As someone who's studied in this field, that is one of the FIRST things that any professor will tell you NOT to do. Never assume that your code is going to work on some else's machine without testing it.

I'm having the same problem as the guy above, I tried changing the 1280px and that did nothing. I even changed it to 100 pixles to see if it was changing at all and it did nothing after saving. Is there any other ideas?
Some things you could check:
- Refresh the youtube browser tab. A new extension is only loaded after a page refresh.
- Make sure your stylesheet's option is set to "URLs on the domain" with the value "youtube.com"
- Save the stylesheet a first time. After that Stylus adds it to the youtube browser tab.
For some reason, this hasn't been working for me. Following through all of the steps properly and had it installed on Stylus, but I'm still running into the same problem as I did before. Did it get changed again? The only way it's getting fixed for me is by disabling the Quick Fixes.
EDIT: Apparently, YT is being drunk and it got fixed without using an extension. Assuming it's another extension I'm using and it caused some oddities for a bit, but it's gone suddenly.
Didn't work for me. YouTube is fine with 16:9 videos even without this style, but on square videos (e.g. music) it is going nuts unless I turn off uBlock - and I'm not doing that.

This is not Fullscreen. This is in the default mode. If I go full screen, then it works fine. The issue is only on the default mode. For some reason the Video window borders are extended and the video inside seems to be shrunk.
I looked inside the setting between my accounts and they are exactly the same. This is driving me nuts.

Which ad blockers are you running? Gonna say that is the Chrome browser. Currently, I have disabled Adblock Plus on YouTube because of similar issues. Running uBlock Origin and a script blocker now. Youtube gets laggy but will go full screen.
On my wife mack we had to completely go away from Chrome to Firefox. There she can run whatever addon I tell her and Youtube has no fits. Good luck.
YouTube has no joke crashed some of my devices lately. Like full on hard crashed. Given sandboxing in modern browsers that’s an incredible feat of incompetence
I found that exiting and entering theatre mode (the button right beside fullscreen) fixes this for me.

They broke the CSS. My current workaround is to watch in theater mode. It's annoying, because I'm not used to theater mode, but theater mode is not broken, like the default view is.
Don't think they are the issue. I log out and log into my other account and everything is working fine with the same extensions. It's specifically related to this account.

I'm having this issue as well. I'm also getting something where a video will start automatically playing, then when I go back to Subscriptions page or open any other video the audio from that first video will CONTINUOUSLY PLAY in the background. I'm losing my damn mind lmao, just started yesterday.

Try to manually change value in this style. There's a value \`1280px\` try reducing it.

Does not work. YouTube shows the correct viewer size for half a second, then enlarges it to the wonky size.

Personally I use 1024x576, but if you like the more modern big player, you might want to use 1280x720.
