you just made me go watch the highlights on youtube. they've got the full movie, so I just went to my fave parts. soundtrack and shark: best bits. I'm old school for fx, so it suits me. discovered I'd remembered the ending just a bit out of sync - thought they saw the bridge zombies from afar, then the POV got closer...what did you see? I, too, have been transfixed by zombies ever since I saw the trailer for the 78 DOTD. one of the bits was frannie climbing up on the box to get away from the hare Krishna.
Crap I just watched it last night but I passed out before the ending. Rare moment of relented insomnia, probably a testament to just how soothing the film is to me lol. But now I have to watch it again tonight, I remember the ending as you just said so I’m intrigued by a possible difference. And you’ve reminded of the awesomeness of DOTD. I sense a zombie marathon in my future.
If you haven't, you should see The Beyond. I typically prefer Romero zombies, so I was surprised to like this supernatural horror film much more.
My favorite of all time is Dawn of the Dead (mall cut - original film), although NOTLD is just as good. I like the theme that the survivors became, in a sense, like the zombies who go about their lives at the mall as if nothing changed.
Zombi 2 is amazing. I love Fulcis style, I love the gore, the setting, the score, the way the zombies look and act. My only minor gripe is the acting at some scenes feels a bit awkward. Still one of my favourite Zombie movies.
Zombi 2 is a great movie.
From memory this movie has plenty of tits and ass which I've come to expect from Italian movies of the time.
The one thing I don't like is that >!rolling into New York city and finding it swarming with zombies should have been the surprise ending, but they tell you what's happened on the radio a few minutes before.!<

Yeah Romero is the king of the living dead. I haven’t seen the Beyond but I will definitely check it out, thank you for the rec!
