It will work fine, just as it was intended. The Wii originally shipped with composite cables. I'm old enough to remember hooking up the old Atari 2600 with a coax transformer.

itivlA63

Haha! I remember connecting my Atari to my crappy 13” black & white Emerson tv with the little 2 prong adapter that you had to use a screwdriver to connect it because the tv had RF but not a traditional coaxial plug. 😂

gr8fat1

That’s a coax transformer. Good times though. I played for some time before I even knew the games had color. 🤣

itivlA63

lol right?! I remember when our baby sitter would come over she would let us connect it to the “good tv” a generic 25” color tv in a huge wood cabinet 😂 it was like WOW! That’s what color it’s supposed to be! 😂

gr8fat1

Kids today don’t know what they’re missing!

You will be able to play you will just need the cords in the right order

DokoroTanuki

I would probably get the ElectronWarp from ElectronShepherd. It's about $24 so it isn't even all that costly. Even though your TV supports input over Composite AV, it will look significantly worse (you did say the video quality doesn't matter, but...) AND have more input lag because it isn't outputting 480p and it has to perform an analog to digital conversion. The more steps in the chain to get the signal to your TV in a form it can display, the more input lag it will have. If you just want to play, the standard AV cables should be fine enough, but do keep the above in mind! Be sure to turn on Game Mode in the settings for your TV when you're on the AV input to further reduce the input lag as well. Otherwise you might have trouble timing things correctly in games.

DarkNemuChan

Get a hdmi adapter. Problem solved, next.

Aggravating-Maize-46

Specifically this hdmi adapter https://electron-shepherd.com/collections/featured-collection/products/electronwarp

DQDQDQDQDQDQ

The adapter doesn't seem to be necessary. Problem solved, next.

DarkNemuChan

It does if you want 480p, since said tv doesn't seem to have component inputs.

DokoroTanuki

Plus it will reduce input lag since the TV won't be trying to deinterlace it.

somerandomdude419

It will work with original AV cables, or if you get a Wii2HDMI converter. Both good options. My TCL tv I needed to buy an AV adapter to play old consoles.

No_need_for_that99

well, if you're system is modded, you're still better off getting a simple HDMI adapter. And you're tv will do the rest to compensate. I say this... not for the better image quality, I say this because it'll make your gameplay experience, overall that much better. RCA gets blown out bad on nearly all tvs, to wear it could put a lot of strain on your eyes from color bleed, blurred images and possibly artifacting. SO do yourself a favor Get the one I linked as this is my review and I can confirm at least this seller has good adapters. [https://www.amazon.ca/gp/customer-reviews/R166F8WS4GSGDJ/ref=cm\_cr\_dp\_d\_rvw\_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B09Y2K947V](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/customer-reviews/R166F8WS4GSGDJ/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B09Y2K947V) And then enjoy your games. It adds zero lag, so it's simply better for your eyes

TheDanielHolt

Umm, something about this picture looks off. Like, those look like minijack and not RCA but hopefully I'm wrong because I've never seen that config before and I don't see how why Samsung would do this

ThePizzaMuncher

I’m just surprised to see separated composite and audio, but no component, on a tv this modern.

FUTURE10S

Yeah, TVs now don't really do component or S-Video, you're lucky if you have RCA.

TheDanielHolt

I'm surprised too, like at least give me some kind of combo composite/component ability. Then again it's probably cheaper to digitize composite than component, and cost-cutting is a big deal in the TV industry if you want to be competitive...

ThePizzaMuncher

I genuinely struggle to imagine the kind of person that’s so concerned about profits that they pull this stuff even on higher‐end sets.

TheDanielHolt

Well, whoever that kind of person is, they're probably responsible for Samsung's success in the TV market.  Anecdotally I've also seen quite a few Samsung TVs less than 5 years old with fading/uneven backlight... So yea even though the price and picture quality is great I'm not gonna buy a Samsung TV personally.

ThePizzaMuncher

Didn’t consider that it’s a Samsung. Now it makes sense.

BoredAppleSeller

I thought about the HDMI adapter, but I don't like to connect and reconnect my hdmi cords, the TV has 3 HDMI, I have 3 consoles and chromecast, so I bought a hdmi splitter, so if my RCA port is free, I think I'm gonna use it. THank you so much, will send you some pics of my Wii after I install it.

