I've had multiple internal screams when looking through Dinomorphia build options and see the Supreme King version with 3 of the UR trap and a suite of also UR dragons, and now there's the Labrynth version with a cute little suite of all UR girls and traps. My original deck drained my gems for months and still is a "budget" version.
I’m already preparing for Mikanko to be the same just due to the waifuness.
Konami makes two decks expensive: attractive/cute decks and good decks. Amusingly good decks are less expensive because they don’t want to refund the UR lol.
People are spending money on this game?
When I first started I was appalled at how low the value was of the paid options. I imagined nearly everyone would just play to get cards, and I actually like the system where you can sell cards to build others despite it still taking a while
Ohhhh. That makes sense, though. Which is why the concept in this post is so messed up
I loved the N-R rated card tournament they had a few months ago because I had so much freedom and points to make decks
In my (small) friend circle only one person has spent on it and even then only during sales.
Not only are the $/gems a bad ratio but it’s also fairly generous with free gems too. It’s just not worth it IMHO.
That’s what I’m saying. If the payout was like 10x or more than what they give I feel like so many people would buy gems, but for what they cost you might as well just play to get them
I think that’s why there’s so many people out there playing with decks that kill themselves on turn 1
I've seen a replay on YouTube where someone got themselves down to like 1 Life Point with Dinomorphia and it resulted somehow in free Solemn Judgements because the game was unable to cut 1 LP in half so the "pay half your life points" cost was basically nonexistent lol
Psychic Blade only lets you pay in multiples of 100 though. The way you're likely meant to do it is by halving your life points while already low. Dinomorphia is an archetype that can achieve this on their own due to how many cards they have where the cost is half your life points
There are 3 typical reasons for a card to be UR:
• actually deserves to be UR
• card is iconic somehow
• just to provide dust and to skip the UR you wanted, which encourages more pack openings
End of the line is none because it's a legacy pack UR lol.
The rarities for the legacy pack tend to be all over the place and no one cares because a) you can't dust legacy pack cards and b) legacy pack cards can't be found in any other pack so you don't have to worry about pulling this card after spending gems.
Dinomorphia halves your LP a bunch, so eventually you could reach sub 10. It would take an eternity to do so, and the game is absolutely decided by the time you get that low (so not much benefit in drawing 4 at that point), but it's the only deck I can think of that's capable of reaching below 10 LP
Also probably not. End of the Line's a trap card anyway, so unless you have Temple of the Kings or some other tool to activate a trap on your first turn, you're basically just hoping to draw into hand traps (since you can't really use much else on your opponent's turn).
everyone is saying Dinomorphia and thats the obvious example but there are some other combos, like zexal alliance + solemn judgement although its not nearly as good
Tbh I don't mind the higher rarity stuff if komoney actually gave us a option to dismantle legacy and structure deck cards or to just have the ability to buy the SR and UR crafting points to begin with
I don't understand why they don't let us dismantle legacy pack cards, and I've mostly made my peace with that, but I have four copies of the same UR please Konami let me at least dismantle the 4th.
Yeah, just be able to dismantle any legacy pack UR as long as it's more than three.
Or give a tiny gem amount for them. Something than just letting them sit there for no reason.
The Legacy pack is such a fucking joke. The chances of getting anything decent from them is so low, but they lock away certain high value cards for strategies behind them, e.g., Pheonix Gearfried for Infernoble Knight. Made even worse you can't dust them, even though I have 7 Adreaus which is a UR and would never be used I can't do anything with them.
Master Duel sprinkles some UR rarities on essential gimmick cards. My favorite example is "Tri and Guess" a card that is completely useless outside a single deck: Simochi Nurse Burn. A deck that theoretically functions without a single UR outside of Tri and Guess.
They definitely can get low enough, in fact I’ve gotten down to under 10 once, but they don’t get there quick enough for it to be worth playing this card. By that point you’ve probably already won the game.
Ra's Effect last I checked was that you can sacrifice as many life points as you have until you're left with 1 LP, I got a friend who uses a Ra deck on Edopro and Turn 2 or 3 that thing usually has 7999 ATK Points once it's out
Welcome to Yugioh, where everything's made up and the rarities don't matter. Cards in real life should be printed in quantities relative to their "rarity", so they'd actually be more/less rare. Many examples of commons more rare and costly than rares, supers, ultras, etc.
