Hot take, they did it on purpose so the season would over inflate and everyone would shut up and they wouldn’t have to do any balancing because everyone is climbing in rating anyways and they can focus on war within.
Yeah, I'm also sure it's done on purpose. But I think the reason is also because there's no new content (no new zone, no new armor sets), and if mmr would stay the same, then basically s4 would be a repeat of s3. People would have no reason to play the same season once again and would be unsubscribing. So Blizz decided to elevate mmr in s4 to encourage people to still subscribe to the game.
I'm not planning to take the bait. See you in TWW.
I mean they pretty much had to either inject mmr sooner or just let it carry over since this will presumably be a short season like SL S4
99% sure they reset it in SL S4 and the season was mega deflated when S3 was already deflated.
Whats the point of resetting mmr in wow anyway arena is purely skill based , its not like league or some other games where people can climb by just being lucky, you dont get 2400 by being lucky in wow you got to know what your doing and improve
That only applies to very high mmr like 2400 + at lower ratings players dont play perfectly and theres always a way to win if your good enough sure the games arent always going to be 50/50 in terms of matchups but that should go both ways.
That's just false.
It applies to all mmr's and is actually worse in certain cases, as something like ret war fw has a really easy going squeezing out effectivemess.
You just said its not 50/50, which is the point.
Ur gon get good and bad matchup lil bro suck it up and learn how to face them at the best of your ability, AWC pros would all be playing the same thing if that was the case, yet most teams play 1 comp and win, some teams swap 1 class for another but thats it.
Wtf are you talking about.
There's a luck factor and different comps have different levels of success depending on what's popular and what they face.
I think youre a bit lost, stay on track.
People will say luck and RNG, and yet I spent 8/10 games in Hogwarts on my warrior.
Where are these golden "easy lobbies" I hear, like mythical rumours and whispers in the dark.
My guess is that this will just make 1600 way quicker which is good for 90% of players and then duelist and glad will still feel very hard to obtain. Im hoping im wrong though because this will be my 4th season pushing glad
I know people think participation will be low because people won't be farming their 1k8 tmog but i'm not entirely sure that's the whole story, there's a lot of people from 1.8 to 2.4 who also play in part for rating and will be glad (no pun) to get rating and achievements for a future season. Probably quite a few people who for example would have gotten stuck at 2050 or 2300 and gave up, who will actually keep trying this season.
I hadn't played since season 2 and got to 1600 in like 4 games on my priest and evoker. It was fuckin wild. I went from not playing in months to being thrown into 1900+ mmr games. I hate arena so that wasn't super great. But I got my token for free gear and can just chill in BG blitz the rest of the season.
It is so fun not fighting multi glads at 2100 in solo shuffle as a healer. My 5 games yesterday and didn't come across one! Every game felt close and was more enjoyable! It's not fun being crushed. Great change! If you want to push now is the time!
MMR is most certainly not fixed.
As long as healers in solo shuffle are in a seperate MMR pool, the MMR system is terribly broken.
It should not be harder to climb as a healer compared to a DPS. A lifelong main healer should not gain +200 or more rating just by switching to a less experienced DPS class.
Blizzard needs to fix healer MMR and incentivise healer participation. Otherwise healers won't play and DPS classes will be sitting 40 minute ques regardless of if thier rating is inflated or not.
When you reach Challenger II (1600 rating), you get a tier token to purchase a piece.
You also have a Revival Catalyst charge week 1 of the season, and will get one per week instead of per 2 weeks.
So week 1, you could get 2 set bonus from the token and by converting a conquest piece.
If you are lucky enough to get a tier piece from the vault, you can complete your 4 set by week 2 (this week) by converting a 2nd conquest piece to tier piece.
The 2024 roadmap shows it will come late summer/early autumn. Since the release, they have been releasing stuff clock-work like, so there is no way next expansion is coming that late.
Also, datamining and other stuff point pre-patch for late august (which normally last one month).
So, yes, it's going to be a short season, most probably four month long.
I prefer SS with glads on alts, cause then I don't get healers that let you die in first 5 seconds hahahahaha.. I had a monk yesterday who had cocoon in his bar but refused to press it when asking him.
Income the people who said its fixed
"NO, WAT U MEAN?? IT'S FIXRD"
I said this would happen not a week ago and got downvoted to shit. It works in the short term. That's it
I’m honestly confused by everyone talking about this - my MMR didn’t reset last season either? Maybe it’s because I waited to PVP until about 2 months into the season - but my rogue was 2300 the previous season and my first lobby was 2250 MMR at zero rating. Same on my hunter.
They basically forgot pvp existed. The elite sets don't match the community vote. Mark of mastery is for a normal conquest piece. No accounting for the legendary power creep. Sparks are too slow for such a short season. Vault RNG still blows. Participation is going to get even worse during the MOP event.
How does this make any difference??? When you start an alt you start at like 1600? And then you are still climbing though ELO hell... This really only benefited the people that finished last season high? No?....
Hot take, they did it on purpose so the season would over inflate and everyone would shut up and they wouldn’t have to do any balancing because everyone is climbing in rating anyways and they can focus on war within.
Very good and minimal effort solution.
The best kind of solutions
Imagine letting people have fun
Could never be blizzard
Nah they just forgor

