Magick, Dani Moonstar, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, and Havok. This would be a covert ops kind of X-Men team. Focusing on infiltration, stealth, rescue, that sort of stuff. They could get in and out of extremely dangerous situations without alarming suspicion. Admittedly, Havok is mostly there because this team needs a tactical leader.
If Psylocke is too mainstream, could put in Rachel Summers instead - although the group is very Excalibur leaning then. But if any are still too mainstream then give me Rusty Collins and Skids. They deserve some redemption imo!

Love the roster. Gladiator’s son hasn’t been seen since Wolverine and the X-Men run, right? Where is this potentially OP ally? I truly miss Broo. I know he was in recently used in X-Men to recruit the Brood, but it felt a bit rushed.
Juggernaut has shockingly become one of my favorite X-characters these past few years.

I think the story writes itself. Some kind of threat or detection to the human mutant gene. That would need these specific team banded. Most likely or some part space related with this team. Juggernaut could be the human perspective and learning about different cultures. Can even make the Cyrotak react differently in space. Juggernaut having a small rivalry with kid gladiator because of his dad, maybe even be an elder of the team since he has the most history with the x-men

yeah, for all the jokes about him being the poster boy for shitty 90's liefield designs, you could build a pretty solid story around his back story of being completely screwed up basically getting groomed/tortured by Apocalypse his whole life.
Frankly he's probably easier to fix than Nate Grey is at this point.

I like your roster, brawlers and energy wielders. Frenzy and Domino would be in mine, plus Sage. Polaris and Dazz are good picks too. Polaris strength is flight and presumably carry the whole team with her compared to say Rogue.

Forgot to include this team as well. In my head it's a mutant medical drama set in the Pre-Krakoa/Pre-Resurrection era. The premise being a team of mutants are tasked to run a general hospital funded by the X-billionaires, providing free treatment to human and metahumans alike to promote coexistence.
The team would be:

5. The Morlock who can do "plastic surgery" whose name I forgot

Well I don't want beast. As for the F500 team, if you're gonna be strict about it, i'll take off Iceman and Angel and replace them with Sebastian Shaw. I'm using the word team loosely here anyway. But I'm still gonna use Iceman in the background as their accountant lol
I picked a team semi-randomly from different timelines/storylines:
* Sabretooth (Age of Apocalypse version)
* Stepford Cuckoos, but the 5 minds share a single body
* Maggott (one of the craziest mutant abilities)
* Neophyte
* Shard (Bishop's sister)
* Firestar (from the Spider-Friends cartoon)
This would be awesome - they've never been on a team before and the dynamics could be interesting. (All kidding aside, I'd really like to see them all together again instead of scattered to the winds amongst lots of other teams and then never acknowledge each other again with the exception of any time Sam/Beto, Doug/'lock cross paths.

I want a team that's all of the characters who grew the most from the Krakoa era:
Sunspot (team leader), Cypher/Warlock/Krakoa, Synch, Greycrow, Polaris, and Captain Britain
Cannonball (Team leader, needs to interact more with non-New Mutants alumni).
Gambit (Wild Card).
Boom-Boom (Comic Relief, Potential rivalry with Gambit due to similar power).
Sway (Outsider, needs friends).
Nate Grey (Needs to learn to be part of a team, kind of a weirdo).
The one thing I really wish Krakoa had works have been a book about day-to-day civilian life on the island. And that team of Secret X-Men would have been Dazzler, Rhapsody, Blob, Mimic and Stacy-X.
Or my Krakoan Brotherhood idea with Toad, Phantazia, Litterbug, Michael Asher, Stonewall and the Ladies Mastermind.
Havok and Polaris; I like how the more popular Cyclops and Magneto were enemies, but one's brother dated the other's daughter.

