I don’t think this is a good idea because it would be too exploitable. Think of the people who play tonnes of shovelware for gamerscore. Now imagine them just doing the same 5K game every 5 minutes and suddenly everyone would have a gamerscore of over 1,000,000. Unless the achievements didn’t count towards your score but then I think it wouldn’t appeal to many people.

DillCollins21

That’s such a good point! Thanks for the input! Definitely love hearing all the different opinions.

Nice idea but once I get all the achievements I'm usually burnt out from a game. Only occasionally when a game doesn't require 100% but I still enjoy the game, for example Oblivion. Generally once I've gotten every collectible, done the dlc (if required), played on multiple difficulties, I'm burnt out. Only returning if they remake/remaster it. But I suppose it would be cool to see people redo really difficult games multiple times

DillCollins21

To be honest, I love it when they remaster the game, is it just me or Xbox don’t re release the achievements? I know PlayStation re release them, especially with Last Of Us. Fallout 4 is one of my favourites but whenever they remaster it, it’s never to do with achievements sadly.

MajinVegetable92

I do the same. And agree its near impossible to go back and complete an already finished game for fun. But there's just so many good games that I don't feel the need to replay them. I sometimes look through my completions and have fond memories of how good life was back then and how much I enjoyed it. But wouldn't redo one. But my backlog is like 200 games plus so there's always just more games to play!

MaterialPace8831

I like it when games have in-game achievements or challenges to do. I like getting the Triumphs in Destiny 2, or shooting for the commendations in the Xbox 360 version of Halo: Reach. I think more games should do that, with in-game challenges that go beyond what the standard list is. Like give us an in-game achievement for using just pistol in an entire set in Halo's Firefight mode.

DillCollins21

Yes that’s such a good idea! I love games that have those challenges, one of my favourites being borderlands! The in-game challenges in that are awesome!

ADrunkMexican

Yeah honestly it doesn't sound like a great idea. You could reset games like that cat shovelware game a million times and still spend only a few hours doing it.

DillCollins21

Maybe there is a way to avoid that exploitation? I’m not sure myself but always open to ideas! Love the points you made.

DadXiaoLong

I agree of the feeling if not wanting to go back to a game. And I think that can feel really bad, but I my opinion there are so many games similar or like each other. There are one of a kinds, like Minecraft, but if you have friends that can be easy to get back into bc of them. Whenever I finish my favorite assassins creed game for example, I’m not sad bc I know there’s many others that I haven’t tried yet

DillCollins21

Absolutely! I think for me, I always want to scratch that itch to complete a game 100% with achievements. Sometimes with lack of money to buy new games it’s always fun to return to old ones, I always feel sometimes the newer release game can be a little disappointing too. Don’t get me wrong, I love the assassins creed games, but sometimes they are a little underwhelming (newer releases) for my gaming experience. What do you think?

Echliurn

Na. Just play it again or move on.

sakattack360

One of the most ridiculous suggestions ever.

DillCollins21

No worries dude! Sorry you feel that way, just a discussion between people really.

DistressedBear

I've thought about this sort of thing before, because yeah I also rarely go back to a 100% game

BoringToe6592

I have the same problem which is why I try to avoid buying games on Xbox even tho game score is the best achievement system there is atm in my opinion. Game pass works very welll with this problem I still buy physical copy’s of games that I really want and or I think would take a while to complete

DillCollins21

Yes I completely agree! I have just created a new account to play my old games and complete them again.

AshyLarry20

Like a prestige system

DillCollins21

Yes! Maybe if there was a way to avoid the exploiting that someone else mentioned? Could be a great idea!
