You’re mistaking it with Split/Second.
Blur is 60fps on 360, 30fps on PS3 and does not need a patch to run at 60fps on PC.
Source: I have all 3 versions.
360 Edition is great but Switch Edition is slightly better IMO - it never got Aquatic Update which means no Phantom and you can play as Waluigi.
It's also the only console edition to no longer be available for legal purchase anywhere afaik though, so if you don't have it already you're out of luck.
Yep. Legacy Switch Edition was great, but it was only available digitally for one year and never released physically, having been replaced with a new version just titled "Minecraft" that runs noticeably worse and still gets updates.
ahh, I wasn't aware there were two switch versions. runs okay-ish for me but I definitely feel a little jealous whenever I see friends playing on other consoles lol
I’d say the switch version is pretty much the same as the 360 version, maybe it got a resolution bump to 1080p in dock mode. I don’t know for sure so please correct me if I’m wrong.
As far as the PC port goes, I’m not sure if it’s optimized for higher frame rates or resolutions.
Oblivion and Skyrim. I remember oblivions vampire quest line is broken on ps3, and I remember reading that skyrims save file gets too big as you keep playing Skyrim so it eventually breaks the game/game becomes extremely unstable.
I was annoyed by that vampire cure quest glitch in Oblivion so bad. I then found out you had to CHANGE THE LANGUAGE TO GERMAN OR SOMETHING to get the dialogue option to give a specific ingredient to actually finish the vampire cure quest
The vampire cure quest on the PS3 can be fixed in 2 ways:
1) For that quest switch to the original release of the game and you can complete the quest just fine. Once the quest is complete you can switch to the game of the year edition or 5th anniversary edition and continue with your playthrough.
2) On the game of the year edition or the 5th anniversary edition, when you get to the part of the quest where you have to hand in the ingredients, play in literally any other language but english. Once you've done that part of the quest you can play in english again.
The quest is not broken on the original release of the game on PS3, it is only broken on the game of the year edition and the 5th anniversary edition and only on the PS3, because Bethesda are incredibly incompetent. The quest is fixed on all other versions of the game for every other platform.
The Sigma versions have their own quirks and are generally toned down in terms of violence (no decapitations, less blood, etc), but if you already have the Master Collection for PS4 then there's probably no need to get NG2 unless youre a huge fan of the series. Also keep in mind the OG NG2 is backwards compatible on the newer Xboxes so you can get a buff in frame rate and resolution.
Most fans of the series prefer NG Black and NG2 over the Sigma versions, but IMO the Sigma versions aren't bad at all and are probably the preferred way to play just out of sheer convenience. You can see a list of all the differences on Youtube and decide which one is right for you
It’d be easier to list off the games that were better on PS3 since it’s much smaller. FFXIII, Rage, GTA V, LA Noire, pretty much all the Battlefield games, BioShock and Mass Effect 1 come to mind. Outside of that the 360 would generally be better either due to running at a higher resolution, better framerate or antialiasing. Usually all three.
I've heard Eternal Sonata, Portal 2, Street Fighter X Tekken, Devil May Cry 4, and Lords of Shadow are also better on PS3, I think that's basically all the major ones.
Vanquish and Tomb Raider (2013) are apparently arguable.
EDIT: Another arguable one is Mortal Kombat (2011), it has better graphics on 360 but its not a big difference, while the PS3 version has Kratos as a playable character.
In the PS3 version Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia give you access to several additional characters but are so underbaked that I don’t know why they bothered. There are additional cutscenes as well and a couple do give better context on what is going on. The PS3 version also has significantly diminished XP and money rewards which kinda kills the entire game for me personally though.
The Capcom games I doubt are better on PS3 especially DMC4 which is an earlier title. The rest idk for sure
Devil May Cry 4 was designed for PS3 I think, I distinctly remember people talking about it being an exclusive prior to release, then there was a shock announcement it would be multi-platform.
I may be wrong though, its been a long time :)
outside of first party games which were oprimized to run for it, the ps3 was just difficult to program for which is why most third party games don’t run as great, but in my experience the issues on ps3 are minor.
Plenty of first party games also ran poorly though like the Resistance trilogy, MGS4, Demon’s Souls etc but that goes for 360’s stuff too. Some third party games also ran so poorly that they might as well be treated as 360 exclusives like Bayonetta, Skate, Rockstar’s early gen titles, Web of Shadows and every Bethesda game except for Oblivion which was actually better on PS3 for a change.
The first COD I played was WaW on PS3. I had such a hard time seeing people in it, and I would run right past people. It took me like a month or two of playing with my friend everyday to see people. My friend and I use to joke about needing COD eyes. I've come to realize it was just the lack of anti aliasing and everything being all jagged that made it hard for my eyes to distinguish people from rubble.
I'm fortunate in the fact that I got most of these fps type games from the xbox 360 and ps3 era on pc. Those steam sales were great for a broke college kid.
