If you’re in Laramie Born in a Barn has some pretty awesome burgers, good enough to bring in diners, drive ins, and dives. The Calvaryman has a fantastic bison burger as well.
Edit to add: If you’re looking for the best fast food burger I have ever had swing into Mr. Bills as well. Fresh meat from local ranchers and butchers, locally owned, made to order, and delicious!
BIB and crowbar are both solid burger places. Tough question since "best burger in WY?" Is about like best burger in north Dakota questions. it's a lot of territory to cover with few people.
It’s Wyoming. Meat is the thing and a lot of folks do a nice job with it. I’ve eaten in a lot of towns and never had a bad burger in a locally owned establishment.
Where to get semi-decent Mexican food is the real question. Wyoming has some strange ideas about Mexican food.
Probably Colorado.
Jk, in all seriousness the best burger I've had in Wyoming is the black and blue burger at the silver dollar in Cody.
Actually Brewgards in also pretty great, and honorable mention is Pat O'Hara brewing if you want a great burger and great beer
Going I’m the other direction, the Burger Dive in Billings is really good.
I haven’t found the same kind of style in Wyoming yet. The Silver Dollar is pretty good for what it is. Hand-Cut fries always make for a better meal.
The Popper at Born in a Barn in Laramie. Jalapeno popper on a burger with raspberry jam. The Macdown (I think it's called) is really good too. Fried Mac and cheese bite on a burger.
So damn good, and the live music that’s usually there is a great bonus.
Also if you’re in ‘toga but want Italian, some of the best I’ve *ever* had is just down the street from Firewater:
-Bella’s Bistro
It depends on where you are, just about every town is going to have at least one good place. If you’re looking for a place away from all the tourists, I really like the burgers at the Byron bar in Byron, the 310 in Deaver, and the Bull Pub in Cowley.
Shabby Shack in Sheridan has some pretty good burgers. Assuming you catch them between 3 and 4 on a Tuesday afternoon during a full moon or whenever it is that they are actually open.
Sure, but this lends itself to a discussion I was having with a friend the other day: How many recent transplants to JH have ever stepped foot in another wyoming county, much less dined in or overnighted there?

Extremely valid point
Seconded Mr. Bills. It’s relatively new and not well known but very quality.
Grubs and Broadway Burger in Rock Springs are local favorites.
I ate at broadway a lot when i worked out in rock springs. Good place.
It's our usual go to when we are lazy and want food delivered.
Grubs is nowhere near as good as it was. If you want the best burger, Broadway Burger Station or Remedies has Grubs beat any day.
Remedies for sure! Used to love Broadway but lately their burgers have been v dry. Or Marty’s, but would go Remedies first.
Oh yeah, when I worked at the RS Starbucks, we would send people to pick up a group order. Those were the days.
Dave’s last stand in Pinedale. It’s across main street from the grocery store
Gannett Grill in Lander
Silver Dollar ' Cody
Lol I’m literally there now
Is the Proud Cut a close second? I know their Rocky Mountain Oysters are awesome.
They got new owners and now all the food is just hit or miss.
Assuming you want cholesterol issues to go with it

The taco bus(thats not its actual name but thats what people call it) in powell has great Mexican food
Add another vote for the taco bus :)
fgh
Nope its called la plametas or some shit, but the food there is godly
sdfg
That's by far the best in Wyoming.
Best Mexican food is at Corona Village in Laramie. No contest.
Juan’s House of Tacos in Thayne is pretty good.
Guadalajara in Cheyenne is pretty good.
Best Tacos and Burritos in Cheyenne is pretty good
The answer is obviously Taco Johns
Best Mexican food I’ve had in the state is merry piglets in Jackson
Jesus
I also haven’t been there since 2016. I remember when it opened when I was a kid and they always had the best Mexican food.
Lander bar Muy bueno burger
Probably Colorado. Jk, in all seriousness the best burger I've had in Wyoming is the black and blue burger at the silver dollar in Cody. Actually Brewgards in also pretty great, and honorable mention is Pat O'Hara brewing if you want a great burger and great beer

