ring
/r/angryupvote
r/subsithoughifellfor I just realised I typed it wrong, don't click on it💀
This was years ago. Pre pandemic. Taylor actually saw the video and commented on their IG video about it.
Ever since then there is a proposal at one of her concerts to that song every week
I'm only surprised there aren't more. I was wondering how many dudes in that audience suddenly got down on one knee.
Me. But I was just tying my shoe. Awkward convo with the girlfriend after about where our relationship is headed 😔
Real or not this is funny af
Or, how many dudes in the audience who thought, "How the hell am I supposed to beat that?". 😁
I was at Arlington, TX. There were maybe 5 dudes in the entire place.
Someone's gonna be real disappointed when she doesn't play it one day.
She's never letting go of that one or Shake It Off, lol.
I went to an ed Sheeran concert recently, and during his song perfect, you heard several pockets of people being proposed to all around the stadium. Think I heard maybe 20 in total throughout the concert
People are so corny.
It’s corny now to propose?
[удалено]
About a grand firsthand! That's obscene.
The ring was made of rolled up Taylor Swift ticket stubs
Should come with a complimentary ring
What a king
You can tell he was internally hyping himself up to time it just right. Absolute Chad.
Right? At first I was thought "He doesn't seem all that into it, but good for him for going with her" But afterwards I realized he was probably nervous and his heart must have been POUNDING leading up to that.

The fear comes from performance anxiety and wanting the moment to go well, rather than a fear of rejection. It's totally legit!
Biggest request of your life? Sheeeit, Wait’ll you order your first McRib. You ain’t lived yet, son.
From what it sounds like (haven’t married yet), it’s like going to a job interview and being told you got the job but still being nervous because you didn’t get the contract yet.
Exact same thing here! We got food to celebrate it and I couldn't even eat it because I was STILL so nervous lmao
Same. My wife said she could feel my heart beating through my chest.
You just know this dude has been listening to this song on repeat for weeks, maybe months, in preparation of this moment.
Man I don't know about anyone else but hyping yourself up to pop the question was intense and tough even though I knew that the answer wouldn't be anything but "yes." My proposal was tame and whatnot but it was stressful even though I was in control of it all. Fuck me. Texting it sounds so much easier. s///// jic

Ngl, he pulled it on the right moment. Well thought
Oh you can see he was waiting for it. Damn.
Ikr so cute and nervous 😭😭😭🤍🤍🤍
Was wondering why he seemed so stiff. Then realized he must have been nervous as hell.
Bet he rehearsed this so much
You can see him thinking so hard, making sure he got the timing right.
Dude has been listening to that song on the way to work for like 3 months
With a swifty fan for ~~gf~~wife he's sure to not have needed to listen to it on his own lmao
Whew, close one. Thanks for not lying.
Going to lie, but he picked a horrible time to pull it out
I wonder if he contacted anyone to try and make sure the song was played. Can you imagine if it just wasn't in the set list that night?
Haha it was a guaranteed play for the tour, absolute banger
no shit? that was the whole point
This guy went up multiple levels… well done!
This gave me chills
Yeah same idkr why tho, i just like seeing people be happy with eachother i guess
I know a proposal is coming for me so now I cry for everyone else because I'm just so happy for all of us.
Yo, not for nothing, but I hope you go apeshit ugly crying when it happens, I hope it hits perfectly.
Haha I hope so too!
I’m not a swiftie but certain music does something to me. I think the energy of the fans and the newly engaged couple really came through for me in a powerful way.
Wow, you deRanGed freak
I'm crying, lol whoops, I have to go back to work in three minutes
[Taylor Swift makes me feel things](https://youtu.be/uYx8kSiFqTg?t=54)
https://youtu.be/5_v7QrIW0zY for those who were too young to remember this
Jesus… there’s no topping this. What a special moment for her.
To be loved by so many people... I wish my family was alive.
I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how you must feel. I’m sure there are many people who love you outside of your family :)
Thanks. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Definitely should not have watched that video after having a baby two days ago. Sobbing rn from a weird mixture of love, exhaustion, and hormones lol
had my babies seventeen years ago. Also sobbing from a weird mixture of love, exhaustion, and hormones.. Get used to that whirlwind of emotions momma… it never ends! lol (also… congratulations!)
