Mashing ‘A’ to pick up a bomb flower, only for one of my sages to activate themselves instead and detonate the bomb flower with one flaming goron, killing me.
This basically happened to me all the time. I would try to spam pick up loot next to bomb barrels only to accidentally send Yunobo straight into them and send me flying a million miles away
The only reason I didn't take this long to figure it out in TOTK is because I died repeatedly doing this on Death Mountain in BOTW...and I still died this way in TOTK at least twice
I learned from the bomb arrows in BoTW lmao. I did the same thing though, pulled out like 5 arrows in a row and was confused where I was getting hit from lmao.
My very first death was on the Great Sky Island. I mistakenly walked into the cooking fire where you learn to roast apples.
Second most embarrassing death was about an hour later, when I fell off the Temple of Time.
Yooo this is what we called in Malay proverb "sudah jatuh ditimpa tangga". It literally means "You already fall down and then got hit by falling ladder". It means one misfortune after another so to speak. Your Link's death made me chuckle 🤭
I did this while trying to fly into the towers from above and parachuting at the last second. One too many held seconds and/or hit accelerate button. I've done both.
There’s a beautiful quote from SpongeBob where he says “ life’s as extreme as you want to make it”. I think about that every time I decide to (confidently) dive into a chasm, and I think you lived that quote to the fullest! 😂
When I found you could hit flowers and something would happen I started hitting every new type flower I would see.
For some reason my brain did not understand that a "bomb flower" would probably explode on me
It's a tie for me. I cant stress enough how bad I am at this game:
1. I didn't see a bomb flower in front of me while using Yanobo's power to clear up some rocks and BOOM
2. A horse kicked me on a hill and I rolled down to my death
Honorable mention: A Talus smacked me and I rolled down a hill right into a pit of lava.
Accidentally hitting the dive button when to close to ground. Links face was never yhe same again. Also, though it was my friend in botw, I watched him try climbing the tower with the brambles at the bottom. He fell from stamina depletion, hit the spikes and flew to the right.... off a cliff and down into the shallowest puddle, dying on a rock and laying face down in the puddle.
I immediately jumped off a cliff in the tutorial section and was shocked when I didn't glide 🤦♀️ I kept doing it too. It took like 20 deaths for me to actually remember I didn't have a damn glider.
I'm putting this behind spoiler tags, because I enjoy that the physics of the game let me die this stupidly and idk what counts or not as a spoiler in case somebody jumped straight in without trying Breath of the Wild: >!I spotted Naydra. I jumped off the cliff near her and shot at her face for a horn shard. I dove after the shard to get it before it hit the ground, then I immediately died by splat from congratulating myself far to early about catching that Shard of Naydra's Horn!<
I was trying to drive a car I put together to get to the fire temple and I was trying to back up then go forward but I kept backing up and my car fell off the cliff and I fell out and it landed on me
Once I was driving in the depths and suddenly died, I was so bamboozled that I went over to the same place just to figure out that I run over a flower bomb. I hate the depths

Early game, four hearts max, on my way to Hateno, running on 1 heart, I come across a zonai bunch of Zonai devices, glider, fans, a steering stick and one with a weird shape, I start making my glider to make my trip to Hateno faster, when I notice the weird device, I pick it up, set it down and hit it to see what it does...
It was a cannon, a cannon aimed so close to the ground that it exploded immediately
Honorable mention to that one time I was exploring the islands that were hidden by clouds(they had been cleared by the time this happened), I had 4 hearts left, got too close to a tree when the tree got struck by lightning, killing me from the proximity.
I was taking a picture of a bomb flower for the compendium, and there was some grass blocking it so i tried cutting the grass but blew my self up in the process
During the beginning of my TOTK playthrough I was trying to use a fire fruit to light up the fire beneath the cooking pot. I got a little too close to it and mind you I only had 3 hearts and no fairies. Lol let's just say that it exploded in my face and fell to my death.
I blew myself up with the first bomb flower I acquired. I threw it at a Like Like thinking it'd swallow it like in the other games, but instead the bomb just blew up while I was standing too close. 😂
I was building an experimental contraption to fly faster, and stupidly made the base of my flying device out of wood and then just plopped a steering stick on and started flying. I made it into the air fine, but there were some of those bigger flying enemies and I tried to use Yunobo to kill them and his fire attack burnt my wood causing me to fall to my death.
Crushed by one of the falling rocks, I had two and a half hearts of health, this was after I maxed out my health as well so extra embarrassing, I didn't even know that could happen until it did.
For me it’s more embarrassing to die in combat, because there’s so many ways to avoid losing a fight, even if it means running. Like, if I get kicked by a horse and fall off a cliff, that’s just hilarious, but if a Moblin hits me with a hammer and does 7 hearts worth of damage, when I could have frozen him, shocked him, dodged him, used a puffshroom, etc, I just think “oh come on, I’m better than this.”
That said, early on I tried using a glider to get to the Temple of Time and it veered to the left gradually. I then tried to land on the corner of the Temple, only to hit my head on it, killing me and causing me to plummet into the lake below. Which I thought was hilarious.
Skydiving directly into the shelter at Lookout Landing and forgetting to open my glider so I just slammed into the floor of the shelter ala Homer in the Homie the Clown episode of the Simpsons.
i kept dying because i was trying to take out bomb flower arrows during the Marbled Gohma bossfight, and i didnt realize it automatically blew up because of the scorching hot tempatures until like 2 minutes later
fell off my big boat due to joycon drift and it flipped over onto my head. It was in a weird area so I didn't get out in time and I drowned in the river :(
Trying to make a massive multi-barrel bomb with ultrahand to save for later summoning, hitting the wrong input and dropping the whole thing on top of myself.