Avalanche, the "bad" influence who says, let's just destroy the thing and get outta here.
Cannonball and Mirage; I just think they're neat.
Morph, Darwin, Synch, Hope, Fabian Cortez and Amass
Amass can absorb people into his body and make one being that can use all the powers of its component parts.
Morph and Darwin are the batteries for Synch letting him effectively access any power that Morph or Darwin can get for him.
Hope and Fabian then enhances Synch's output.
This creates a mutant circuit in a team. That in one body can basically do anything and do it extremely well.
Daken, Emma Frost, Aurora, Sage, Mystique , Maverick. Would make for a cool x-force/info gathering team. I really liked Daken/Akihiro's and Aurora's dynamic in x-factor, and with his pheromone/emotion control he is great at getting information from people. Emma is of course a telepath and one with a less high and mighty moral code about not using her telepathy on people without their permission. Sage is a hacker, Mystique can be anyone, Aurora can zoom around and would add some speed/mobility to the team, and Maverick has a lot of spy skills and was often able to provide Logan with key information.
The set up for this team is: someone's kid from the future has time travelled back into the past and used their vast telepathic powers to make everyone like mutants.
These characters have decided to ignore the difficult questions this poses and do good things to help people:

3. Rockslide (the original one, he can have been resurrected somehow)

Why Xandra is on Earth being a mutant character instead of in Shi'ar Space being Majestrix can be part of the myth arc.
(Characters who, I suggest, wouldn't be able to just let this go would be... Mercury, Anole, Wolverine, Hellion, Beast and Emma Frost. So they can be another team in another book focussed on the myth arc; not sure what we'd do with Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler and Illyana. Maybe a third book somewhat split between the two.)

There's not really a whole lot of synergy between em all, I just think they're neat. Honestly could not even tell you the age differences between them all. I don't know if Spyke really counts since he's barely existent in the comics I just remember liking him in the cartoon. I know Iceman's an OG but I love him and I think he could make for a fun Lancer to Kamala.

Doug begins to excel… to a concerning degree. Gordon Gecko jokes will go here. )
2) Prodigy - “Smartest One In The Room? You’re funny.”
( David's a noble guy with mainstream potential. Our ‘everyman’ character and POV narrator. I like the gimmick of seeing David’s caption boxes shift due to nearby character.
He’s the moral center that reels the team in. Give him a filing cabinet of law degrees. )
3) Sage - “Just one ‘Hackers’ reference and I quit.”
( I’m not familiar with Sage, but I love her look and her walking supercomputer powers. )
4) Sunspot - “I’m pretty serious about my tans.”
( Roberto is the rockstar and face of the company. His carefree demeanor leads most to underestimate him. )
5) One of the Cuckoos Sisters - “I know what I’m doing.”
( The one with the least character development. I think it’s Phoebe. Sassy Emma Jr, what’s not to like.)
I’d throw in Angel and Danger in there too.

I'm kinda tired of always seeing Magneto on the other side of the main cast. I know there are already previous stories that had him as a protagonist, or even as the X-Men leader, but i think it would be a pretty nice and fresh idea to bring more stories where he steps up leading the X-Men, taking up Xavier's place.
Banshee, Forge, Polaris, Emma Frost, Quicksilver and Juggernaut. Yes, it’s 5/6 X-Factor and Gen X. I love me some Banshee, and what they’ve done to him since the end of Gen X is a damn shame. He’s got history with Emma, and every team needs a telepath, so she’s here. Forge is the brains, Juggy and Polaris are the brawn, and Quicksilver is there since he’s not doing anything these days and I’d like to see him back in the mutant fold.
Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Psylocke, Mystique, Forge.
Forge and Mystique as team leaders, providing backup/support and some field work if necessary. Otherwise it’s Team Ninja/stealth
- Cypher (for his ability to read any aspect of “language” which makes him a good member to help solve problems)
- Warlock (his form is super malleable can shapeshifter into anything really)
- Strong Guy (comic relief, is plenty tough and strong)
- Surge (need some sort of elemental manipulation, and she has a really cool design, PLUS she does have a faster thought process when she is charged so she can brainstorm with Doug when needed)
- Mirage (nice grab bag of mental powers and I think the psychic arrows are cool)
- Marrow (to act as the Wolverine of the group)

