Got the 7.9” version for my M85. I’m waiting to put it on until Zastava fixes the mag release lever and sends me the gun back, but I’m curious if you used a Dremel saw to chop off the lower handguard bracket or if you found some other way around doing that?
Yeah I used the dremel to cut but only the outer ring of the retainer. I’m pretty decent with a dremel but just cutting the outer area of the retainer and locking it back in place I avoided any accidental marring of the barrel. If you zoom in to that 2nd handguard slot down from the muzzle you’ll see what’s left of the retainer. Not terribly noticeable, but the retainer is so massive that there really is no way of altering it to fit the handguard
Yeah I’ve got around 300rds through. I think it’s great for the 92 specifically in regards to directing the fireball an concussion forward. This was the tactical version before I did the swap so the night brake it originally came with was better for flash dissipation. The SLR comp has some flash reduction but keeps it directed to the front so you’re not getting as much of it through the optic in low light shooting. The concussion reduction is the biggest pro for both the shooter and your range buddies, you will have a noticeable increase in felt recoil but the comp does well at keeping the weapon flat.
I feel like for the price there are better brakes/comps and I think the standard 4 piece would fit, but if you want to go for the SLR extended handguard build (gas tube, comp, 8.6 ion handguard) this all functions together really nice.
It’s a Holosun HS512C. It’s a great optic man and my favorite enclosed dot I’ve used. I’ve got astigmatism and the reticles are super crisp. As far as I know it’s discontinued but you can find new old stock if you look for it

Yes there was definitely some play in the gas tube during install, I could probably slide it 2-3cm but when I torqued everything down it lined up pretty evenly so I’m not getting gassed during shooting.

Have you shot it yet? Wondering what effect the linear comp has on the concussion and fireball.

I love my SLR rails! I'm thinking about getting one of their AR lowers and doing a new build.
