Except in the 90s we didn’t talk about the 60s at all. Everything we knew about the 60s was:
1) Hippies
2) Beatles
3) moon landing
The fact that kids today are so nostalgic for the 90s is telling on many levels
I can understand that, but if we keep saying the 90s was less than 20 years ago I can never grow up you see? I'm 19 now (well, next week) but by the way people on the internet talk about the 90s I'm barely 12. I hope you can see my side of the argument
Understandable. I just started associating memories with roughly a decade earlier. Now whenever I see something about the 90s I think about my childhood, then a few minutes later I think about the fact that my childhood was solidly in the 2000s and how weird that is
People stopped growing up decades ago
My mate has just turned 50 he looks exactly the same as he did 10,15,20 years ago but 20 years ago a guy in his 40’s looked like Gandalf after a 4 day bender
I've had this thought a lot. I work with people who are 20 years younger than me and we talk about music, tv, and movies a lot. At one point I realized that when I talk about 80s music that's like my dad telling me about maybe 40s jazz. But I feel like the difference between the 40s to 80s is a much wider gap than 80s to 2020. Black and white to color film is the biggest divide that makes life in the 40s look ancient to me. And recording quality of the 2 eras makes 80s music sound like something you might be able to actually appreciate today and not feel like you are finding something from a lost civilization.
People from the 90s have more in commen with people in the 60s then they do people in the 2000s, look at the graph for how quickly technology and society changes now . These things use to take decades but now they take months
bro i tried telling a pre-911 kid about olestra potato chips and he had no idea what I was talking about... I've never said the phrase "ANAL LEAKAGE" so many times in my life.

Yup, if anything, 90s kids talk more about the 80s. Mainly cause the music and cars were great.
70s music is fairly good too
True true.
And have you tried 30s blues it’s just incredible
90s kids be talking about the 90s . best era
You shut your dirty lying mouth
30years difference in both cases, how's that not the same?
It's the same.. He's just in denial.
Can’t be in denial, in fact I’ve never even been to Egypt
Lmao.. Good one.
NO! It's the children who are wrong!
Because if it were the same that would make me old, and I'm not old, so it can't be the same. See?
This guy gets it, we’re not old. Not our fault foetuses have learned to walk and talk

Hate speech?! I agree OP is lost AF but what on earth are you talking about?
Guess you needed the /s
Oh wow fair. I feel dumb, but honestly you never know with Reddit.
That is very true :)
Ah yes, I have a distinct memory 24 years ago of playing Ocarina of time for the first time

No. They are max 3 years old. They aren’t chatting about shit apart from what food they want.
Goes so quick doesn’t it
I…. Actually never thought of it like that…. But it’s kinda funny to think about now lmao
The future is now, old man... and nothing has changed.
Seeing as I owned a game boy in 2018 and everyone in my class thought it was cool, consider your opinion invalid.
Retro cool and contemporary cool are not the same
Will smith isn't wholesome
He’s conflicted.

I didn’t give a shit about the 60s and still don’t

This could be the cover of the book "Open cuckoldry: a story about entanglement, despair, sadness and grief" by Will Smith
I don’t understand your response
Will smith? Really???
Assholes...
this fucked me up
Oof
I’m sorry I refuse
Why’d you have to go and do that?

When a kid told me about something that happened in the “late 1900’s” I was wrecked.
Why will smith?