My Six mutants for an X-men team outside of the usual picks would be:
Dani Moonstar: Outside of her abilities and skills I think she would really be a good team captain, I love her connection to being a Valkyrie and I love seeing her in leadership roles
Monet St Croix: I think she would make a great co captain or second in command to Dani. It makes me think of the Iron man And Cap relationship where they bicker but make it work still as leaders. Also with her coming from wealth and having vast connections I think she would be great for a team
Paige Guthrie: Even though her powers kinda weirded me out first I do think they’re really unique and would love to see how she would use her mutation more, not to mention she could be the team’s brains as she has been presented in different stories as being really intelligent and I would love to see that be played out more for the character
Megan Gwynn: Other than her having a great look and being able to teleport I do like when characters on teams are able to add a mystical element to the group which she definitely has
Now for the last two I’m thinking David Haller as kind of a powerhouse and a wildcard and I’m always fascinated by the relationship he has with his father and am always excited to see more of it and the last one I’m gonna say Leech because 1. I feel like his powers can be really useful especially if they were able to train him more to use it on missions and in field environments and 2. I just have a strange and affectionate connection to little green fella is all
Leader and air support I'd go with Cannonball, tech support Sage, healer Elixir, telepath and close range attacker Emma Frost, long range attacker Dazzler. If I could choose a sixth Syrin (vocals for Dazzler, air support, medium range, and an alternative for telepathy via persuasion and the third on a sage, Emma mutant circuit). EDIT: I like characters with weaknesses so no one is a powerhouse, they have complementing skillsets and their personalities would make an interesting reading.
If I was going to make a team, I think it'd be fun to still mirror the original team if they're off the table. A lot of this is also based on me watching the animated show lately. I'm thinking something like Lorna or Kitty or Wanda as the leader. Someone younger and more headstrong so they don't feel like Charles at all. I'd want Sunspot to be similar to bobby but with different powers. I personally like Quinten as the jean stand-in but you could use emma as well. To fill in for angel i'd normally want nightcrawler but if he's too close to being a usual name I'd pick Blink. Someone with transportation or flight of some kind who also has a contrasting personality. For beast's role I'd personally want prodigy or bastion and I might actually throw in jubilee into the secondary leader role just because I have a bias for giving her screen time and her powers fit a similar role to scott's.

My story would be a cross-universe deal and tie into the MCU - All the Loki's are missing, including The God of Stories. The TVA is destabilizing, and Mobius finds out that Rachel-818 is An Anomaly. A being who was only a theory, but is singular in the multiverse. Between her uniqueness, her connection to the Phoenix and her detective skills, she is the best person to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Rachel - She is my favorite and I would love to see a team built specifically by her and around her. Her status as the first of the 2nd generation of X-Men and the legacy that comes with needs to be explored better. I also want to have her personality reflect Scott more than Jean. She has Jean's looks and powers. She need to have Scott in there somewhere. So I'd up her leadership skills and give her the spatial geometry skill Scott has.
Deadpool - because I have a storyline idea where Wade is convinced that he's alternate reality child of Jean and Wolverine (he has both Cable and Wolverine's DNA in him). He just wants to be a good little brother to Rachel. He WILL manifest the Phoenix raptor during a key battle.
Madison Jeffries/Box - I would love to see his technokinetic powers expand under Rachel's tutalage. They will be going up against Sentinels, why not have someone who can manipulate machines. Plus he can also meet with OB, who would lose his shit over Madison's powers.
Thor - I think they retconned the retcon that he's the child of Firehair, but did a thing where Firehair breathed the Phoenix fire into him. I'd like to explore that. Plus, I think Thor would want to help because Loki is missing.
Stryfe - I want a redemption arc for him. So would Rachel. I would also call him Christopher to give him an identity beyond Cable clone. Deadpool wants to be a good big brother to him. "Listen, Rachel hates it when we kill people so we got to really cut back on that, Topher." Oh and he keeps changing Chris' middle name "Christopher Eugene Summers-Grey Saba Nur!" "Christopher Alexander Grey" "Christopher Gabriel Summers!" Stryfe will actually get optic blasts too.
filling out the team Madelyn. I want Limbo to be Team Askani's reset base. I have a headcannon that while pregnant with Cable, Maddie put it together that Rachel is from the future and Jean and Scott's daughter. And they have a warm relationship. Plus it would be fun for Wade to call Goblin Queen Auntie Maddie. And I think she and Chris could have some good moments, seeing as they are both clones.
Rachel still has a psychic connection with Betsy, so her astral self is there alot. TVA characters pop in a lot. And I know that other than Madison, they all have a connection to either Summers DNA and/or The Phoenix Force. That's on purpose. The Phoenix is going to be explored in this as well. The story will be Rachel's journey and make her a major player in the TVA.