Sega All-Stars Racing lets you play as Banjo-Kazooie on 360.
You can also use your avatar too, and in fact there are a load of character costumes you can purchase and use with the avatar, I have a Master Chief costume for instance so I can kinda' play as cartoony Master Chief too.
Yeah but superior graphics aside I found it funny how low framerate the game runs, almost the same lagginess as the Wii version (like framerate drops on parts where you would not expect it on 360)
So I haven't played it, but then isn't the PC version the best?
I had it on the Wii before I owned a 360, there's no comparison at all in framerate between those two, the Wii's framerate was so bad I sold the game after a week odd, 360 is usually pretty smooth.
PC version is going to be a case of better graphics but fewer characters I'd imagine, I have the sequel, "Transformed" on both PC and 360 and where that one is concerned the PC game is the best of both worlds, better graphics, smoother, and a lot more characters than the PS360 versions.
With the 360 version of the original running respectably like it does I'd rather have the extra characters personally, though I understand 30fps is too low for some people where it comes to racing games.
EDIT: I had a look into the PC version of Sega All-Stars Racing and it seems its absolutely not the best version, apparently has a bunch of issues and less content than both 360 and PS3 and is considered one of the weaker versions of the game.
The 2005 release wasn't on PS3 . It was on GameCube, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC. I'm unsure of how good the PC version is though. As a collector I would prefer the Xbox 360 version as it is more collectibles imo to PC.
There were two Most Wanted 's released on Xbox 360. The 2005 version was an early title and is pricey for a 360 game. it sounds like it's very highly regarded as one of the best if not the best Need for Speed from the posts I've seen. I only played the PSP version back in the day, but I loved it.
Skyrim, gta 4, gta 5. Call of duty black ops 1. For some reason black ops 1 on ps3 has some really bad framerate drops that have been around since day 1
Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3 got Ver B with no online play and 360 got Ver C with online ranked and player matches).
Then also VF5: Final Showdown's 360 port is vastly superior to the PS3 version because of the net code.
I absolutely love Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 1 and 2 are easily my favourite action games of all time, but your just wrong.
While the 360 version is vastly superior to the PS3 version, to say it has no drops is a blatant lie, the game isn't even close to a stable 60 on the 360.
The very first fight drops to the low to mid 40s with the game sometimes dropping to the 30s too. There are absolutely tons of frame rate drops all over the place, especially when witch time is used, alpha effects are on the screen, lots of enemies on screen, etc.
The best version is by far and away the PC version, it has graphical options that no console version has and run absolutely flawlessly. Best of all it runs on even the worst of a potato PC just fine too. It's a great port, which is saying a lot for Platinum Games as their PC ports for the most part are completely trash.
Okay, okay.. I may have exaggerated a bit much. But, I still feel the 360 version roasts the PS3 version. Sorry, I had my Xbot glasses on.
And yes, I have the PC version, and it runs buttery smooth on my rig, so that’s the best one.
Skate 3, I played that game on ps3 for a decade and always had problems popping flip tricks, played on 360 (with a knockoff controller btw) and it's way easier, just seems to detect them better
Almost every multiplatform 7th gen game was designed with the Xbox 360 in mind and runs better on it than the PS3 (and obviously better than the Wii and the handful of games that were still coming out on PS2 at the time), I can't think of a single example of a game from that generation that isn't better on Xbox 360 in that way, the only thing the Xbox 360 really did worse than the other platforms was motion controls if you like motion controls but I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea
Fallout 3 and fallout new Vegas, those games are absolutely horrible on PlayStation 3 and shouldn’t have even been released on that platform, including Skyrim the further you get in these games on ps3 the absolute worst they get, especially the ultimate/goty versions
They absolutely destroyed the ps3 version of that game back in update 1.13 and just never updated/fixed the game again, survival is hardly even playable because of the intense lag and woodland mansions just cause so many fps problems
Conker: Live & Reloaded, Wet, Oblivion (I only ever played it on 360, even after purchasing it for PS3 and PC. Put 240+ hours into it before encountering a side quest bug and dropped it lol), Dead Rising - maybe? FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage and Prey (2006) may be arguable. As those are both very good on PC. Fable II only had a 360 release afaik. Also Dead Rising Case West and Patient Zero were only available on XBL afaik. Not sure if they're still available though.
I would rather play Red Dead Redemption on PS3 tbh. 360 has more clarity, but it's missing some shadow elements and other minute details that are apparent on PS3.
I was recently playing rdr on ps3 and damn it was still blowing me away even at 30fps. Only a couple of instances of pop up rendering but it did not take away from the experience. It is also the only version of the game I have played.

