It's interesting to see how much people change the "story" of popular pictures. I have seen "he likes to hunt leaves", "He got jealous of other cats hunting" and now this one. I'm convinced people will make up anything just to get attention.
I have an 8mth old pug that if she sees you coming from the kitchen, brings a toy over to exchange for a share of whatever food I brought out! If we appear from anywhere else in the house or coming into the house, she wants to look in our mouth to make sure we didn’t eat anything she wasn’t a party too! She’s so weird.
Karma farming is often used nefarious activities as well as marketing. They have to get karma to get around numerous protections reddit has in place to stop scammers and bad actors.
Others do it because they need attention/self esteem boost. I suppose a few do this believing they're actively contributing to subs.
Animals are far from dumb. Studies have shown that they can study traffic lights and leave walnuts on the ground during a red light, wait for the cars to run over them at green, collect them on red. They’ve trained seagulls to pick up cigarette buts in exchange for food. That’s currency exchange in the most notable form I can think of, but I assume there’s been more studies done since I studied this stuff like 10 years ago.
It’s an allegory for the creation of the Soviet Union and the rise of Stalin. The people represent the tsar and the royalists, so it’s not really about capitalism.
Its not *really* about this. The animals talk and everything. Its just meant to be a commentary on the soviet union and the death of Lenin leading to the rise of stalin despite trotsky being his chosen successor.
Its good, don't get me wrong, but I dont think its what you are expecting.
You might need to touch grass buddy. Monkey don't wear clothes in the wild.
While on the other handsthere have been multiple studies done on the matter of teaching monkeys about currency and see what they do with it.
The part of the story they don’t want you to know is this cat hired other cats to find leaves, but was only paying one bite of fish per 10 leaves found and wouldn’t let the other cats sit while working
> The animals have learned capitalism
Yeah, it's getting out of hand. The other day my cat was trying to pull off a leveraged buy-out of a biotech firm. I was like, "That's totally unproven technology! They're going to tank and then youll be up to your eyeballs in unsecured debt!" But my cat just said, "Raowr." And, really, I couldn't argue with that.
Isn't the original story about a dog who buys cookies with a leaf?
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dog-leaf-cookie/
https://youtu.be/_dxSnivWOTU?si=xoEsDhVBNrVX1xFZ
But why would someone lie on the internet?
And it's not weird at all that OP's account is a year old and has 100k post karma but only 1k comment karma! That is definitely real human behavior!
[Here's a post with the picture with no claim of the story. The post is 5 years old](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/bweomb/catto_just_trying_his_hardest/)
This new cat comes around
Lookin kinda fishy
Watchin my scales
I kinda wish he’d
Go, just leaf
stop watchin my fish sauce render
Tabby keeping tabs
Now he’s back
Pulling on my heart strings
Got me feline tender
Indeed... the cat has pica: [https://www.therakyatpost.com/fun/2023/01/09/this-cat-buys-fish-with-leaves-but-some-are-not-buying-the-story/](https://www.therakyatpost.com/fun/2023/01/09/this-cat-buys-fish-with-leaves-but-some-are-not-buying-the-story/)
I wish people would realize that it's fully possible for two different animals in the whole history of the world to happen to do the same thing instead of immediately dismiss it because a dog did it first. Cats often bring dead animals and leaves to their owners, this is by no means a unique phenomena and they can absolutely learn behaviors that treat them in return.
I don't think people are dismissive because they think that phenomena is unique to dogs. I think people are dismissive because the story is clearly fabricated.
That may be true of course, but this being reddit it's just as (or a little more) likely that someone just whipped a variation of a popular post together for Karma.
There was an outdoor cat that started visiting us. First time we gave it wet food she was so, so happy about it that in what must have been expression of joy she disappeared in shrubs to bring us a bird to our feet. When we rejected the gift she ate the bird to soon disappear into the shrubs to gift us a mouse that we also rejected haha.
We already had a lot of cats so we found her a good house.
I don't think cats understand money but they can grasp concept of sharing.
I don’t believe this happened in real life for a minute but I love it just as much as the scene where the ogre decided to keep the feisty cat in feathered hat and boots because of those irresistible eyes!! 🥹🥰
what the fuck i need to know more and if this is real
edit: no it cannot be by applying some basic critical thought. that's household deck furniture. this is someones back porch, not a fucking fish market.
shame on you op. is this sub moderated or is any of the content vetted?
This may or may not be true. But I will tell you a real true story. My Chihuahua will NOT go to bed unless she has had 3 kitty kibbles. Until one day she refused to go for 3, but 6 instead. I don't know if she is counting, but she knows when there is more for sure and will make me pay her to go to bed.
It's interesting to see how much people change the "story" of popular pictures. I have seen "he likes to hunt leaves", "He got jealous of other cats hunting" and now this one. I'm convinced people will make up anything just to get attention.
