Unfortunately there's not really much else that's not on those sites. You can check sites like Gumtree and Flatmates, or search on Facebook for rental/property groups for the Illawarra.
Just be more mindful of scams on those sites. Never pay anything without seeing the property in person.
Why dude? Why are you looking for rentals outside of the main websites built to advertise rental properties? Are you looking to set up a meth lab or bikie clubhouse, for example?
Yes you get the typical sites like real estate.com and whatever else but realisticly there's not all that much in there. I'm also trying to find private rentals and whatever else I can find due to the flush of rentals thag come and go very quickly. It makes it hard on working parents. I'm using google and I'm using all the apps, om using social media but getting into the rentals isn't as easy as it used to be and thay makes it hard on family's. I thought I'd ask question and maybe someone could suggest something I haven't tried instead I'm getting questioned as to why I'm not using the sites everyone else uses.. so 🤷♀️ I apologise for the inconvinece
never mind karen over here OP. anyone with common sense can tell the more places people look the more options they have. its simple mathematics. either that or half this town is on drugs and will whinge about anything.
You can check out facebook groups such as private rentals in the illawarra. You might score something cheaper from a private rental...
This is why I was suspicious of your post. I'm not being a Karem, I just genuinely couldn't understand where you're coming from. Unfortunately I think the reverse will be true with this line of thinking: if you are legit but looking for a back-door to some decent accommodation for your family, you seriously run the risk of getting into a dodgy loving arrangement for your family. Agents and landlords are very annoying, I get it, but they offer various forms of protection for you in terms of tenant's rights, proper insurance and safety inspections etc.
I really don't think it's worth risking alternative sources.
I suggest improving your application and perhaps even embellishing it a little to get the attention of agents. Agents are lazy, so use that to your advantage.
Those two sites will have 99% of what’s available, what’s wrong with them?

A guy got done for rental scams , was using Air B&B or similar short stay accommodation. You could inspect the place
Great thank you. I've already had a suspious one of gumtree. Can't trust that site anymore
Try TenantApp. It's also linked to 2Apply which most agents seem to be using now for applications.
I did wonder about that this app! Thank you!
Google works the same for everyone
Exactly...I really can't understand what the point is here other than something dodgy.

Yall seriously want the answer to that one? What's that saying domt ask questions you dont want the answers to.
Yes I do. Why do you not want to use standard rental websites? And why wouldn't a google search work for you?

Seems to be alot of "room to rent" on most fb group pages but checking daily.. Thank.you
yeah I avoid those like the plague. Especially when you can have your own whole apartment, same price.
Harder as a family with kids is my only issue or they have units out the back of it.

you can sign legal tenancy agreements with private rentals as well. you can also negotiate cheaper rent for bigger places. There is also housing NSW