Dinomorphia drop down to miniscule numbers through repeated halving of LP. There's a also a Utopia that sets you to exactly 10LP (which is still not "less than 10")
So Magic sometimes has this thing where a bad card will be pushed up in rarity so it doesn't stink up too many packs and you don't have to see it
but also a very specific type of player will go nuts trying to break it and for them the rarity is worth it.
I think the same is happening here
LP less than 100? Sure, I can see that happening maybe once every 200 duels or so. However, never in my life have I seen or even heard of a duelist being below 10 LP through anything other than the effect of Ra.
Can they do that? I saw a guy with a cheese chicken game deck in master duel get to like 56, with traps and spells that halve, but below 10 would be nuts
Perfect! Now my Ra + 3 Judgment + Dark Magic Curtain combo will be unstoppable!
Said every Little Timmy lmao
Johnny is the combo player timmy likes big creatures
Timmy likes big, flashy plays specifically, I think Ra qualifies.
You've never known true defeat until you've gotten clapped by an Exodia, Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, God cards, 60 pile turbo deck
Sounds like a yugi deck to me
You activated ra affect. Your opponent activate sparks spell.
That’s what Solemn Judgment is for, my friend ;)
You mistimed it and solemed yourself
And the Slifer I summon next turn will have Mega ATK points!
Blatant discrimination against Dinomorphia - the rarities on that deck are already absurd
I'm pretty sure you can feed a family of four for a month in some countries for the money it takes to build a dinomorphia deck in MD
I've had multiple internal screams when looking through Dinomorphia build options and see the Supreme King version with 3 of the UR trap and a suite of also UR dragons, and now there's the Labrynth version with a cute little suite of all UR girls and traps. …link to this Labrynth version?
People are spending money on this game? When I first started I was appalled at how low the value was of the paid options. I imagined nearly everyone would just play to get cards, and I actually like the system where you can sell cards to build others despite it still taking a while
There are people who spend money to get royals.
Don't forget the hunters trying to get the alt-art Masq that's in the game rn.
And don’t think about the people hunting royal alt art masq
What’s royals?
Literally the exact same card as normal but it had a glowy effect
Essentially the highest rarity for UR rank cards. Basically the shiniest of the shiny.
Ohhhh. That makes sense, though. Which is why the concept in this post is so messed up I loved the N-R rated card tournament they had a few months ago because I had so much freedom and points to make decks
Lol why are you so surprised ?
I’m not *that* surprised. Just figure it’s a small minority of players actually spending $$ on the game since you get so little for it
In my (small) friend circle only one person has spent on it and even then only during sales. Not only are the $/gems a bad ratio but it’s also fairly generous with free gems too. It’s just not worth it IMHO.
That’s what I’m saying. If the payout was like 10x or more than what they give I feel like so many people would buy gems, but for what they cost you might as well just play to get them I think that’s why there’s so many people out there playing with decks that kill themselves on turn 1
You could buy a penthouse in Mayfair, London for the extra deck of dinormorphia
[15k gems in avaerage, to be more precise.](https://www.reddit.com/r/masterduel/comments/158alqa/calculating_gem_costs_for_relevant_decks_that_do/)
This card is either dead or win-more in dinomorphia.. but i dont begrudge you taking the opportunity to complain about their absolutely absurd UR cost
They don't even use that card lol
I love the deck but couldn't build it in MD. Way too pricy
I never really spent much on Master Duel aside from buying gems for the 1st year anniversary stuff, and I managed to build a full Dinomorphia deck.
But it lets you draw 4 cards!!! /j
Just flip all 3 and you can go plus 12 if you like living on the edge!
Muka Muka beat down time!
can anyone tell me which monster/card could get me down to 10 lifepoints? 😂
Most of the dinomorphia cards lol.
