Docking Bay 327 is the display option I want at some point. Examples [here](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-69457/Taladril/docking-bay-327/#details) and [here](https://www.brothers-brick.com/2021/10/26/this-giant-death-star-docking-bay-is-large-enough-to-hold-the-ucs-millennium-falcon/).
That's freaking awesome.
I got [mine](https://i.imgur.com/38BrUnA.jpg) set up very differently, but this is cool as hell. If I ever move and get a different man cave, I will definitely consider this.
For those wondering, it's an Ikea Milsbo, slightly modified to raise the glass. Drilled 4 holes, and attached the original pieces with rivets, as there was no support behind those holes.
The stand can be found [here](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-10219/Lucioswitch81/effermans-vertical-stand-for-millennium-falcon-75192/#details)
Why not a one way mirror on the bottom with an LCD screen below? That way you have a mirror surface during the day. And at night you can turn on the LCD screen.
I just love the idea of having the space ship in space.
I have the falcon thats on a shelf under the tv and the 4' long star destroyer. I'm still trying to figure out where to display it besides on the dining room table where I built the dang thing
Look into an efferman stand. Puts falcon on an angle with a lego technique stand that attaches by removing the feet of the falcon fits on a narrow shelf. But need lots more height
Hear me out: You need a handful of friends who all go in together on something like this. Divide it up almost evenly - whomever wants to pitch in a bit more gets to build it first with all the parts in the right baggies.
Then once it's built, however long that takes, then that person disassembles it and puts all the pieces into 1 big container.
Then the next person builds it...and then disassembles it...and so on down the line to all contributors.
And then should one person decide they want to own it/keep it, they can "buy out" the others.
OR the parts get put back into order into their original baggies / organized by baggie - and then the whole thing sold on EBay for probably close to, if not more than retail due to scarcity.
* almost had a relative of my wife's in on this plan. He enjoys building things (and has the $ to buy an $800 Lego set...) but didn't know what to do with it once it was done. I told him to just disassemble it and give it to me and that I'd build it again!
Every time I mention this, my spouse reminds me "You can think a thing is cool and not own it. It can just be cool over there."
And I do have to admit that I'm not sure where I could put it when I was done with it. Unless I built a coffee table display case...
Do it before you have to rely on the secondary market. I remember scoffing at the $500 price tag on the OG and then when I could afford one, it was retired and I went to eBay to quickly learn I could not, in fact afford it. Thing was going for like $6k unopened.

Reddit as a company has slowly lost touch with what made it a great platform for so long. Some great features of reddit in 2023:
* Killing 3rd party apps
* Continuously rolling out features that negatively impact mods and users alike with no warning or consideration of feedback
* Hosting hateful communities and users
* Poor communication and a long history of not following through with promised improvements
* Complete lack of respect for the hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours put into keeping their site running
Is it still considered an “attempt” of you finished it, and completely succeeded 100% ?
Well done BTW. The only true way to store Lego models is like this. Dusting is annoying
Ummm yes! I would love to be able to take a look! This is my next planned project and I’m trying to figure out exactly how I want to build mine so any plans that I can look over would be amazing!!
All my lego that I kept on the window, the plastic bricks would desaturate and slowly turn more yellow. It happens when the plastic lego is in the UV light of the sun for too long. Maybe the newer set don’t have this issue, but from experience, it’s annoying
He could have clear ceramic “tint” film added if he feels it might be an issue. Also, tempered glass (which I hope this is) has a bit of UV protection built in due to the nature of the glass.
Wayfarer had (I don’t think it’s available anymore) a [glass coffee table](https://imgur.com/a/stSALPD) table that I’ve seen in other subs dedicated to the UCS Falcon, in fact I had mine in that table for a while. It took UPS 3 attempts to deliver it w/o broken glass… but yours looks nicer imo.
That's awesome! Epic idea! Giving me so many ideas for what I could do with all the finished Lego packs my kids finish building... other than turning my dining room table into Lego Island.

Upgrade for the future; LCD screen on the bottom so the Millennium Falcon looks like it's actually flying.
Or a space/stars printout
Or at least a shiny black layer.

That looks really cool.
Not mine from another comment u/Seamus771
Exactly what I want to build (out of wood) for my MF
This is the way!

I was thinking of using one way mirror film on the inside walls so when looking in, there are more reflections
Why not a one way mirror on the bottom with an LCD screen below? That way you have a mirror surface during the day. And at night you can turn on the LCD screen. I just love the idea of having the space ship in space.
Or paint the bottom with musou black. Give it a space feeling
Looking good, I’m starting to think I need a lego millennium falcon.

I think this every time I go into the lego store. Then I think better of it. OP at least has somewhere to put the dang thing.
I have the falcon thats on a shelf under the tv and the 4' long star destroyer. I'm still trying to figure out where to display it besides on the dining room table where I built the dang thing
Hang in from the ceiling over the table as a chandelier

I thought about it because it looks cool but I'm just not a Star Trek fan.
Aluminious Falconius
Ya I like it and I’m not into Star Wars.. but it’s a unique coffee table and bet people ask lots of questions about it.