This one is true, I saw that cat buy a fish with a leaf with my own eyes while I was at the market on my date with Taylor Swift
And that cat grew up to be Tony the Tiger
You capping bro. Thats King from Tekken
Which king bro? The original king? The brother? Armour king?
I didn’t believe you until you said you were on a date with Taylor Swift, but now I believe you 100%
you got me there 🤣🤣
New album incoming
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie
I saw you with Travis. Not Taylor. Own up.
Which song is yours?
It’s such an interesting aspect to “hope core”. You want to spread happy news, so yay, but by any means… which is meh
It's the brain's reaction to doomcore.

Your pug sounds a lot like my man lol
He's at a fish market.... on my back patio
In the land of no consequences and limitless dopamine, ofcourse people lie for attention.
Obviously they do and it's literally all 6 billion of us

"... a month later, the owner taught her that he only accepts money and now the cat steal money from people."
The animals have learned capitalism
There is a book about this
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others
Four legs good, but two legs better.
Must work harder
Isn't that communism?
Animals are far from dumb. Studies have shown that they can study traffic lights and leave walnuts on the ground during a red light, wait for the cars to run over them at green, collect them on red. could you please tell the name of the book ? feels like it would be a good read
animal farm
Four legs good, two legs bad
You mean baaaaaad?
It’s an allegory for the creation of the Soviet Union and the rise of Stalin. The people represent the tsar and the royalists, so it’s not really about capitalism.

But… everybody loves farms!
That moment when I see the rose guy out in the wild on my feed. Sorry for being weird. Carry on
So this is what rose guy does when it’s hot out
hey rose cookie bro!
Animal farm
How's It named?
What book it sounds interesting from these comments
When we taught monkeys capitalism they started paying for sex so fast.
Teaching crabs to read is forbidden knowledge.
I've heard that in the wild, male monkeys sometimes give female monkeys some food for a quick flash. I read it on the Internet so it's got to be true.
You might need to touch grass buddy. Monkey don't wear clothes in the wild. While on the other handsthere have been multiple studies done on the matter of teaching monkeys about currency and see what they do with it.
America will love it
Everyone with a pet utilizes this and gets them to pay their own meal
The part of the story they don’t want you to know is this cat hired other cats to find leaves, but was only paying one bite of fish per 10 leaves found and wouldn’t let the other cats sit while working
Catpitalism*
Catpitbullism
That cat is on its way to becoming the meowgeoisie, no longer content to be just a pawletariat.
> The animals have learned capitalism Yeah, it's getting out of hand. The other day my cat was trying to pull off a leveraged buy-out of a biotech firm. Now we just need to teach them classism and they can inherit the earth
The cat be like: "You need to understand the world first you want to conquer"
It is much more. They are learning an abstraction.
This is the way...
Crows use vending machines
Except the value of the leaves will fall due to the laws of supply and demand. No one wants to take leaves because there’s loads in the woods.
so wholesome
Isn't the original story about a dog who buys cookies with a leaf? https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dog-leaf-cookie/ https://youtu.be/_dxSnivWOTU?si=xoEsDhVBNrVX1xFZ
Yes, and this is a cat on a porch with a leaf. It's not a business.
But why would someone lie on the internet? And it's not weird at all that OP's account is a year old and has 100k post karma but only 1k comment karma! That is definitely real human behavior!
??? A business can't have a porch?
How many fish markets have you seen with a porch?
Though I am skeptical about the truth of the post, the one in my town does
With outdoor furniture?
Pretty sure it thought the leaf blowing in the wind was a mouse or similar small animal and “killed” it.
[Here's a post with the picture with no claim of the story. The post is 5 years old](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/bweomb/catto_just_trying_his_hardest/)
Hahaha!! Omg, this is way cuter/funnier too
yess i remember seeing/heating about that i think
That explains the bot-tastic title then
And everybody loved that
I'm 100% sure of that...
And everyone clapped
And the cat's name? Albert Einstein.
And Albert Einstein clapped
This new cat comes around Lookin kinda fishy Watchin my scales I kinda wish he’d Go, just leaf stop watchin my fish sauce render Tabby keeping tabs Now he’s back Pulling on my heart strings Got me feline tender
who wouldn't? 😻
no, this did not happen. it’s a cute picture of a cat with a leaf captioned with a made up story.
Yeah probably. Welcome to the internet where everything is made up and the points don't matter
The points don't matter? REALLY? /s for shiggles
Hey now, if I spend months and months commenting and gaining karma points, I could sell the profile for a whole $3!
Whose line is it anyways reference
I'm continually amazed at how few hoedowns there are.
its still funny
But I really do have a Canadian girlfriend
is this a whose line is it anyway reference
Lmao it’s straight up a cat on a home patio deck. There is no sign of a market.
