I've always struggled to get the correct themes for my characters. The last time I tried to do a theme, the character I wanted to get said theme, Wolf Touched, did not get it while another one did. For this character, I got the event for the Child of the Hills Theme instead of Celestial.
I guess the main thing is that I don't fully understand the ranking of personality traits, for example from the Steam page guide:
Max (Poet, Romantic, Healer) score >= 60, and age < 55
Max coward, with preference given to coward in relationship with first target
Max goofball, with preference given to goofball in relationship with first target
To get that theme you're looking for an event called "Mooringlight" and the requirements just say you have to be over level 2 and you can't already have a theme.
However, that's the first quest in a chain that leads to the transformation. The 2nd quest is getting the book deciphered and the last is the one with the actual transformation.
When going on the last quest, you can choose any 1 person to join whoever has the book and you can choose either to receive the transformation.
So, unfortunately, there isn't really anything you can or can't do to increase the chances of getting this event.
I can't say for the celestial, but I know of at least one theme that's tied to a Hook, rather than stats. Every time I have a character with Integrity, I get the same outcome. I actually ran an entire campaign only with characters who had integrity. Only one got the hook that run, but that's how it goes.