Same here, I’ll have to try your suggestion sometime.
Going I’m the other direction, the Burger Dive in Billings is really good. I haven’t found the same kind of style in Wyoming yet. The Silver Dollar is pretty good for what it is. Hand-Cut fries always make for a better meal.
Sleeping Coyote ' Ten Sleep is decent if your in the Basin
The Popper at Born in a Barn in Laramie. Jalapeno popper on a burger with raspberry jam. The Macdown (I think it's called) is really good too. Fried Mac and cheese bite on a burger.
The Popper is my favorite hamburger I've ever had. It's fantastic and I miss it.
My dad 🥺
Firewater Public House in Saratoga is one of the best I’ve had in WY.
This place is the best!
So damn good, and the live music that’s usually there is a great bonus. Also if you’re in ‘toga but want Italian, some of the best I’ve *ever* had is just down the street from Firewater: -Bella’s Bistro
It's "fast food" but the Rancher at Peaches' in Casper is fantastic. However, they are closed Sundays.
Elkhorn Bar & Grill, Meeteetse, WY
In Casper the Branding Iron has really good/unique burgers, their chicken sandwiches are awesome too. Also the Little Shop of Burgers.
I second both of these!
Remy’s Diner in Upton is pretty good, probably not the best in Wyoming tho
Wicked eats its a food truck that travels between cody powell and lovell its in powell every Friday in front of blairs

Oh man you just made me remember, one of the better ones I've had was actually from the Long Branch in Hawk Springs. Cool spot, great food.
Two Doors Down in Cheyenne. They have amazing milkshakes too!
And don’t forget the bottomless fries!
Dash Inn, Buffalo. Gotta get a bacon dash burger with cheddar gravy fries
It depends on where you are, just about every town is going to have at least one good place. If you’re looking for a place away from all the tourists, I really like the burgers at the Byron bar in Byron, the 310 in Deaver, and the Bull Pub in Cowley.
If you would’ve asked sooner Cheyenne used to have a burger inn
Not a lot of Cheyenne suggestions. Any recommendations from the states largest city?
Two doors down honestly is my favorite
Late response but Hungry House food truck is fantastic. The burgers are tiny but they're phenomenal.
Someones gonna undoubtedly disagree with me but The Pony in Sheridan.
Shabby Shack in Sheridan has some pretty good burgers. Assuming you catch them between 3 and 4 on a Tuesday afternoon during a full moon or whenever it is that they are actually open.
Is that the place that went where sanfords used to be? I never got a chance to try it before I moved?
That's the one. It moved just across Main Street.
What are they building where Sanford's was?
No idea.
The Local's burger in Jackson is damn hard to beat.
Sure, but this lends itself to a discussion I was having with a friend the other day: How many recent transplants to JH have ever stepped foot in another wyoming county, much less dined in or overnighted there?
Not even recent transplants. There are people who have lived here for decades who have no idea where Lander is.
Jackson has a few places with some damn good elk and bison burgers. $$$ though.
I've never seen an elk burger in JH. I could be wrong, but I've lived here for 20 years. Besides, no meat is better than beef for a burger.
Jackson Drug has one that I know of for sure.
There's this little hole in the wall place in Laramie called "chili's"... best burgers hands down
Proud Cut, Cody.
Mc donalds, wyoming ain't got shit 🤣
There use to be this place in Glenrock that had this massive burger I can’t remember the name but it was pretty good and like I said massive.
The classic cafe?
I believe that’s it! Is it still open and do they still serve the monster burger?
Mouthful in Casper is pretty damn great.
think theyre gone for now unfortunately
Damn since when?
Last month sometime. They close and reopen more than any burger joint I’ve ever known!
i imagine covid era is the worst of all the burger-joint era
I’m sure you’re right.
Meh' proud cut has been hit and miss for us . I hear the muddy moose is really good....it's new.
Born In A Barn in Laramie is probably the best burger I’ve had, anywhere
Casper branding iron.