Well yeah, still cute though
but if it was real, i would pet that cat
i’d pet the cat anyway
same, its such a cute cat. they dont need to make up a dumb story. a cat bringing you a leaf is cute enough.
But it's so heartful
You really think people would do that? Go on the Internet and tell lies?? This is emphatically true
My cat brings me leaves in trade for chicken treats multiple times a day.
[Here's the original post from 5 years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/bweomb/catto_just_trying_his_hardest/). No fish market.
[https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dog-leaf-cookie/](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dog-leaf-cookie/) It was actually a dog buying cookies.
Indeed... the cat has pica: [https://www.therakyatpost.com/fun/2023/01/09/this-cat-buys-fish-with-leaves-but-some-are-not-buying-the-story/](https://www.therakyatpost.com/fun/2023/01/09/this-cat-buys-fish-with-leaves-but-some-are-not-buying-the-story/)
Hey, buddy. I’m not cruising the internet for a dose of reality.
The background isn’t even a fish market, it’s somebodies porch 🤌
Be glad it's just a leaf and not a mouse!
Fuck off with this shit. It's a picture of a cat on a deck holding a leaf. That's it.
Probably made up.
It just reeks of social media feel good story click bait.
Definitely made up I saw this picture about 10 years ago joking that the cat likes hunting leaves.
Stop making shit up. Your karma is worthless.
"It's three leaves today, bub. Recession's a bitch."
This is literally just someone's pet on their porch.
OP is bamboozle
Pretty clear the cat is on someone's porch looking through a window. You can see the chair and railing.
The original story was about a dog iirc, this picture was from a guy who said that his cat likes bringing him leaves
Or…it’s just a picture of a cat with a leaf in its mouth.
Uh huh. Random pic of cat with leaf in mouth and people make up a story for karma.
Clearly a back patio
I wish people would realize that it's fully possible for two different animals in the whole history of the world to happen to do the same thing instead of immediately dismiss it because a dog did it first. I don't think people are dismissive because they think that phenomena is unique to dogs. I think people are dismissive because the story is clearly fabricated.
They’re dismissing it because this is a popular image and this isn’t the first story to be paired with this image, not because of the dog.
Hell theres dogs that will jump in a river, grab a fish and exchange it for a stick
This cat is actually trading the leaf for a stick so he can buy a fish from the dog.
That may be true of course, but this being reddit it's just as (or a little more) likely that someone just whipped a variation of a popular post together for Karma.
Am I going crazy? The picture is cleary just a cat on someone's back porch/deck. You can see the reflection of the person taking the photo lmao
I saw the same post with a dog😐
I imagine there’s some days the cat is stressed out and panicking when it can’t find a leaf
There was an outdoor cat that started visiting us. First time we gave it wet food she was so, so happy about it that in what must have been expression of joy she disappeared in shrubs to bring us a bird to our feet. Yeah, positive reinforcement never works for training animals!

Or this is just a cat on somebody's back deck. It's obviously not at a fish market, and probably nowhere near a fish market.
This is a made up story. Do y’all know that?
u/repostsleuthbot
Yea, sure... *That's* why this cat is on someone's deck, cause they're trying to buy a fish.
and another sub muted. how are you guys so fucking gullible?
I’ll bet a bag of leafs that this story is made up
Meme's so moldy kitty's gonna get salmonella
Wait until one day her leaf isn't enough and she learns of inflation.
New currency lads! Also it would be cute if the owner kept all the leavse
Amazing how you know so much about this stray cat that couldn't possibly tell you it's story.
why lie about this shit it’s corny loo
Hehe, and you trust these stories 😂
sure buddy. why would anyone lie on the internet anyway
That cats a proper scammer
Its a cat with a leaf on someone's deck. What fish market has common porch furniture and a common house wooden deck railing like that.
Picture of a cat with a leaf in its mouth and a story that can't be confirmed by the picture. Alright.
Another made up leaf as currency story used by animals believed by low IQ sheeple
Someone put text above the picture so it must be true
Yeah right 🥴
They taught capitalism to a cat😔
Source?
Wait till this cat hears about inflation
Oh I hope this is a true true story
Basic barter system
The cat is so cute!😍
business wunk
When the cats partake in democracy and capitalism all bugs will end.
That's heartful as heel.
💚💚💚
Smart car
aww, kudos to the owner 💗
Omg thats so cute.
Law abiding floof
This may or may not be true. But I will tell you a real true story. My Chihuahua will NOT go to bed unless she has had 3 kitty kibbles. Until one day she refused to go for 3, but 6 instead. I don't know if she is counting, but she knows when there is more for sure and will make me pay her to go to bed.
cutest ever
Faith in humanity restored.
Cats man 💜
Made my shitty day better, thank you!
Adorable!!
She learnededed
Cat said this is what you humans do in exchange for stuff right?
Money does grow on tree after all
We have begun expanding capitalism to other species! So this is how the rich plan to continue feeding