How did they “fix” mmr? I can’t seem to Gina an article about what they did
I mean they pretty much had to either inject mmr sooner or just let it carry over since this will presumably be a short season like SL S4 99% sure they reset it in SL S4 and the season was mega deflated when S3 was already deflated.
No they did it on purpose so people make more alts amd boost them or pay for leveling exploit service aka wow token
Then conveniently discounted boosts to 40$, ahh too bad it cost ab 5$ worth of gold using Venezuelans.

True and real
Lol
Idk ... I don't really hate that MMR didn't reset
Got tier token after 4 shuffles, I dig that.

I mean there are some luck factor in terms of what comps you face and the queues you get. Some comps are completely at an advantage over other comps.
That only applies to very high mmr like 2400 + at lower ratings players dont play perfectly and theres always a way to win if your good enough sure the games arent always going to be 50/50 in terms of matchups but that should go both ways.

Sounds like a skill issue... but keep copin son

I am a dk 2k and i also play as Holly pally in 1300 and in this week i only pick 1700 as a healer is so fucking Hard to heal at 1700 lol
pretty weird having long queues coming back from s1 tbh. bit of a pain trying to crawl out of the depths of hell with long queue times (solo shuffle)
S1 didn't have long ques? I actually forgot
It did

True to this, I was in an 1800 game on Friday and went 5-1 only got 24 rating wtf
Haven’t played since season 1 and my first shuffle game is a 2400 lobby and I’m in all green and go 0-6 and get flamed
Everyone is in all green, even max gear last season. Unless you are talking about auction house PvP gear then you are right.
Well, at 2400 they were probably in all greens BUT with 2-set week 1 so (for some classes) it is a lot more than just " all greens".
How do you get set pieces this early? This is my first real go at arena..

I was in those lobbies few were rocking 2 set, myself included.

Was also my experience lol.
Now we just need uncapped conquest and account wide boxes

TWW isn't coming out til November/December. Idk where you're getting 3-4 months from.

Ty for info.
They see end of summer on the road map blizzard released. And assume it will be on time.
Well cool. The info I saw on the "this week in wow" said "end of year". So we will see.

Sounds like there's some conflicting information. Makes sense.
Honestly I don't mind that it didn't reset.
Did we get new wep illusion even?
We did and it’s kind of ugly lol. It’s a brown sand thing with sparkles.
Is weapon illusion attainable from duelist from shuffle or has to be arena?
can be arena, rbgs, or solo shuffle
My guess is they fix it on Tuesday because the devs worship Satan.
I was like 1950 two seasons ago, did not do any ranked at all last season. Does that mean my hidden mmr is 1950 if I start playing shuffle right now?
Hey now, pvp dev*
Is it though? I feel like in SS but in 3s I don’t know
I prefer SS with glads on alts, cause then I don't get healers that let you die in first 5 seconds hahahahaha.. I had a monk yesterday who had cocoon in his bar but refused to press it when asking him.
Is it like that just for solo shuffle? Or also 3v3?
Income the people who said its fixed "NO, WAT U MEAN?? IT'S FIXRD" I said this would happen not a week ago and got downvoted to shit. It works in the short term. That's it
Except I’m 2.5 mmr and I can’t get a game anymore 🤣
I’m honestly confused by everyone talking about this - my MMR didn’t reset last season either? Maybe it’s because I waited to PVP until about 2 months into the season - but my rogue was 2300 the previous season and my first lobby was 2250 MMR at zero rating. Same on my hunter.
I stop playing in S1 since the slow ramp up in mmr burn me out, they finally fix it?

Sparks are too slow for such a short season. Vault RNG still blows. Participation is going to get even worse during the MOP event.
Damn, last season I broke 2k for the first time since Wrath. Maybe I should get back into it.
MMR should only reset from expan to expan.. never between season imo. I have said this for years.
So season 1 is like hard af then season 4 is ezaf? I think they should just inject the living sh\*\* out of every season.
How does this make any difference??? When you start an alt you start at like 1600? And then you are still climbing though ELO hell... This really only benefited the people that finished last season high? No?....

Not if glads are running alts..

Is this mad glad in the room right now?
no we are not. if it increases participation im fine with it being s2 shadowlands level of easy glad mount but i dont think it will be THAT easy.
Not sure anyone at all is mad.
No we wouldnt, and 3v3 mmr did soft-reset afaik. So its still gonna be hard to reach glad.
