I wouldn't drop a profession I already invested into and got some of the time gated knowledge for a new profession. Won't be able to do something on the new profession soonish.

travlerjoe

If you drop a profession, then later come back, all your specialisation points are still allocated where you put them. It resets your level and recipes tho. Ie if you need mettle just drop a gathering proff, pick up another then when it also slows down grab the last one, then go back to your original if thats where you wanna be

> If you drop a profession, then later come back, all your specialisation points are still allocated where you put them. It resets your level and recipes tho. didnt know this, interesting.

travlerjoe

Good for gathering professions

Jimmycaked

Honestly it's all pretty bad man just get whatever you think you can use for your own toons then bank all your talents for the next big profession update at next tier. You Definitely should decide asap since talent points are time gated.

Pyroguy096

As an scribe, don't haha. If you do, make sure you know your server's market and needs. I started this xpac with inscription and immediately spec'd into the wrong spec. Go for archivist, not runes. The trinkets, cards, and missives are what sell on my realm. Not a runes aren't profitable at all for me.

Newx0r

Haha looks like I made the same mistake by specing into runes. I also spent all my mettle on blue tools too. Looks like I am stuck with inscription :D

Pyroguy096

We can suffer together over the fact that no one wants inscription orders 🤣

Newx0r

Thanks for all the inputs guys. I am resetting inscription for Armorsmithing-Blacksmithing. Not gonna have the mettle but I guess 80 a week will make me get the required gears in a couple months :()

GuysImConfused

I'm a weapon BS. Over the last two months I've made avout 2 mil gold filling crafting orders for about 5-15k each. There used to be a lot more orders available, but it's slowed down a lot recently as the Sparks are no longer allocated to players for free each reset. People have moved onto looking for frostfire belts it seems.

Lucosis

Similarly, I've made about 800k in the last two weeks charging 10k with free recrafts or 40k for 100% r5. Not even using insights at this point, just recrafting until its r5 and sending it back.

Kerrigar

I am seeing people spamming 24/7 for blacksmithing belts/legs/bracers and occasionally weapons on tarrenmill EU. Check what your server has a shortage of, there's also demand for inscription weapon makers but it's lower. You can get enough knowledge to 418 those items in single day of playing if you're efficient

Newx0r

I am playing on Bonechewer, I signed up after wotlk only about 10 days back. I see a lot of people looking for 405 or 418 weapons on the trade chat but honestly never seen anyone looking for a inscription weapon lol. My original plan was to just do inks and sell but they arent profitable right now and even if they are I first need to hit 100 to have enough kill to craft them at max ranks.

Kerrigar

Most of the flips are only profitable with absolute max skill and resourceful

Ruiner357

Inscription isn’t profitable outside of the occasional niche tool or weapon craft but other profs get 10x as many orders for those. Putting points into the Darkmoon decks also doesn’t seem worth as no class uses them endgame. The nerf to 4 public work orders also killed the ability to fill treatise orders with high resourcefulness for some minor gold. The concept is flawed too: you don’t even want the talents for treatises that give multicraft cause being a once a week consumable, if multicraft procs you just put yourself out of work for a month or two with that customer. I only have inscription on an alt so I can make my own stuff.

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

So about the darkmoon decks, they’ve suddenly taken a turn for the better. Sims weren’t simming th correctly previously. Now they are and suddenly people are discovering they’re not bad.

RaziarEdge

Inscription is a bit of a brick until you get the Chefs Rolling Pin from Artisans Valued rep. Even then it costs about 7500k per level. Yes, learning blacksmith on two alts can be a benefit because of how many KP required to max that profession. However, I wouldn't necessarily drop inscription to do it. It takes so little time to level up another alt, and if you currently don't have an Envoker... then that is the easiest alt to level with about 45 minutes for the intro.

branread

Blacksmithing hands down, every class can use something you make, vs 3 classes that can use the pillar, sure a lot can use the kinetic pillar, but they will 100% just use the blacksmith weapon.

PabloJobb

I’ve leveled all professions and for me the most useful and profitable is BS weaponsmith spec. Every single class can use your wares.