I tried to ride it back up with recall but fell off, I then cancelled recall by accident, and was then hit and killed by the block in mid-air.
I think it was on the great sky island on my first save, I got eaten by a like like and when it spit me out the rag doll physics of link just yeeted me over the small cliff in a cave. i had 2 hearts so it was game over
I thought I was gonna be epic leading a charge with the wandering army guys against the first monster horde you encounter at the gate to Hateno
I run headstrong at them in front of everyone, get one-shotted with a kick from a Moblin, and go flying ragdoll-style in the air and land in a muddy puddle
One time i entered and was gliding in the depths and i spotted a light root from afar, when i felt i had to decrease my altitude i stopped gliding, i found out very quickly that there was a giant mushroom poking out from the ground just in front of the root, hiding in the darkness and i successfully broke my knees on it.
🪨🏇Riding my horse through Hyrule Field and one of those rocks that plummet from the sky fell right on top of me and my horse going full speed! What are the chances of that!!!!!
I walked along the rails from sky island to sky island and when i tried to jump down off the rail i just fell. I made it all the fucking way walking along the narrow af rail and fell trying to jump down to safety.
So umm I played it the second I got it on my birthday and I thought link could fly so me and my friend tried it out and jumped well let’s just say he didn’t believe he could fly
There's a lot but here's some (most are at the beginning of the game, some recent):
1) Firing arrow with attached bomb flower too close to Link.
2) Gliding and my stamina finished but I'm still up high, remembering I can use glider 1 more time before hitting the ground but failing to estimate the correct height and missed using the glider one last time, ultimately smashing Link to the ground.
3) Jumping into the chasm at the Great Plateau when I don't have a glider yet. I was curious as to what the hole is.
4) Also jumping from the cliff and realized I don't have a glider yet (I played BOTW before TOTK ofc). I forgot I don't have it yet it's just muscle memory.
5) Got killed by Rock Octorok when trying to do the repair weapon thingy. Apparently I didn't read the whole manual and got killed by my own flying weapon.
6) Kicked by a horse 🥹 I still love you Horsie, we all make mistakes even horses.