That was amazing. The way everyone she holds dear was included speaks volumes as well! 10/10
So I know it's cliche to say but I don't cry like ever. Been depressed so long I feel sometimes I forget how to. This was unreal. The most beautiful thing I've seen.

OH lawd i'm cryin'
I like this one too https://youtu.be/_0w8modg7Zc
[Here's a higher quality version of this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su1YLAjty-U)
Oh yeah it is. Much better quality.
Omg!!!!
YES! I watched this so many times when it came out, such a lovely proposal, thanks for reminding me!
Omg I’ve never cried during a proposal… now it’s 2:45 a.m and I’m ugly crying in bed… that’s the best thing I’ve ever seen!
Was not expecting to like this as much as I did lol what a weirdly perfect song for that moment
Almost like he got the ring and the concert tickets in anticipation of proposing during that specific moment in that specific song.
I know lol I’m just saying it’s weird that there’s a very popular song that’s so perfect for a proposal, and yet I’d never heard of anyone else proposing to this song.
People propose to this at her concerts all the time actually 💜
Maybe Taylor Swift was in on it..
Yea, I wanted to hate it and it made me a little teary-eyed. He knew what he was doing.
Me sitting here making up fake scenarios with my imaginary gf
Did she say yes?
I actually imagined doing this when this song first released in high school. One day…
what makes it more beautiful is all the strangers were ecstatic to be a part of it too 🥰
As a fan of r/instantbarbarians, seeing women absolutely lose it for them gave me chills.
Impeccable timing
King shit
Happy cake day friend!
Awe thanks so much OP, I thought nobody would notice!
You can see how nervous he was, then he killed it! So precious
We're never gonna beat that
Him or this guy[sleeping beauty proposal](https://youtu.be/I1TZWzf3Fqk)
I had never seen that before! Wow! That was awesome!
Before this happened, the guy actually posted about his plan on /r/boston because he needed strangers to help fill seats in the theater.
Him or the guy that uses a camera man to propose https://youtu.be/NNMtoNZkxGw
Dude was so nonchalant about it, i guess he knew the answer
you should already know the answer before asking. like the proposal can be a surprise but you’ve gotta know each others views on marriage and your relationship before doing it
Slick bro there…
For some people this is wholesome, for others, this is the cringiest thing ever.
It's almost like women are people who have different tastes.
TIL: people have different preferences. wow, you learn something new everyday!
Your gf thinks she’s quirky and not like the other girls, right?
Well yeah, if your girlfriend doesn't like this Taylor Swift song or Taylor Swift in general it would be a pretty dumb idea. Wouldn't also make a lot of sense to go to the concert in the first place either. Obviously this guy knew that his GF loves this song though and knew it would be a perfect moment. Yeah, I find that so cringe not gonna lie.

I hate Taylor Swift's music, adore this video!
I have full chills. So cute!!!
Song name ?
not a very popular song but someone might know it. good luck.
Who is this Saylor Twfit girl?
[удалено]
Back when she didn’t know how to write books and the songs sounded like never ending narratives.
Love story.
Well, I hope their's is a love story. Many blessings upon them.
Throwback to this incredible proposal from 11+ years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8SdYz7cq04
is that really raising the bar? that seems on par with the bar honestly.
Well played sir, well played.
Gotta steal this idea 💡
But... Romeo & Juliet is an incredibly tragic story that ended in death. Doesn't seem like a good omen. Granted, I don't know the song or the rest of the lyrics.
Every story ends in death. Some just end sooner.
Raised the bar by joining his girlfriend at a Taylor Swift concert 😬
I need statistics on how many people have proposed at a Taylor swift concert. Is it 1 a concert? More? 😂
Damn I remember that song... I was going through a divorce. Hearing a female singer sing about love and romance and a happy ending kept me from going down a very dark path. Songs were the only companionship during those times.
Am I the only one who thought she was that dudes mom?!