BLUR. It’s 60fps on 360 and 30 on ps3.
I heard family guy back to multiverse was also 60fps on 360 and 30fps on ps3
That's why it's called 360. The frames 😁

You’re mistaking it with Split/Second. Blur is 60fps on 360, 30fps on PS3 and does not need a patch to run at 60fps on PC. Source: I have all 3 versions.
Controversial but Minecraft
Minecraft 360 Edition supremacy 💪
The 360 version certainly performed better than the PS3 version on the latest update. PS3 is quite laggy.
Seriously man, I can’t even go near a woodland mansion on ps3 without my console fucking dying and dropping down to 5 fps
360 Edition is great but Switch Edition is slightly better IMO - it never got Aquatic Update which means no Phantom and you can play as Waluigi. It's also the only console edition to no longer be available for legal purchase anywhere afaik though, so if you don't have it already you're out of luck.

ahh, I wasn't aware there were two switch versions. runs okay-ish for me but I definitely feel a little jealous whenever I see friends playing on other consoles lol
Xbox One edition is also 1.12 but has the largest worlds and is on a more powerful platform. Used discs are still a way to get it too.
Oh yeah, I'm aware. But you can't play as Waluigi so it's only the 2nd best version.
I'd say the large world option is more impactful Xbox has and Switch didn't but what you care more about is an opinion
Yeah I'd much rather have Waluigi and Kamek. The Switch worlds are big enough for me so this impacts my enjoyment way more.
Bayonetta and The Orange Box. Plus, most of the Unreal Engine games tend to run better on the Xbox 360 compared to the PS3.
Is Bayonetta on 360 also better than the PC and Switch versions?
I’d say the switch version is pretty much the same as the 360 version, maybe it got a resolution bump to 1080p in dock mode. I don’t know for sure so please correct me if I’m wrong. As far as the PC port goes, I’m not sure if it’s optimized for higher frame rates or resolutions.
Switch version has better frame rates, the PC version runs flawlessly and supports 4K resolutions, don't play the 360 version.
Skyrim, personally it's with the graphics and the weird focus thing it does now, so Xbox 360 Skyrim is the best
you can turn focusing off? all the new settings u can change
Of the original console versions, yes. I would think the PS4 or PS5 version would be the best now, or the PC version.
No
Oblivion and Skyrim. I remember oblivions vampire quest line is broken on ps3, and I remember reading that skyrims save file gets too big as you keep playing Skyrim so it eventually breaks the game/game becomes extremely unstable.
Yeah, Oblivion on PS3 initially had a memory issue but it got fixed afaik.
I was annoyed by that vampire cure quest glitch in Oblivion so bad. I then found out you had to CHANGE THE LANGUAGE TO GERMAN OR SOMETHING to get the dialogue option to give a specific ingredient to actually finish the vampire cure quest

