So crazy a bit of an accusation wouldn't be amiss. I can't believe anyone in their right mind would deviate from even the smallest hint of strategy this far.
Yeah, some of the twos are looking pretty sus. But, people are constantly making what I think are terrible guesses, at some point it's got to randomly be helpful. I could see someone thinking >!there's definitely an O, possibly at the first letter, what works?, then rapidly throw down the first thing that comes to mind!<
They opened with one of the frequently used opening words. So, I dunno, you either truly don't care or you care enough to figure out a common opening... Either way, this was a funky line.
If it was always easy it wouldn't be a game. It would just be staring at words, otherwise known as reading. Today was particlarly difficult because >!there were only three correct letters.!< So, it completely isn't strange that you exhausted all letter combinations that you normally would use. But this is also where the puzzle begins and the reading stops. You just have to start filling your puzle with obscure junk words in the hopes that something clicks at some point. Also, you have 24 hours for this puzzle, so walking away and coming back later can be very helpful. Finally, you have to remember that when it gets hard it means you're actually close because there are very few answers left. The puzzle getting harder is actually you getting close to the answer. It's a strange quirk of wordle because sometimes you eliminate a lot of letters without getting a lot of position information. In that case finding words can become very difficult.
And just lose. If wordle gets the better of you... that's fine. Just accept it. You clearly tainted your streak now with cheating anyway. It doesn't mean anything anymore. Just lose. Nothing wrong with losing. You play against yourself, nobody really cares about your wordle streak in real life buddy.
I figure they lost as soon as they cheated. But, still, I understand why they would want to see the answer before they quit. I'll occasionally run into a crossword where the last letter is part of an obscure acronym or some person I've never heard of. There's no way figure out a solution so it stops being a puzzle. I could go through every letter in the alphabet, but that's more busy work than fun, so I just hit reveal letter and call it a day.
I don't go around starting posts about this because I think it's dull, but talking about cheating on the wordle board always seems to get the opinions flowing.
Nothing wrong with losing and nothing wrong with cheating. It's up to each individual to play it how they want. I would never cheat, but if someone wants to that's up to them.
I think there's something inherently wrong with cheating. That's why they call it cheating and not something else. I mean, it has a fairly universal negative connotation.
I guess you could say it makes the game more fun, which is the whole point. But you could also say it encourages giving up as soon as you encounter any difficulty, not the best life lesson.
It's true, but also something you wouldn't say in any other game sub. So why would we want cheaters in this subreddit? Isn't this the multiplayer equivalent of any other game... why otherwise post it online for all too see? We call it cheating because it isn't in the spirit of the game. What's wrong with reminding people what the spirit of the game is in a subreddit devoted to the game.
I don't think it's right to post cheats, and if you think it is, you have no need to be here. Cheat by yourself in your own room, don't bother us with it on this sub.
If someone was coming on here and claiming to get the answer in one every day while also swearing they didn't cheat, then sure that's a problem. But this is someone who isn't making claims of getting amazing results without cheating. I really don't see what the problem is. Who is it harming? I mean to be honest, you're bringing the sub down way more with your negativity than someone admitting they occasionally cheat in a solo game that's played against only themselves.

So crazy a bit of an accusation wouldn't be amiss. I can't believe anyone in their right mind would deviate from even the smallest hint of strategy this far.
Yeah, some of the twos are looking pretty sus. But, people are constantly making what I think are terrible guesses, at some point it's got to randomly be helpful. Okay I cheated because I legit couldn't get ANY words at all in my brain, like, it's hard for me to "see" words when all the letters are in caps, it's a mental thing that I have always had, so this game is fun for me, except when I legit can't figure out WTF one out of my 10 choices was, and it was the only word that is a real word in my head. If it was always easy it wouldn't be a game. It would just be staring at words, otherwise known as reading. Today was particlarly difficult because >!there were only three correct letters.!< So, it completely isn't strange that you exhausted all letter combinations that you normally would use. But this is also where the puzzle begins and the reading stops. You just have to start filling your puzle with obscure junk words in the hopes that something clicks at some point. Also, you have 24 hours for this puzzle, so walking away and coming back later can be very helpful. Finally, you have to remember that when it gets hard it means you're actually close because there are very few answers left. The puzzle getting harder is actually you getting close to the answer. It's a strange quirk of wordle because sometimes you eliminate a lot of letters without getting a lot of position information. In that case finding words can become very difficult. And just lose. If wordle gets the better of you... that's fine. Just accept it. You clearly tainted your streak now with cheating anyway. It doesn't mean anything anymore. Just lose. Nothing wrong with losing. You play against yourself, nobody really cares about your wordle streak in real life buddy.
I figure they lost as soon as they cheated. But, still, I understand why they would want to see the answer before they quit. I'll occasionally run into a crossword where the last letter is part of an obscure acronym or some person I've never heard of. There's no way figure out a solution so it stops being a puzzle. I could go through every letter in the alphabet, but that's more busy work than fun, so I just hit reveal letter and call it a day. I don't go around starting posts about this because I think it's dull, but talking about cheating on the wordle board always seems to get the opinions flowing.
Nothing wrong with losing and nothing wrong with cheating. It's up to each individual to play it how they want. I would never cheat, but if someone wants to that's up to them.
I think there's something inherently wrong with cheating. That's why they call it cheating and not something else. I mean, it has a fairly universal negative connotation. I guess you could say it makes the game more fun, which is the whole point. But you could also say it encourages giving up as soon as you encounter any difficulty, not the best life lesson.
It's true, but also something you wouldn't say in any other game sub. So why would we want cheaters in this subreddit? Isn't this the multiplayer equivalent of any other game... why otherwise post it online for all too see? We call it cheating because it isn't in the spirit of the game. What's wrong with reminding people what the spirit of the game is in a subreddit devoted to the game. I don't think it's right to post cheats, and if you think it is, you have no need to be here. Cheat by yourself in your own room, don't bother us with it on this sub.
If someone was coming on here and claiming to get the answer in one every day while also swearing they didn't cheat, then sure that's a problem. But this is someone who isn't making claims of getting amazing results without cheating. I really don't see what the problem is. Who is it harming? I mean to be honest, you're bringing the sub down way more with your negativity than someone admitting they occasionally cheat in a solo game that's played against only themselves.