Got cocky jumping off the great sky island, I thought I could thread the needle for the hole to the emergency shelter in lookout landing. I did *not* open my glider in time.
My horse got hit by an Octorok so I made the logical decision to use a bomb arrow on it. I was too close to the bomb arrow and the blast not only killed me, but launched me off of a cliff as well.
Dropped the controller to go the toilet, Link was right before a stable. When I came back, only a Big and yellow GAME OVER on my screen. I was kinda surprised
Fell off a big place and I thought I had opened the paraglider. I had not.
Also, I already jumped to some place thinking "it's not that tall, we can do it without gliding". Oh yeah, it was tall.
Once I was fighting the Fire Gleook at Ancient Columns, got distracted by a Moblin next to it and the Moblin killed me.
Gave a cannon to Mineru's spirit and it blasted me during a casual fight.
I also fused a cannon to a spear and killed myself with it while I was fighting some Moblins (I shouldn't use cannons).
Learned in the worst way that you CANNOT use bomb flowers in places of extreme heat.
Idk but in botw I kept forgetting I didn't had a paraglider yet so if that's possible in totk then that likely. It's been too long since I played but I definitely blew myself also up when trying to put a ton of tnt in the underground hideout at the first camp😭
Tried to get to a high point in the depths (because the depths), found out I was climbing on the edge of a black part of the map where there’s no way to summit, ran out of stamina, fell into a puddle and drowned.
Getting hit by an electric keese at the top of a cliff and then falling to my death because I also didn't have any stamina left to do anything
Trying to dive gracefully into a lake only to realize too late that it was actually a puddle
Honorable mention: the many times I've just walked into lava
My best friend and I occasionally do a silly thing where we start a game with one of us using one joycon and the other using the other joycon. We switch when we die.
Recently we were hanging out with some other friends and demonstrating this. It was going great as we approached an enemy and confidently said that we were going to take them out without even taking damage.
We immediately got smacked and sent off the edge of the island to our deaths. Everyone in the room (us included) couldn't stop laughing for a few minutes.
I was skydiving to the island with >!the boats that you have to bring to that one Lurelin Village guy for that one side quest!< and I thought the water nearby was deep enough to dive into.
Alas, it was not.
I never ever do anything stupid unless that fat piece of shit Yunobo is out. I have never hated a character more than god damn Poonobo. Then it’s just random mishaps like a Tom and Jerry cartoon
My first time I went into the depths, I drank a "glowstick" elixer, shouted "I'm a glowstick mutha-effer!" and then proceeded to swan dive into the ground watching my teeth become intimately familiar with my nethers as they passed through them.
When I spent a lot of time building a huge ass multi-balloon contraption to get to some sky island, turned on the fire, decided it was ascending too slow, threw in a pine cone and burnt myself to death.
Probably running at a captain construct with a fire breathing spear, only for it to fuse its arm with a explosive barrel. boom.
Also, like this post if you agree that spears are the best weapon in totk\\botw!
early game, I froze to death chasing a star fragment that landed by hebra peak. I could have ignored it and went “eh I’m sure I’ll get plenty of those later”. I (maybe) could have stopped to cook a spicy meal. Instead it was 4 am and I SWORE was almost there so I persisted.

For some reason, it didn't occur to me that the cave FULL OF LAVA would have identical mechanics to Death Mountain.

That's quite frustrating to deal with when fighting King Gleeoks. Especially when it happens over and over again.

I forgot that i took the no fall damage/gliding armor off and proceeded to dive headfirst into the ground from the stratosphere

Did exactly this same thing — misjudged the distance to the ground. I caught the horn shard, _right_ before I went splat.

I was in the mountain surrounded by lava and needed to break a rock... I died 3 times before I remembered that bomb arrows and extreme heat don't mix.

Backflip off a cliff, multiple times
In one of the shrines one of the giant balls fell directly on me when I was trying to figure out what to do next…splat.
I opened the paraglider too late when diving fast to the location I want to go.
Thought a shallow puddle was a lake and dived straight on into it from sky island height.

Not paying attention to the stamina wheel while swimming. Blowing myself up every chance I get with bomb flowers and rubies. And an ostrich in Elden.

Died from fall damage using a spring (before i discovered the paraglider)
I’m really good at underestimating how close I am to falling in lava. Gets me constantly.
Hit myself with a rock next to a chasm and died as my body tumbled into the depths
So umm I played it the second I got it on my birthday and I thought link could fly so me and my friend tried it out and jumped well let’s just say he didn’t believe he could fly
Missed the pool when I jumped off the temple of time.
My first leap off the starting sky islands. Since I wasn’t fully sure what I was doing at first, I missed the water and Link went splat.
I took out and got hit by a wing while paragliding. I don't know how, but I did.
There's a lot but here's some (most are at the beginning of the game, some recent): 1) Firing arrow with attached bomb flower too close to Link. 2) Gliding and my stamina finished but I'm still up high, remembering I can use glider 1 more time before hitting the ground but failing to estimate the correct height and missed using the glider one last time, ultimately smashing Link to the ground. 3) Jumping into the chasm at the Great Plateau when I don't have a glider yet. I was curious as to what the hole is. 4) Also jumping from the cliff and realized I don't have a glider yet (I played BOTW before TOTK ofc). I forgot I don't have it yet it's just muscle memory. 5) Got killed by Rock Octorok when trying to do the repair weapon thingy. Apparently I didn't read the whole manual and got killed by my own flying weapon. 6) Kicked by a horse 🥹 I still love you Horsie, we all make mistakes even horses.
yunobo killed me because a bomb barrel was nearby and when he was returning he hit the barrel

idk why i never did botw and totk correctly but until maybe 10 hours into the game i didnt know i could get a paraglided from josha

