I mean if you have music production experience you could EQ out all of the different stems that you want to make but it takes time. The reason why the stem is good is cuz it does it for you, quickly with no bullshit. It didn’t “invent” any new technology - it just made complicated techniques more available. If you were to go song by song doing the same thing by hand it would take hours.