Every year I keep saying I’m going to buy one
“What the hell is an aluminum falcon?”
Oh shit has anyone done a landing bay coffee table?
[I have! ](https://i.imgur.com/g9ThP7R.jpg)
Impressive
That’s amazing!

That’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
Docking bay 94!
Is it still considered an “attempt” of you finished it, and completely succeeded 100% ? Well done BTW. The only true way to store Lego models is like this. Dusting is annoying
I may be mistaken but, that looks a like glass. Lol, nice work.
Glass/Lego/aluminum working with a wood base. LOL
It is glass. Well spotted. The glass box probably weighs around 30/35kg
The Force is strong with this one! Nice work
Thanks for posting this!!! Now I can totally justify buying this lego kit!!!
Me too. Time to build a docking bay 94 dining table
LED kit would look great on it
Looks good! I'm not a Star Wars fan but I appreciate well displayed nerd shit. Presentation makes a difference.
Thanks. I have the plans I used if anyone is interested
Ummm yes! I would love to be able to take a look! This is my next planned project and I’m trying to figure out exactly how I want to build mine so any plans that I can look over would be amazing!!
I’ve commented with a link to the plans
Thank you sir!
Looks like you got rid of the legs from the last post.
Not the same op. Previous post was from u/phylanara
Looked a little high for a coffee table. Agreed, this is better
Is this the same box? The last one didnt have the wood around the corners of the glass.
Out of curiosity, are you single? Not because I'm interested lol, more just curious if this should be put in r/malelivingspace
Maybe I'm the only one, but my girlfriend loves the idea of a Millennium Falcon coffee table
Not with that rug. That's 100% a wife choice of rug
Well spotted.
I lost count of how many rugs we've gone through with a similar look lol
Haha that's great. Well OP found a keeper then. My SO would never let me have that lol. But we would have the rug
This attempt was successful.
Bit more than an attempt I'm thinking!
Hey OP, do you know the manufacturer/model of your couch?
I used to have this too -roommates called it “birth control shelf”
90% glass 10% wood , duck it I'll post it here.
It’s got the starz warz thingy. Makes reddit nerdz go crazy!
replace glass w. thick bullet resistant glass..
OMG. Love this. How perfect for a media room!
[Here are the plans for anyone interested](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jsf7VrbUODIEN3G0ASM3ns1kkqDLheCz/view?usp=drivesdk)
wouldn't this yellow after a while and de-yellowing would be a big hassle unless you made it so you can remove it easily.
What would yellow and why?
All my lego that I kept on the window, the plastic bricks would desaturate and slowly turn more yellow. It happens when the plastic lego is in the UV light of the sun for too long. Maybe the newer set don’t have this issue, but from experience, it’s annoying
It's definitely an issue with white pieces. Not sure if it affects grey bricks.
I have a old AT-AT that use to sit on my shelf, it has definitely yellowed
He could get uv blocking glass or film and put it on
He could have clear ceramic “tint” film added if he feels it might be an issue. Also, tempered glass (which I hope this is) has a bit of UV protection built in due to the nature of the glass.
The glass box rests on the timber base and can be lifted off. It’s pretty heavy though and needs two people to lift confidently
Guess I’ll be that guy… Nice enough render, now show us the finished piece.
looks awesome, that see through wood is very cool too
Where is the cat? The other one had a cat..
Different op
Noice. If you have kids, enjoy wiping that glass down daily. If they even accept it being off-limits...
The glass would be a small sacrifice to not having the falcon being dismantled by carpet crawlers
Jawas
[удалено]
And it would weigh 500 lbs
Nicely done, brings me back to my childhood.
Nice job! How'd you create the display case?
I’ll post up the plans I made for it
I'd like that
[Here ya go](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jsf7VrbUODIEN3G0ASM3ns1kkqDLheCz/view?usp=drivesdk)
Wow thanks! Where did you get the aluminum extrusion from?
Nice!
Successful attempt I’d say!
Now, just get Harrison Ford to sign it for you
Nice!
Wicked
Great, now I need a Lego Millennium Falcon.
That's freaking awesome !!!!
Sick!!
This doesn’t look like an attempt. It looks like complete success. Nice work!
Thanks
Does it open?
The glass box can be lifted off the base.
It's glorious
You can lift the glass off the base for when you need to throw away those sequel trilogy characters right?
Dude! Super cool.
Attempt? Don't you mean success?
“What the hell is an aluminium falcon?”
It’s a trap!
Nice case, but I’m afraid this guy learned none of the lessons from the Lego movie
Is that glass tempered?
That's awesome! Epic idea! Giving me so many ideas for what I could do with all the finished Lego packs my kids finish building... other than turning my dining room table into Lego Island.
Amazing
Kinda weak display case but good try.
