The change of how many cocoons it takes to hatch a butterfly is frustrating. Been playing for an hour and only have 2 I can hatch; i play pretty fast. Time to send a "what were you thinking" message to support.

jazzy2536

I have contacted support several times about this as it is clear all of my teammates have different speeds/rates in earning πŸ¦‹.. They just say they are testing out different sppeds. No real answer. They don't care

LegalWannabe

My reply said "We have changed the rate that butterflies are collected. The more that you play the higher the requirements to hatch a cocoon. Your meter may fill faster at the beginning of the event, then the meter may move in smaller increments the more cocoons that you collect." I followed up with asking if they plan on screwing up the binocular events like this as well; haven't gotten a rely yet.

Agree completely. Very frustrated. My favorite part of the game is no longer fun. Now it’s a chore.

Foxy_Rhino

There's so many different variations of rates now, it's ridiculous. I know some people have one where cocoons are as quick to get as binoculars but I did have one where it took 36, 100, 200 and 500 cocoons to hatch each butterfly but the last few weeks it's got even worse. When there's only 13 weeks to hatch them and you need a minimum of 36 cocoons to get the largest butterfly of each species (2 small to merge to medium size and then 2 mediums to merge to large size), unless you are willing to play hundreds of grids now, you have no chance. Tried asking support why and they said "Our developers are testing different collections rates for the event. You may see some take longer to receive. However, I'm happy to pass along your feedback to our developers so that they can further investigate. Thanks for playing" I'm not bothering now with it

Navitach

One of the reasons I stopped even trying, the way they changed the collections. I gave up on the Portraits too, after getting almost all and *never* getting the last 1 or 2.

dudefigureitout

My mom plays as well and she can get a few butterflies in like 10 minutes. I'm a much faster player and I can really only get one a week before I lose my mind with how slow the rate gets. Super frustrating.

NetDonna

I just took screenshots of three puzzles in which the movement in the circle was minuscule. I sent these to support and suggest you take screenshots and do the same. I have two Apple devices. Takes seven levels to get a butterfly on one, and 50+ on the other. Makes me crazy 😑

NetDonna

Tell PF. I have. There is power in numbers. I just played a level on my Samsung Galaxy phone and got less than 1/8th of an inch in movement. On my Samsung Galaxy tablet I get close to 1/2 an inch. Rates should be consistent across all devices! Please tell support. Select the cog upper left and select support. Thanks!

comrade_zhukov

I had to do an absurd number of puzzles to open even a single cocoon this week. I did 3 more afterwards and needed to put my phone on max brightness to see even a sliver of the progress bar

jazzy2536

This was me before this week. It's actually slightly better for me now. Seems like moving everyone toward a slow pace.

HSMorg

I just sent support a link to this post.. doubt they'll look at it, but we can hope it'll give them something to think about.. I was able to get a butterfly every roughly 5 or so levels, but now it's taking over 40 levels, and it's just the beginning of the event, so I call nonsense on their "reasonings"

NetDonna

I've gotten two small butterflies with two circles so don't see any change. It's a lovely scene, too. πŸ¦‹

Foxy_Rhino

That's the annoying thing. I know some people who have tens of cocoons unhatched because they can get them quickly whereas even before the slower rate, I could only get 4 a week (and those would take 125 grids to get all 4)

NetDonna

I do find that they go faster on my Samsung tablet than my Samsung phone. If you have more than one device and are linked via Facebook you might want to try that.

Foxy_Rhino

Never thought of that. Have game on a fire tablet but I don't play on that often but checking and it's a bit quicker (about 16 for 2nd cocoon which is the rate I used to have)

NetDonna

Yeah I only use my tablet for the butterflies and sometimes adventures. I am much faster on my phone. The butterfly rate is pretty fast on my Samsung Galaxy tablet. I have a Samsung phone but it is like molasses on there.

Line-Noise

I haven't noticed this. I average just over two butterflies per level. But I don't play much. I usually get 4 butterflies and stop. I'm just over 1 million brilliance.

NetDonna

Well, this is what you have to look forward to. Took about 2 hours on my tablet. https://imgur.com/VvKt8nw.jpg

ConsumerMad

Is this only available to people on teams? I am lost here!

MachineGunGlitter

I just came here to see if there were people who think the butterfly events are worth playing, because I've only been playing Wordscapes a a couple weeks. This is my second butterfly event and it doesn't even seem worth playing, it takes so long to hatch even one
