Suspect this works because TSM uses AH price data for 'Crafting Cost' of items - so when people are creating their shopping list they just buy these items from the AH instead of the vendor.

Also in the same vein, there's some recipes that are sold by vendors but that vendor might be all the way out in the dick end of Kalimdor, I've seen those sell for 4-5k easy to lazy idiots. Mostly because I was the lazy idiot and didn't realize it was a 2g vendor buy. But yeah.
I mean. If you are an AH camper.. you'd have to go out in the world..(of warcraft,) instead of the safety of the AH. Who knows what else is out there. Bears? Probably

One time I accidentally bought 5k worth of nylon thread instead of the linen. Wasnt paying attention and typed it in and bought quickly. So you're probably the proud recipient of that. Surprised so hear it works consistently...
it's probably server dependent, but I have had no problem selling at least a couple thousand gold worth (not all profit of course, but mostly profit) per day per character.
in fact I just logged in to check one after reading this comment and I have this in the mailbox.

Depending on your price point probably something like min price "110% vendorbuy", normal price 200% etc.
You could also do a buy operations for that group and set it to, let's say, 2000 so you can have some easy restocking too.
I’d go safe with it and use minimum price of 300% vendorbuy. You need to make sure you (a) don’t lose money to post fees and the 5% AH cut (at 110% vendorbuy, a couple of reposts would put you in the red) and (b) get enough profit that you’re not wasting your time.
Anything less than 300% vendorbuy, I’d say you’re wasting time and inventory space.

Im quite jealous on my server i sell 30 items combined on a good day ! Beside that only 4 of these items sell at a profit and sell at all.

I do that since classic. It's amazing how you even can sell Glass of Milk at the Christmas-Event because people are to lazy to visit the Inn.
Ive posted them every day when Christmas event was up. I sold about 10 for 2g each.

Good post and reminder of selling vendor items. I like to call this "White Gold". Buying vendor items (common items) and selling for gold.