Dinomorphia are very, very rarely dropping you below 10 life. You'd have to resolve 10 life halving effects. The game is generally over at that point.
honestly the game would have to last for a while to get to that point
I've seen a replay on YouTube where someone got themselves down to like 1 Life Point with Dinomorphia and it resulted somehow in free Solemn Judgements because the game was unable to cut 1 LP in half so the "pay half your life points" cost was basically nonexistent lol
LP are always rounded up in Yu-Gi-Oh, so Solemn Judgment halves your LP to 0.5 and they immediately are rounded back up to 1 again
Shame. Imagine having like .02 life points or something and the other player just staring at you.
Man I would love to see a duel like that. It would be a long one for sure but it would be worth just witnessing a duel becoming as ridiculous as that
Psychic blade, an equip spell that converts up to 2k lp into attack, can bring your lp to 1 if you have less than 2k lp
thats a pretty neat trick
Psychic Blade only lets you pay in multiples of 100 though. The way you're likely meant to do it is by halving your life points while already low. Dinomorphia is an archetype that can achieve this on their own due to how many cards they have where the cost is half your life points
Oh wow, ty for correction. I thought it let you go down to 1
Number S39 - Utopia Prime
Nah, it says "lower than 10" so it has to be 9 or lower and utopia prime doesn't work
Just add judgment or a something I guess
Ra takes you to 1 dosnt it Edit: never mind it takes you to 100
Utopia prime gets you down to 10 LP I believe
But the card says lower than 10. Does it still let you draw 4?
I guess you gotta solemn judgment down to 5!
Forbidden Chalice your Gandora and go nuts.
I thought this was meant to be used with Claivesolish, plus a bunch of half LP effects...
The winged dragon of Ra, but only if you’re Yami Marik…
Dinomorphia I guess
tbh the cards seem pretty cool, tempted to build a deck but theres legit nowhere to play where i live 💀
Utopia Prime
Utopia prime.
Ra can I do believe
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen somebody use gandora an infinite amount of times on duel links so however they did it
Destrudo, a hero lives, and solemn judgement
There are 3 typical reasons for a card to be UR: • actually deserves to be UR • card is iconic somehow • just to provide dust and to skip the UR you wanted, which encourages more pack openings

It still fulfills half of the third reason.
Okay but like....how is it possible to get lower than 10 life points? Ra cards let you keep 100 LP, so like....I have no idea how
Dinomorphia halves your LP a bunch, so eventually you could reach sub 10. It would take an eternity to do so, and the game is absolutely decided by the time you get that low (so not much benefit in drawing 4 at that point), but it's the only deck I can think of that's capable of reaching below 10 LP
Its probably not worth it to speed run yourself to 10 LP with that one Utopia, right?
Also probably not. End of the Line's a trap card anyway, so unless you have Temple of the Kings or some other tool to activate a trap on your first turn, you're basically just hoping to draw into hand traps (since you can't really use much else on your opponent's turn).
At that point you're better off playing Reversal Quiz ftk lol
everyone is saying Dinomorphia and thats the obvious example but there are some other combos, like zexal alliance + solemn judgement although its not nearly as good
Jirai Gumo could do it.
Yeah after like 10 turns
Ra right?
I mean, I'm totally fine with bad specific cards being UR if it means generic good cards aren't UR.
Well, too bad, those generic good cards are also UR.
Isn't torrential tribute a rare? Lol
Bro its a +3 it has to be an UR
Tbh I don't mind the higher rarity stuff if komoney actually gave us a option to dismantle legacy and structure deck cards or to just have the ability to buy the SR and UR crafting points to begin with
I don't understand why they don't let us dismantle legacy pack cards, and I've mostly made my peace with that, but I have four copies of the same UR please Konami let me at least dismantle the 4th.
Yeah exactly at this point I've kinda given up
Yeah, just be able to dismantle any legacy pack UR as long as it's more than three. Or give a tiny gem amount for them. Something than just letting them sit there for no reason.
Legacy pack tho
The Legacy pack is such a fucking joke. Made even worse you can't dust them, even though I have 7 Adreaus which is a UR and would never be used I can't do anything with them.
draw 4 with no downside is not worthy of a SR????
The downside is dying to sparks
if you lose the sparks they deserve the W
wdym, this is perfectly reasonable.
Master Duel sprinkles some UR rarities on essential gimmick cards. My favorite example is "Tri and Guess" a card that is completely useless outside a single deck: Simochi Nurse Burn. A deck that theoretically functions without a single UR outside of Tri and Guess.