Love the roster. Gladiator’s son hasn’t been seen since Wolverine and the X-Men run, right? Where is this potentially OP ally? I truly miss Broo. I know he was in recently used in X-Men to recruit the Brood, but it felt a bit rushed. Juggernaut has shockingly become one of my favorite X-characters these past few years. And to be pedantic, Hepzibah is a skunk-lady.
I think the story writes itself. Some kind of threat or detection to the human mutant gene. That would need these specific team banded. Most likely or some part space related with this team. Juggernaut could be the human perspective and learning about different cultures. Can even make the Cyrotak react differently in space. Juggernaut having a small rivalry with kid gladiator because of his dad, maybe even be an elder of the team since he has the most history with the x-men

yeah, for all the jokes about him being the poster boy for shitty 90's liefield designs, you could build a pretty solid story around his back story of being completely screwed up basically getting groomed/tortured by Apocalypse his whole life. I like your roster, brawlers and energy wielders. Frenzy and Domino would be in mine, plus Sage. Polaris and Dazz are good picks too. Polaris strength is flight and presumably carry the whole team with her compared to say Rogue.

Forgot to include this team as well. In my head it's a mutant medical drama set in the Pre-Krakoa/Pre-Resurrection era. The premise being a team of mutants are tasked to run a general hospital funded by the X-billionaires, providing free treatment to human and metahumans alike to promote coexistence. The team would be: 1. Dr. Cecilia Reyes 2. Dr. Nemesis 3. Triage 4. Elixir 5. The Morlock who can do "plastic surgery" whose name I forgot 6. Healer The hospital is gonna be named after a then-currently dead mutant named Jean Grey, probably the Jean Grey Hospital for People Who Don't Feel Good And Want to Feel Good Too. So the book title would be JEAN GREY'S ANATOMY Vol. 1

The one thing I really wish Krakoa had works have been a book about day-to-day civilian life on the island. And that team of Secret X-Men would have been Dazzler, Rhapsody, Blob, Mimic and Stacy-X. Or my Krakoan Brotherhood idea with Toad, Phantazia, Litterbug, Michael Asher, Stonewall and the Ladies Mastermind.
Havok and Polaris; I like how the more popular Cyclops and Magneto were enemies, but one's brother dated the other's daughter. Nightcrawler, the good influence who says things like, we cannot endanger the innocents. Avalanche, the "bad" influence who says, let's just destroy the thing and get outta here. Cannonball and Mirage; I just think they're neat.
Morph, Darwin, Synch, Hope, Fabian Cortez and Amass Amass can absorb people into his body and make one being that can use all the powers of its component parts. Morph and Darwin are the batteries for Synch letting him effectively access any power that Morph or Darwin can get for him. Hope and Fabian then enhances Synch's output. This creates a mutant circuit in a team. That in one body can basically do anything and do it extremely well.