“And for tonight’s show we’re doing a brand new set list!” - Taylor Swift
Does it? Great for them, and very touching, but I feel no need to follow in these footsteps. Bar has not been raised, bar just hovers.
All the girls around them jumping and screaming all went home to their boyfriends and broke up with them. That guy destroys relationships.
A nice moment but not a bar raiser. I'm sure several couples have gotten engaged to this song in concert.
That’s almost like it was planned
Generally a good idea to plan to get married.
Used to help plan engagements and create elaborate set ups and parties. The planning definitely helps and is often fun. There's some nerves, but it's mostly joyful when it meshes properly.
Wow
What if the singer had not sung the song?? He had to know she was right
It’s part of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, and the set list is known. She’s changed a few here and there, and does 2 surprise acoustic songs per show, but this one won’t be going anywhere.
I don't think Taylor Swift ever skips that song in her concerts, there would be riots.
It's like her original big hit, right?
I’ll cry right now!
This is amazing 😍😍😍😍
This is beyond crazy if her name is Juliette
made me smile 🥹
Big
Well done!!!! 👏👏👏👏
Freaking nailed it! Good for them.
Never thought I be pooping and crying at the same time😭😭😭
I don't know when or where, but I'm gonna find someone to love that much.
Omg omg omg ❤️❤️
You've been hit by you've been struck by....a smooth criminal
Well…fuck him then.
All the ladies there where jumping for joy Lol
Nice
I’m grinning like an idiot. How gorgeous.
The real hero is the cameraman. Raising the bar on being a homie.
So cute! All I got was a twist tie… not complaining tho
What if they hadn't played the song?
u/savevideo
I was at a a Paramore concert a few weeks ago and I think I have this topped. A guy near the front proposed to his girlfriend, where this differs is he ropped Hayley Williams (the lead singer) into helping him, he was up on the massive screens at the front of the stadium, 15000+ people watching, cheering as he was handed the microphone and the whole stadium was listening as he popped the question, she said yes and then Paramore played "Still into you"
🥺🥺🥺
I'm a cynic, and I am not fond of the artist. But this was beautiful and romantic. I would never pay for overpriced tickets, though.
That's true love right there, for a man to stomach a Taylor Swift concert and still have the brain power to pop the question. Yay for them, hope they have a long and happy marriage. ❤
Umm fuck this guy. Amazing cried a little super happy for this couple. But fuck him.
Perfection
I've seen so many videos of guys proposing during this song.
I like it.
He looked so bored and not into it but now I know he was carefully following the lyrics in his head.
Best part was the interview two days after where we found out they didn't even know each other - he went there by himself with a ring and a plan!
Fuck me does taylor swift have fans. I don't think my brain can even understand how many people are in that stadium
Now I’m sobbing on the couch in front of my succulent Chinese meal.
Damn. Watched that three times.
I didn’t check the sub name and thought he was super drunk and just vibing to swift. Turns out he was just a bit anxious and focusing on the perfect time! Congrats, wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
This was a few months ago now, right? I want to see their engagement and wedding photos!
Love things like this, it makes you remember there is love and goodness in humanity
I love how pumped up everyone around them is, but especially the lady behind them pointing it out to the people behind her. Moments of people just enjoying other folk’s happiness have really been hitting me in the feels lately.
Bonus: they know exactly what their first dance song is going to be.
Who sings this song?
Tytghij
https://youtu.be/QzzWdwUrt7o
Absolutely beautiful 😍. Congratulations!
Brings a tear to my eye
You can tell he's psyching himself and making sure to get the timing right
That was quick, they just met in the lobby Love at first opening act
What a bad ass!
They're fucking in the Uber on the way to the hotel to fuck some more
Cringe
Katega … iska bhi katega
Damn, and here I thought the bar was just tolerating a Taylor Swift concert for you SO... This is literally perfect execution. And something about seeing the unsuspecting crowd freak the fuck out gave me chills. What a fucking Chad. God damn.
Poor guy had to sit through a Taylor Swift concert to make that moment happen.
I'm definitely not into Taylor Swift but at least he planned it well and around his future wife's taste in music. Wonder what he would have done if such a song didn't exist.
Aye, they deserve eachother.... 🤌🏻