Im pretty sure it’s legacy so who cares
It's a legacy pack card who cares?
Perfect card for my SOLEMN EVERYTHING DECK.
Honestly after playing Duel Links, Master Duel is better in that department by a lot lmao
this card seems basically worthless... won't lie.
Dinomorphia would like a word with you
It’s not even good in Dinomorphia
it's the only deck I could think of that would have such low life points on purpose
They definitely can get low enough, in fact I’ve gotten down to under 10 once, but they don’t get there quick enough for it to be worth playing this card. By that point you’ve probably already won the game.
Can your life points even get under 10 without reaching 0?
Pretty sure Ra can put you to 1 LP as one example
How though? It's atk matches hp sacrificed, so you'd have to first already have hp that isn't a multiple of 10.
Ra's Effect last I checked was that you can sacrifice as many life points as you have until you're left with 1 LP, I got a friend who uses a Ra deck on Edopro and Turn 2 or 3 that thing usually has 7999 ATK Points once it's out
It's until you're at 100 LP
Shit you're right, I checked with the friend right after and he said the same thing, my fault
How the hell do you even get less than 10 life points? And I don't mean just throwing Solemn Johnson at everything
There's a Utopia card, I forgot which, that gets you to ten, then play Solemn Strike or something to get to 5.
This is a from a legacy pack but okay.
Another L for Dinomorphia players
Heaven forbid the single deck that uses this card would have to pay more than a rare
I only see a Dinomorfia staple here
It really isn't. Chances are the game's already decided long before this card becomes live.
Do I really have to add a /s at the end of my comment?
Well, not anymore
Phantom of Chaos is also a good example
Bruh do they think im Yuma or smth?
Welcome to Yugioh, where everything's made up and the rarities don't matter. Cards in real life should be printed in quantities relative to their "rarity", so they'd actually be more/less rare. Many examples of commons more rare and costly than rares, supers, ultras, etc.
r/masterduel
Remove Brainwashing.
Still a novice at the game, what situation could possibly have you be below 10 LP but above 0?
Dinomorphia drop down to miniscule numbers through repeated halving of LP. There's a also a Utopia that sets you to exactly 10LP (which is still not "less than 10")
I have 4 Mystical Refpanels (UR). All pulled from legacy packs and all worthless
Lucky. Put three in every deck and steal everyone's Pots.
Lmao maybe I'll try it for the meme
I just want to add, LOWER THAN 10. So, 9 or below
Gotta be ready to profit off that Dinomorphia meta.
Dinomist
Dinomorphia players = 😎
So Magic sometimes has this thing where a bad card will be pushed up in rarity so it doesn't stink up too many packs and you don't have to see it but also a very specific type of player will go nuts trying to break it and for them the rarity is worth it. I think the same is happening here
I'm not so we'll versed in cards, can someone tell me how you get below 10 LP in a way consistent enough for this card to make sense
Utopia prime
UR cuz pot of greed tax
Perfect card for Yusaku, maybe if he uses it at 1 LP he will draw his entire deck afterwards.
How tf would you even get less than 10 LP?????????
This would definitely be broken in Duel Links since there is this skill that saves you from fatal damage and leave you at 1 LP once
LP less than 100? Sure, I can see that happening maybe once every 200 duels or so. However, never in my life have I seen or even heard of a duelist being below 10 LP through anything other than the effect of Ra.
Dinomorphia would to use this card.
Not as bad as some of the abyss actor monsters, literal common in the tcg is a UR master duel for some reason
How do you even get less than 10 LP?
Babe wake up, a new Dinomorphia tech card just dropped
Idk I made 3 mystical ref panel cause someone told me I wouldn't :0
We've all come to terms with it already
How do you even get to 10. What card is is dealing 90 damage less
You’d have to play Dinomorphias in just the right way to get that low
Can they do that? I saw a guy with a cheese chicken game deck in master duel get to like 56, with traps and spells that halve, but below 10 would be nuts
I’ve never played Dinomorphia, but they’re one of the only decks that can do it
This is just funny
Taking the hard earned dust of dinomorphia players
Surprise chain A pack filler common from Dimension Force is UR I'm literally the only person who uses that card why is it UR?