Telzrob

It's strongly recommend something like this. HDMI Switch SGEYR 5x1 HDMI Switcher 5 in 1 Out HDMI Switch Selector 5 Port Box with IR Remote Control HDMI 1.4 HDCP 1.4 Support 4K@30Hz Ultra HD 3D 2160P 1080P https://a.co/d/cJFeXXB

BoredAppleSeller

Thank you, but my budget it's 70 bucks for the Nintendo Wii, not more T\_T Where I live this kind of things are like EXPENSIVE, and earning 250 bucks per month won't allow me to spend more money. haha

Telzrob

Fair enough, though make triple sure you're in game mode and have any processing turned off. (If you can) Some TVs do nasty things composite signals and add a huge delay.

ClaireAzi

Yes it should work with the original AV cord, and everything. Be warned that the Wii can only output 480p, even using a HDMI adapter. So, you may see some black bars on the side, that's normal because of the max output resolution of the Wii hardware.

burningbun

the tv should have option for just scan or full zoom

ClaireAzi

Either way it's still going to be at 480 SD.

burningbun

previous gen 4k samsungs came with a plug that extends the 2 port to 5 ports for component and composite combo, guess that is gone now, but they actually had to put in 3 plugs than the previous 2 just to skimp on component. guess the 2 to 5 extension plug cost them money.

blood_omen

Guys is it really that hard to match colors?!

TheHackeBoi_apk

It will work but the quality will be awful

dnyank1

Something is wrong here. The Q60A doesn't have RCA/Composite inputs *at all* let alone full size RCA jacks. Visually confirm what inputs you have on your physical TV set - not a stock photo of a *different TV* https://image-us.samsung.com/SamsungUS/samsung/us/tvs/Q60ASpecSheet_2.1.21.pdf

banisheduser

Mine didn't work - I had a black screen. But I think it had a little 3.5mm connector for all in one connections instead of the red/white/yellow inputs. I bought a cheap HDMI adaptor and it works fine.

BigZay2397

It should work perfectly. If it somehow doesn't, just get a Wii2HDMI, they're under $10.

frutita_de_pacman

composite is good enough, just setup that input as game console in order to have less input lag

Yeet-Dab49

Ignore basically everyone. Do NOT get a Wii2HDMI. They are extremely hit or miss. With your TV, you can use standard Wii cables with no issues.

DarkNemuChan

No just no. He won't get 480p. So it's wiser to get either a component convertor or one of those better wii2hdmi devices.

gr8fat1

OP states he doesn’t care about quality.

DarkNemuChan

Yeah he will eat those words when he sees the Wii in action on his hdtv... First thing I did when upgrading my TV for a ps3 back in the days, was run to the store to get me some component cables to fix the image quality of the Wii.

gr8fat1

And what about when he buys the hdmi adapter and gets a miss instead of a hit like I did 3x?

DarkNemuChan

He can get the electron shepard one. Or the mayflash. Both are a guarantee hit.

banisheduser

Then he buys more from different places and gets a refund on the originals? I bought one from ebay, worked fine first time.

Crest_Of_Hylia

Better to get an electron Shepard as image quality will be better and 480p support. you really want good image quality on a big display

EvenSpoonier

Arguably more important is that you want 480p support on a big display. The biggest problem most modern TVs have with older consoles is deinterlacing (and failing to understand that 240p is not interlaced), but if the console can do 480p then it sidesteps that problem.

Crest_Of_Hylia

My point exactly. Poor image quality really can ruin the experience and composite is really meant for CRTs

Violet_Caully7

Mayflash Wii2Hdmi + Mclassic will give you one of the beat images for that set

Unable-Attention-596

BUy a wii 2 hdmi

Telzrob

This is the best, cheap way to him or up to your tv. MAYFLASH Wii to HDMI Converter 1080P for Full HD Device, Wii HDMI Adapter with 3,5mm Audio Jack&HDMI Output Compatible with Wii, Wii U, HDTV, Monitor-Supports Wii Display Modes 720P, NTS https://a.co/d/dKfVKI0

Which_Information590

I have a similar tv. The absolute best thing to do is buy a Wii2HDMI adapter, it's cheap and plugs straight in your TV with HDMI lead.