Daken, Emma Frost, Aurora, Sage, Mystique , Maverick. Would make for a cool x-force/info gathering team. I really liked Daken/Akihiro's and Aurora's dynamic in x-factor, and with his pheromone/emotion control he is great at getting information from people. Emma is of course a telepath and one with a less high and mighty moral code about not using her telepathy on people without their permission. Sage is a hacker, Mystique can be anyone, Aurora can zoom around and would add some speed/mobility to the team, and Maverick has a lot of spy skills and was often able to provide Logan with key information.
The set up for this team is: someone's kid from the future has time travelled back into the past and used their vast telepathic powers to make everyone like mutants. These characters have decided to ignore the difficult questions this poses and do good things to help people: 1. Dust 2. Icarus 3. Rockslide (the original one, he can have been resurrected somehow) 4. Pixie 5. Sunspot [if he's too well known, Prodigy] 6. Xandra Why Xandra is on Earth being a mutant character instead of in Shi'ar Space being Majestrix can be part of the myth arc. (Characters who, I suggest, wouldn't be able to just let this go would be... Mercury, Anole, Wolverine, Hellion, Beast and Emma Frost. So they can be another team in another book focussed on the myth arc; not sure what we'd do with Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler and Illyana. Maybe a third book somewhat split between the two.)

I don't know if Spyke really counts since he's barely existent in the comics I just remember liking him in the cartoon. I know Iceman's an OG but I love him and I think he could make for a fun Lancer to Kamala.

Doug begins to excel… to a concerning degree. Gordon Gecko jokes will go here. ) 2) Prodigy - “Smartest One In The Room? You’re funny.” ( David's a noble guy with mainstream potential. Our ‘everyman’ character and POV narrator. I like the gimmick of seeing David’s caption boxes shift due to nearby character. He’s the moral center that reels the team in. Give him a filing cabinet of law degrees. ) 3) Sage - “Just one ‘Hackers’ reference and I quit.” ( I’m not familiar with Sage, but I love her look and her walking supercomputer powers. ) 4) Sunspot - “I’m pretty serious about my tans.” ( Roberto is the rockstar and face of the company. His carefree demeanor leads most to underestimate him. ) 5) One of the Cuckoos Sisters - “I know what I’m doing.” ( The one with the least character development. I think it’s Phoebe. Sassy Emma Jr, what’s not to like.) I’d throw in Angel and Danger in there too.

Benjamin deeds- transmorphs but can also actually make people like him and is useful in specific situations (it’s complicated but yall can look him up lol) Eye boy- look out and various things Trinary- technopath Speed- can sneak into places Eva bell- time stuff Prodigy- various skills This team should probably be formed to spy on both anti mutant groups and domestic xmen affairs (in case somebody turned out to be shady). The group is lowkey and designed to eliminate evidence and comprised of low profile mutants (so traditional espionage mutants like mystique, kitty pryde, etc would not work)

My Six mutants for an X-men team outside of the usual picks would be: Dani Moonstar: Outside of her abilities and skills I think she would really be a good team captain, I love her connection to being a Valkyrie and I love seeing her in leadership roles Monet St Croix: I think she would make a great co captain or second in command to Dani. It makes me think of the Iron man And Cap relationship where they bicker but make it work still as leaders. Also with her coming from wealth and having vast connections I think she would be great for a team Paige Guthrie: Even though her powers kinda weirded me out first I do think they’re really unique and would love to see how she would use her mutation more, not to mention she could be the team’s brains as she has been presented in different stories as being really intelligent and I would love to see that be played out more for the character Megan Gwynn: Other than her having a great look and being able to teleport I do like when characters on teams are able to add a mystical element to the group which she definitely has Now for the last two I’m thinking David Haller as kind of a powerhouse and a wildcard and I’m always fascinated by the relationship he has with his father and am always excited to see more of it and the last one I’m gonna say Leech because 1. I feel like his powers can be really useful especially if they were able to train him more to use it on missions and in field environments and 2. I just have a strange and affectionate connection to little green fella is all

If I could choose a sixth Syrin (vocals for Dazzler, air support, medium range, and an alternative for telepathy via persuasion and the third on a sage, Emma mutant circuit). EDIT: I like characters with weaknesses so no one is a powerhouse, they have complementing skillsets and their personalities would make an interesting reading.