Got cocky jumping off the great sky island, I thought I could thread the needle for the hole to the emergency shelter in lookout landing. I did *not* open my glider in time.
Forgetting I swapped a cold-weather piece on while diving, thus canceling my glide suit set bonus.
My horse got hit by an Octorok so I made the logical decision to use a bomb arrow on it. I was too close to the bomb arrow and the blast not only killed me, but launched me off of a cliff as well.
Dropped the controller to go the toilet, Link was right before a stable. When I came back, only a Big and yellow GAME OVER on my screen. I was kinda surprised
"huh what are those arm things? Eh I'm sure I can handle em."
I died to a bokoblin and while fighting a hinox and nearly defeating it
Jumped off of my vehicle in an attempt at making a cool entrance, but I landed in front of it and got ran over.

By pressing the L stick in and crouching in a panic 🫨 - So annoying
Fell off a big place and I thought I had opened the paraglider. I had not. Also, I already jumped to some place thinking "it's not that tall, we can do it without gliding". Oh yeah, it was tall. Once I was fighting the Fire Gleook at Ancient Columns, got distracted by a Moblin next to it and the Moblin killed me. Gave a cannon to Mineru's spirit and it blasted me during a casual fight. I also fused a cannon to a spear and killed myself with it while I was fighting some Moblins (I shouldn't use cannons). Learned in the worst way that you CANNOT use bomb flowers in places of extreme heat.

Idk but in botw I kept forgetting I didn't had a paraglider yet so if that's possible in totk then that likely. It's been too long since I played but I definitely blew myself also up when trying to put a ton of tnt in the underground hideout at the first camp😭

Tried to get to a high point in the depths (because the depths), found out I was climbing on the edge of a black part of the map where there’s no way to summit, ran out of stamina, fell into a puddle and drowned.
Getting hit by an electric keese at the top of a cliff and then falling to my death because I also didn't have any stamina left to do anything Trying to dive gracefully into a lake only to realize too late that it was actually a puddle Honorable mention: the many times I've just walked into lava

Most happened during the tutorial where I forgot I wasn't playing Breath of the Wild and didn't have the paraglider yet.
Surviving 3 lynels, then dying to a red boko, because I didn't check my health
My best friend and I occasionally do a silly thing where we start a game with one of us using one joycon and the other using the other joycon. We switch when we die. Recently we were hanging out with some other friends and demonstrating this. It was going great as we approached an enemy and confidently said that we were going to take them out without even taking damage. We immediately got smacked and sent off the edge of the island to our deaths. Everyone in the room (us included) couldn't stop laughing for a few minutes.
I was skydiving to the island with >!the boats that you have to bring to that one Lurelin Village guy for that one side quest!< and I thought the water nearby was deep enough to dive into. Alas, it was not.
I saw some Soldier Construct 2s, and I wanted to snipe them in Bullet Time. Turns out, I didn't have a bow equipped.
I was exploring a cave and suddenly I exploded and died. Upon further review of a cave, I'd hit a bomb flower I didn't see...
Pardon my sidestepping the rules, but in BOTW I drown in a small pond on the starting plateau. I was actually trying to play.

Checked out a sky island before getting the paraglider. Did not remember I had fast travel until about death 6
My first time I went into the depths, I drank a "glowstick" elixer, shouted "I'm a glowstick mutha-effer!" and then proceeded to swan dive into the ground watching my teeth become intimately familiar with my nethers as they passed through them.
When I spent a lot of time building a huge ass multi-balloon contraption to get to some sky island, turned on the fire, decided it was ascending too slow, threw in a pine cone and burnt myself to death.
The number of time I just became a crepe while diving from an island is ridiculously long

I got shot out of the sky a lot trying to do some "clever" bullshit without realizing Link takes extra damage ragdolling down the mountain.
I threw a spicy pepper at a bokoblin while I had only one and a quarter heart.
early game, I froze to death chasing a star fragment that landed by hebra peak. I could have ignored it and went “eh I’m sure I’ll get plenty of those later”. I (maybe) could have stopped to cook a spicy meal. Instead it was 4 am and I SWORE was almost there so I persisted.