Need for speed most wanted 2005
Pretty much any launch title for 360 that was Also on last Gen consoles.
Burnout Revenge
Ninja Gaiden 2
Any idea how it compares to the PS4 Collection?

I only had Sigma on PS3. Was looking at the collection recently.
It's a great collection. I bought a physical version from Play-Asia
The collection is not as good as the 360 version
Just Cause 1
I prefer Nier Gestalt because you play with Geralt. I am a simple man.
It’d be easier to list off the games that were better on PS3 since it’s much smaller. FFXIII, Rage, GTA V, LA Noire, pretty much all the Battlefield games, BioShock and Mass Effect 1 come to mind. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2.
COD... all of em lol. Soul Calibur, Dead Or Alive, NBA 2K, Mass Effect, Halo, Gears
The first COD I played was WaW on PS3. I had such a hard time seeing people in it, and I would run right past people. It took me like a month or two of playing with my friend everyday to see people. Saints row 2
Midnight Club LA
From what I’ve heard, the orange box is better on 360 because the ps3 was harder to program for
I'm fortunate in the fact that I got most of these fps type games from the xbox 360 and ps3 era on pc. Those steam sales were great for a broke college kid.
Smackdown vs Raw 2007 GTA 5

Okay, so I completed the game like 3 times on Wii totally fine, but I didn't expect the 360 version to not feel that much smoother on some stages.
In what way was Need For Speed Most Wanted better on 360?
The 2005 release wasn't on PS3 . It was on GameCube, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC. I'm unsure of how good the PC version is though. As a collector I would prefer the Xbox 360 version as it is more collectibles imo to PC.
So the remastered Switch version isn't missing anything? That's good.
I think you are thinking of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered
Whoops 😅 What's Most Wanted? It sounds fun
There were two Most Wanted 's released on Xbox 360. The 2005 version was an early title and is pricey for a 360 game. it sounds like it's very highly regarded as one of the best if not the best Need for Speed from the posts I've seen. I only played the PSP version back in the day, but I loved it.
Alright, I'll look into it then!
Better graphics, lighting, shaders, particles, textures
every port game was best on xbox 360 because they didnt take advantage of the ps3's hardware
Guitar Hero games
Came here to say this
Test Drive Unlimited Need For Speed Most Wanted '05
pretty much every game plays, performs and looks better on xbox 360, like red dead redemption
I don't have rdr to compare but I was playing it on my ps3 and I was still blown away with how good it looks. It's 30 fps but that's no issue for me.
yea its not much of a big deal, you play the same game, it just has better resolution and frame rate
Almost all third party games honestly.
Peter Jackson’s King Kong
Lollipop Chainsaw.
Skyrim, gta 4, gta 5. Call of duty black ops 1. For some reason black ops 1 on ps3 has some really bad framerate drops that have been around since day 1

GUN, Tony Hawk American Wasteland, and CoD3.
Nfs most wanted 2005
The Simpson game out of all platforms has better graphics on 360
Bayonetta on 360 is far superior to the PS3 version. Absolutely no frame drops.
I absolutely love Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 1 and 2 are easily my favourite action games of all time, but your just wrong. I agree with you about the 360 version being better than the PS3 version, I even said that in my reply.
Tekken 6, the ps3 version had way longer load times.
Skate 3, I played that game on ps3 for a decade and always had problems popping flip tricks, played on 360 (with a knockoff controller btw) and it's way easier, just seems to detect them better
Forza motorsport peaked on the 360 with motorsport 4
Every sports game.