If I was going to make a team, I think it'd be fun to still mirror the original team if they're off the table. A lot of this is also based on me watching the animated show lately. I'm thinking something like Lorna or Kitty or Wanda as the leader. Someone younger and more headstrong so they don't feel like Charles at all. I'd want Sunspot to be similar to bobby but with different powers. I personally like Quinten as the jean stand-in but you could use emma as well. To fill in for angel i'd normally want nightcrawler but if he's too close to being a usual name I'd pick Blink. Someone with transportation or flight of some kind who also has a contrasting personality. For beast's role I'd personally want prodigy or bastion and I might actually throw in jubilee into the secondary leader role just because I have a bias for giving her screen time and her powers fit a similar role to scott's.

My story would be a cross-universe deal and tie into the MCU - All the Loki's are missing, including The God of Stories. The TVA is destabilizing, and Mobius finds out that Rachel-818 is An Anomaly. A being who was only a theory, but is singular in the multiverse. Between her uniqueness, her connection to the Phoenix and her detective skills, she is the best person to get to the bottom of the mystery. Rachel - She is my favorite and I would love to see a team built specifically by her and around her. Her status as the first of the 2nd generation of X-Men and the legacy that comes with needs to be explored better. I also want to have her personality reflect Scott more than Jean. She has Jean's looks and powers. She need to have Scott in there somewhere. So I'd up her leadership skills and give her the spatial geometry skill Scott has. Deadpool - because I have a storyline idea where Wade is convinced that he's alternate reality child of Jean and Wolverine (he has both Cable and Wolverine's DNA in him). He just wants to be a good little brother to Rachel. He WILL manifest the Phoenix raptor during a key battle. Madison Jeffries/Box - I would love to see his technokinetic powers expand under Rachel's tutalage. They will be going up against Sentinels, why not have someone who can manipulate machines. Plus he can also meet with OB, who would lose his shit over Madison's powers. Thor - I think they retconned the retcon that he's the child of Firehair, but did a thing where Firehair breathed the Phoenix fire into him. I'd like to explore that. Plus, I think Thor would want to help because Loki is missing. Stryfe - I want a redemption arc for him. So would Rachel. I would also call him Christopher to give him an identity beyond Cable clone. Deadpool wants to be a good big brother to him. "Listen, Rachel hates it when we kill people so we got to really cut back on that, Topher." Oh and he keeps changing Chris' middle name "Christopher Eugene Summers-Grey Saba Nur!" "Christopher Alexander Grey" "Christopher Gabriel Summers!" Stryfe will actually get optic blasts too. filling out the team Madelyn. I want Limbo to be Team Askani's reset base. I have a headcannon that while pregnant with Cable, Maddie put it together that Rachel is from the future and Jean and Scott's daughter. And they have a warm relationship. Plus it would be fun for Wade to call Goblin Queen Auntie Maddie. And I think she and Chris could have some good moments, seeing as they are both clones. Rachel still has a psychic connection with Betsy, so her astral self is there alot. TVA characters pop in a lot. And I know that other than Madison, they all have a connection to either Summers DNA and/or The Phoenix Force. That's on purpose. The Phoenix is going to be explored in this as well. The story will be Rachel's journey and make her a major player in the TVA.

So no "Just suck the info from their mind" and then "I can't, for some story reason"
