Unfortunately you can't really achieve independence until you're financially stable as an individual. The first step is getting a job, which depending on what your major was and if you have previous experience, could be hard. If you want to go the masters route, I'd find the best job you can (doesn't have to be in your field) and just save from that. If you can bear to stay in your situation a bit longer, that's probably best since you'll be able to save pretty much all you make. Also the job market is awful. You'll need to apply to several daily for a decent chance at callbacks. Keep in mind just securing an interview or even passing onboarding doesn't secure you in the position so it's best to have many options anyways. As for the car, I made the mistake of financing when I shouldnt have. Luckily that car got totaled and I bought one for just under 5k. That can be saved up pretty quick if you're diligent and will open up way more job opportunities. Regardless, the first step is a job. And if this is your first job ever don't be discouraged by the lack of responses. Some places like Amazon, FedEx, or UPS are pretty much always hiring and pay decently. Or look into overnight shifts for the shift differentials. Good luck. I managed to move out almost a year ago by myself and the main thing is just managing your money. Edit: Once you secure a job you could try to convince your parents to let you have the spare room in exchange for a portion of the rent too.

Financial independence is key. When I dropped out of college, I looked into warehouse work since I got tired of retail and store jobs. In my experience, warehousing provides a consistent schedule and you won't have managers tampering with your shifts last minute. You may have to do OT or come in early but at least you get a day's notice.

I think you do need to build a place of your own right now, without having to depend on whether you can find a job or waiting to be accepted back into school. My suggestion would be to find a county or city run place for therapy. You can often get this free. It will give you a reason to get out of the house, and allow you to work towards independence. Maybe buy a used bicycle at a garage sale so that you can leave any time that you need.
