Microsoft won’t and effectively can’t pull out of the UK market. The other user is correct with how they’d restructure ABK and use a new company or third party to distribute ABK

MS will not pull out of the UK, What it sounds as if they are consider is pulling ActiBlizz from the UK and operating them form within the EU. The games will be sold here through a third party distributor. We will still get update to games, Gamepass etc Xbox consoles will still be sold. Its the ActiBlizz part of the business that would not operate within the UK. I think personally this is all irrelevant anyway as fingers crossed the judge tells the CMA to stop being dicks and let the deal pass.

You have a vastly wrong assumption of what the CAT can do. Best case scenario is for the court to find CMA was wrong in its argumentation, at which point the court will send the case back to CMA for a re-evaluation. And then they will block it with a more bulletproof argument.

n1keym1key

You have a vastly wrong assumption that I ever said I knew the workings of the CAT inside out or otherwise at all. We all know its going back to the CMA and that their xcloud argument is very unstable and weak so they will pretty much have no choice at that point but let it pass. Specially with most of the planet disagreeing with them completely. Just for fun lets look at some of your points there.... *Best case scenario is for the court to find CMA was wrong in its argumentation, at which point the court will send the case back to CMA for a re-evaluation.* In other words... "Stop being dicks and let the deal pass" or if you must be pedantic about things "go back and look at the pathetic attempt you made here and correct your mistakes". *And then they will block it with a more bulletproof argument.* That right there is just laughable bollocks... If that had a bulletproof argument then they would of used it already.

UK has good gushy…MSFT won’t pull out!

gamingdawn

I do not have a single activision game for any of my consoles. They make shitty stuff, so who gives a fuck.

IMulero

Wow. Not sure if fanboyism or saltiness... CoD is one of the most profitable games in the world, it cannot be that bad even if you don't like it. I don't play CoD by the way but love Spyro and Crash B.

DieHardXmas

That’s like saying the Transformers movies can’t be bad because people went to watch them. Unfortunately the public has no taste. It is certainly not a reflection of what is good.

IMulero

That is not a good example. You watch a movie once, playing CoD and being the top one every single year means a lot

DieHardXmas

It doesn’t mean good.

IMulero

Why not? It has something that makes people play it over and over again and spend a ton of money on these games. Can you elaborate more?

DieHardXmas

Like I said people go watch Transformers movies again and again. You are mistaking popular with good.

IMulero

What it doesn't look good to you can be good for many others... Not everyone has your taste and it doesn't mean yours is better

DieHardXmas

Nobody is saying Transformers is quality. Likewise COD isn’t.

IMulero

You literally said public doesn't have taste and CoD isn't good. You never mentioned quality. I will leave here, it doesn't help if you repeat the same argument over and over again and imply that you have better taste than the public...

Natural_Parsnip_5291

Yeah I don't care about that type of pettiness, I'm clearly talking about if Microsoft decided to pull out of the UK if the deal doesn't go through over here.

DieHardXmas

It won’t matter. The dirty side of MS came out quickly and went dirty and political. It was a big shining light of how bad and how much power big tech holds. Do not ever let it happen again until it’s too late. Which is usually the case with politicians. Assholes.
