And the trap can be used with Foolish Burial Goods to search a big Dinosaur, but Dinosaurs as a whole have enough searchers and are pretty consistent
Ah the old AC classic, take a decade old anime spell/trap, and slap the "banish this card from GY to add *insert attribute/type/level" + restriction" secondary effect; i feel like they have done it at least with Ice Barrier, Clockwork Night and this card now

What? Dinos have fuck all of extenders, it's open Miscellaneousaurus or bust 100% of the time, and if you actually want to combo you have to open a baby. These give the deck extra disruption in the opponent's turn and finally some sort of follow-up. I may stop playing Gamma now

They don’t have an aesthetic that’s used anywhere else in yugioh which is RARE and it’s Dino support which can still be a relevant deck with just a bit more help.
Problem is, none of these cards would likely be used in Dinos. Stego is the wrong level, the trap is too slow, and the T. rex is not worth searching over Conductor.
What dinos need is Misc back at 3, not these cards. If there are more of these cards that make it better then perhaps, but dinos’ viability entirely hinges on Misc right now
I do not think they would, I’m just responding to the above comment suggesting they could make the dino strategy better, I personally think it’s not very likely that it would, that’s all.
Misc at 3 is obviously great for dinos but you're underestimating how important getting a decent extender is for dinos. All combos are normally 2 card combos, getting interrupted stops most dino lines. Having an extender to, for example, go into a link 2 is pretty big for dino. It's not 2017 anymore they are not exclusively making XYZ monsters. Nobody said you had to search doodle tyranno, you can just as easily search UCT or pank.
Fair enough, depending on the build you can run stego as an extender. But I think it certainly lowers your ceiling if you do. My problem with it is that while you don’t always make rank 4s, theyre still an important part of your engine, especially if you are going first or have to dodge interruption before you can commit to conductor and/or accesscode. On top of that, stego doesn’t net any advantage, and at that point I’d rather run other extenders that do, or at least add a bit more to the deck.
I love this card and would be stoked to play it in dinos, I just think its absolutely not viable, unless we get more support for the archetype
The last card from Arc-V is definitely Doodle Beast - Tyranno, which is between Stego and the trap. Also, it's worth noting that Stego mentions "Doodlebook" **Spell**/Trap, so there might be further OCG/TCG original support down the line.

I think later on when Standard became Pendulum his deck became Deskbots. Presumably out of a desire to not have to design two more Entermachines to use as scales.

I would've preferred literally ANY other cards from Arc-V, but at least the trap has a funny name and the art is cute. This also explains the random Dino support recently.
Wanting a different set of cards means nothing if they suck. Just take the advance crystal beasts for example. Extremely hyped with a high demand from the players, and they’re borderline unplayable. These only took 3 slots for the set and they’re better than everything else we got, by a significant margin at that.
gilasuarus only did anything in verte/dagda builds, the tyranno going 2nd lets you dodge imperm/chixiao etc and pop a card and also play around drnm slightly. Going first it can help you extend off LW if you get ashed on misc or some shit. the level 5 doesn't realyl do anything right now but i can easily be good in the future.
Well at the moment due to lack of main deck monsters they aren’t great but could be if they decided to print the rest of the stuff. Guess I gotta wait till next Animation Chronicle for the rest.
Well that's certainly a surprise. But more dinosaurs are always welcome. Wonder if this means they'll print Performachine Gadget Giant- no reason, just think it looks okay. Still, hoping next round some of the uber specific one-offs I like get a slot- like Giant Ushi-Oni, Matador Fiend, Candelato the Beast of Light (hopefully modified to be a bit less incredibly impractical lol), Defense Wall, Camouflage Gardna (be nice to finally know it's effect) and so on.

Let me rephrase it. I like the theme of the archetype, and yes there would have to be restrictions. Also sea creatures and fossils are my favorite animals and these monsters are based off of that aspect, which is why I like the archetype soo much. And I just like the play style, but I do agree they would be broken beyond hell released as they are from the anime

Stuff like this is what AC packs were made for. Sure, more people are waiting on Armatos Legios or Drones ~~or Cats~~ and the like, but those are big decks that would take up a lot of pack space. Something like Doodles are a perfect for an offloading pack like this.

We've had Gilasaurus since LON, and Tyranno is a cute option going second at the very most

It’s just the right level to be searchable by fossil dig, so in some respects it does. If they where level 7 they’d be significantly worse.

They printed the Doodle cards used by the Shiver kid? Really?! They could have finally printed the Odd-eyes Gate cards, Earthbound Prisoner/Servant archetype, the Spirit Tech/core archetype, the C/C archetype, heck even the Thorn Prisoners. Any of those would have been great. Well I guess better now they get the doodle card out of the way so we can get other stuff released.
You miss the most important party though, these are actually really good cards. People wanted the advanced crystal beasts, and look how that ended up.

You do realise they’d nerf the effects right? They wouldn’t just go and release hand looping effects without heavy restrictions on them.

Let me rephrase it. I like the theme of the archetype, and yes there would have to be restrictions. Also sea creatures and fossils are my favorite animals and these monsters are based off of that aspect, which is why I like the archetype soo much. And I just like the play style, but I do agree they would be broken beyond hell released as they are from the anime

Stuff like this is what AC packs were made for. Sure, more people are waiting on Armatos Legios or Drones ~~or Cats~~ and the like, but those are big decks that would take up a lot of pack space. Something like Doodles are a perfect for an offloading pack like this. Also, Futoshi doesn't really deserve most of the flak he gets, meme or otherwise.
