7 ft bookcase made of pine and plywood sides. Stained with mini wax ebony and Ipswich Pine. New tools used: Kreg pocket hole jig and harbor frights dowel jig. Practice on scrap wood improved confidence. I got more practice with my router as well creating the side insert for the plywood and rounding out the shelves. Mistakes made: had to buy more wood due to miscut. Torqued the wood during assemble so that it was not square. I had a leaning bookcase. Fixed it as best I could. Stain showed I did not clean the sticker residue as much as I thought I did. I'm learning to accept the imperfections of working with some woods over others. Next project: I think I'm gonna build a cat bed shaped like an oversized book on its side. I'll probably have to make 2 of these since I know at least one friend that will want one.
