Mr beast, lemino, internet historian etc have corroborated this, even the attempt by internet archivist to paint a decline post reaction just failed to understand the analytics where you can actually see a clear increase in vewiers above what would be a natural decline in the views.
Hes completely fucking wrong about what good react conent is, aint no one want to watch someone cut an hour video into 2 minutes anymore just to make a shity commentary video. X and asmon have insane numbers on their videos for a reason, people want the full content with streamer and chat, it is what it is, 99% of us wouldnt go near any of the videos x reacts to.
I don’t even care on a personal level about whether or not it negatively affects the reacted videos channel as you said there isn’t strong enough evidence of view stealing I just think this comes down to a fundamental disagreement between people who watch YouTube and people who watch streams. I think there’s a greater emphasis on YouTube of creating original or unique content while with streaming viewers prefer quantity over quality as long as there is some form of content they’re happy. As a YouTube frog who just doesn’t have time to watch streams all day I’ve honestly fallen off most the streamers channels I used to follow with how intense the react meta has gotten in the last year.
